DOORS
-Upon approaching a door, Belle will scan it for magic from a safe distance
-Once clear, Tony will approach and scan 5 feet in front of it and to each available side of the door frame and then the door itself for traps.
-Tony will listen at the door
-If no activity is detected, Tony steps back
-Others will check door for traps. Not Aid. Individual rolls. (Added 14DEC16)
-If trap detected, attempt ranged disarm at Trap DC + 5 + 1 for every 5 feet the range is greater than 25 feet
-If door is locked, attempt ranged pick at Lock DC + 5 + 1 for every 5 feet the range is greater than 25 feet
Trapdoor is not trapped or locked, I'm not going to roll a bunch of dice to make you nervous.
-Once untrapped/unlocked,
-Reynaud and Garrosh flood into the room as it opens
-Brodin at the doorframe
-Seir and Belle stay back 25 feet if possible
This is where we are right now. I was assuming that trapdoors would be handled the same, with Garrosh and Reynaud going down first, Brodin at the top, and Belle and Seir standing back. No idea where Tony should be, but I believe "near the door" is assumed.
And my bad with my previous post stating "Who's next after Garrosh and Brodin?" I meant Garrosh and Reynaud.
If Garrosh and Reynaud are not going in first, please let me know.

Garrosh Saurfang |

Ok, that's cool then GM Hands of Fate, was my bad :D
But I would like to propose a change:
Trapdoor is not trapped or locked, I'm not going to roll a bunch of dice to make you nervous.
-Once untrapped/unlocked,
- Reynaud and Garrosh step immediately inside the door to the room/corridor as it opens
- Brodin at the doorframe
- Seir and Belle stay back 25 feet if possible
- If no immediate danger is present, scouting continues
What do you think?

GM Hands of Fate |

Sorry, I think we need to look at the full thing...
Of course Tony would scout once the room beyond the door is cleared, but we aren't there yet. I think what is being suggested is that following Garrosh and Reynaud, if the room beyond is empty, Tony should come down and make sure the rest opf the room is safe to move into.

-Seir and Belle stay back 25 feet if possible
-If there's no combat, Tony will first move to Unoccupied Room
-We then play the new room by ear after Tony establishes a trap-free environment in the room near enough the door for everyone to come inside.
-we analyze the door for potential valuables (embedded gems, precious metals etc.)
-If activity detected, wait for other party information.

Belle PBP |

If she is ranged, put her in back. If she is melee, put her in front.
Not sure ow fragile she is though. If she is only first level keep her in back. Do we get any stats on her - any at all?

GM Hands of Fate |

Your characters wouldn't know Gilda's stats, and you haven't seen her in combat, so you can't really gauge her combat prowess. You can guess she is a druid. You know her perception is on par with or better than Tony, her tracking is better than any of you.
She wears leather armor, a heavy wooden shield and wields a scimitar.
need a little more definition around "in front". To me that means in front of Garrosh. Consider marching order, and where you would like her in that order.
For now, I am going to assume, Garrosh, Reynaud and Tony are the first three to enter the hatch, and the rest will follow, once Tony has made sure there aren't any traps.

GM Hands of Fate |

I need Garrosh and Reynaud to pop into roll20 so I can move your icons over to the "below ground" map.

GM Hands of Fate |

Question. Would youlike me to simlify the initiative order after the surprise round?
1) all of you
2) all of them

Garrosh Saurfang |

I have been rolling with exactly that method in most of the games I am in, but when I am more initiative dependent, I usually sneer and bark at it :D
Thing is, in my opinion EVERYONE benefits from high Initiative, but some benefit more than others - namely casters because they can cast their spells first (and this can make a HUGE difference), and rogues for the obvious reasons, as winning initiative can mean another round of sneak attacks :D
For me as a Warpriest this is not as big a deal because of Fervor, and because my Init isn't very impressive, but for Tony, Belle and Seir, group initiative can bring down their Initiative count and harm their actions.
So I'll let them weight in on it ;)

GM Hands of Fate |

yeah I tend do to a hybrid system...first round, by the numbers, and then group initiative after that.
As Tony has already acted, he's fine with the group initiative thing :)

Belle PBP |

Group init is fine with me. Anything that makes the game move faster is more important to me than my character's effectiveness.

GM Hands of Fate |

alright, I'll just apply that here as well. Seir, please feel free to act now as well.

GM Hands of Fate |

let me see what I can figure out with Roll20...maybe I'll put an inset map on for Garrosh, Reynaud and Tony.
All fixed! Garrosh and Reynaud should see a room full of hobgoblins.

GM Hands of Fate |

Belle, are you moving to see if there is room down below? It was most likely communicated when Garrosh and Reynaud went down that the room is 20x30, but where your friends, and the opposing combatants are right now is unknown unless you look.

GM Hands of Fate |

Cap CD, I tried deactivating two of the three aliases you have posted in here with. not sure if that will work or not. What Browser are you using?

GM Hands of Fate |

Waiting on Seir and Reynaud. I know Seir had finals. And Tony is waiting for Reynaud to flank.

Garrosh Saurfang |

Lazy Tony... And disobedient!

Garrosh Saurfang |

GRATS Seir! ;)
On a different note, I wanted to let you guys know I am going on a family extended weekend from tomorrow morning, up till Wednesday.
If needed, feel free to bot the Mighty Garrosh :D

GM Hands of Fate |

Garrosh gets bitten by a tick, contracts Lyme disease and is paralyzed for the next round...
Thanks for the heads up, Garrosh. I will kind of try not to kill you wile you are away.

Garrosh Saurfang |

I actually discovered last year how BAD Lyme disease can get... Dang! I was really astounded by the severity of it when a friend of my wife caught it...
As for Garrosh, please no death nor debilitating conditions (just to make sure everything is plainly written :D)

GM Hands of Fate |

I picked up a tick 2 years ago, running around my neighborhood....and 5 when out hiking for 1 hour after work. No Lyme, but yeah, it is no joke.

Belle PBP |

We get ticks all the time. My wife loathes them or any other bug that sucks blood. It seems even spiders like to suck her blood and she will wake up with welts because of it.

GM Hands of Fate |

No, I'm ruinning (Erp...RUNNING) 2 NPC's. Not my favorite thing to do, but... I'm holding off on acting for them in case someone wants to suggest a course of action. Otherwise, I'm planning on having Gilda attack, and Tony is going to sneak deeper into the darkness.

Garrosh Saurfang |

Would you like me to run one of them?

Garrosh Saurfang |

Sure, I love Rogues :D
Let me know when I should start.

Garrosh Saurfang |

On it.
EDIT: Does Tony see anything else down that corridor to the south? He has Darkvision ;)

GM Hands of Fate |

give that a look see and see if you can see what Tony sees. If not...there is a short hallway which opens up on both sides. Forty feet away, there is a worked stone wall with a closed door.

Garrosh Saurfang |

I can see it now ;)

Garrosh Saurfang |

Tony's back???Oh I see what you did :)
Pretty neat, huh?

GM Hands of Fate |

I will progress this tomorrow morning. Seir and Reynaud have been poked. Those who have not responded will be holding their actions.

GM Hands of Fate |

So, I have been quietly putting out feelers for someone to take over Tony's position. I have someone interested from over on myth-weavers. They player is a very active player and member of the myth-weavers community, with 32000 posts over the past 6 years, 14+ posts a day, and head GM of Return to the Tomb of Horrors.
I have explained that, if Boss Zog returns, he would have first dibs on playing Tony, and that the new player would be welcome to stay with the game, and either create a new character, or play Tony, if Zog plays another character.
Any thoughts?

Belle PBP |

Love it. The most important thing to me is reliability and he sounds like he fits the bill.
