It's not quite as bad as "everyone but Reynaud and Belle died", 1 person left and my 1st character was practically designed to be wimpy, but yeah, it's been pretty deadly. This is actually one of the few major combats we've been in where not everyone has died. :)

Yea, Aygen was built to die. I've never seen anyone build a character with such a sucky defense. According to the sheet he had 8 HP? I thought it was a little more. Anyway, I guess you were just trying to get us all into the whole RA mood and was certainly in the spirit of embracing the theme!

Male Human Cleric 4 /Monk 1 AC: 22 T: 21 FF: 13 HP 28/37 Init +2 Fort +8 Ref +6 Will +13

He had 16 hp originally, got a few more when leveling up, and then had 8 hp from CON drain before he died.

The village wasn't Zelkor's Ferry was it?

That is significant enough a plot point that I'm going to have to carry it over. Could you point me in the right direction for me to be able to read it myself?

Okay. That's a little different from the text but no big deal.

Why is Belle here?

Belle PBP wrote:
About the only thing that worries me is the loss of experience. We have leveled up only once so far and I was hoping that this delve would put us over the top and we could finally level up to 6.

I'd see no problem in starting the next 'arc' at 6th-level and begin awarding experience from there.

Then again it seems the module has other sideline locations like the ghouls anyway so perhaps that is not a concern.

This is true. However, this location, if the hobgoblins indeed clear out, could be a decent, new base of operations for our heroes.

It does not really make sense to me, if you think about it...
...passing over pits to get in and out on planks seems tedious, especially just to go to the bathroom. That might be the old school dungeon design, though.

Who here is using a Myth-Weavers Pathfinder Character sheet?

One thing I'm going to be looking forward to, playing on Myth-Weavers, is the ability to merge the in-character content into a single block.

Garrosh's negotiations are absolutely great and it'd be nice to interject the hobgoblins and others reactions. But with this board...
...it's unwieldy.

Do you mean why is Belle part of the group?

Belle is an ardent follower of Daikitsu, Lady of Foxes. Her passion is art but her skills were someone lacking in depth. A friend suggested that it was because in her long life she had suffered no hardship, no encounter with evil; in short, her life was lacking in depth.

Besides being passionate about art, she is also a bit naive due to her lack of experience. So when she heard about the dungeon of Rappan Athuk, she decided what better way to add depth to her life and she set off across the ocean and took up residence in the main city near the dungeon and looked for other like-minded adventures.

I'm trying to play her as a somewhat naive and simple minded individual with black and white ideals and poor survival instincts, but who is intelligent enough to learn and grow and cope. She's had a hard time dealing with the deaths of her friends, and I will probably role-play a crisis point about leaving or staying at some time given the opportunity.

Well, that. Or in Rappan Athuk.

Most people would just sign up to work a customer service line.

You have been invited to the game.

I must insist. Was it Zelkor's Ferry that was burned down?

Apologies for not answering before - nope, the idea was that it would be another 'minor' settlement in the area. Not Zelkor's Ferry.

*phew*
Okay.

Oh man, I just had the craziest idea about how to deal with the hobgoblins.

I am mulling it over some, then will post about it ;)

I wait with 'bated breath!

Ok so... I know this is meta, and I will drop the discussion in character once the chance presents itself BUT... I was trying to see this from Garrosh's perspective and after Belle, Gilda and Reynaud's posts, I don't think Garrosh would be happy in simply letting the hobgoblins go.

What if we set them as our information network about the region, and PAID them for it? :D

- I'm going with the average meal per day costs from Pathfinder - a GOOD meal amounts to 5sp/day;
- Assuming there are 50 hobgoblins total (I may be going over the top, but that is the point of the exercise), this means 25 gold/day or 750 gold/month (for starters, because everyone wishes more than simply eating);
- In all honesty, divided by all of us, that is nothing;
- They could prove a reliable source of exploration/information gathering on the region;
- We could set ground rules regarding human settlements;
- We would compensate them adequately;
- We could try to show them a different way of life, and give them a second chance;
- Garrosh is not an evangelist, but he is a religious half-orc, so this would satisfy him;
- Ii would make for a different RP experience;
- Etc :D

What do you guys think? Put your money where your mouth is?

I love the idea.

What happened to Gareth Gumdrum (the actual character)? The last I read of him, he was cowering in fear.

I think he simply 'vanished' - suspension of disbelief? :P

Now... Who can tell me how much cash we have at the moment? Around 2k gold?

I didn't think we had squat. We divided the gold we had and spent it. At least Belled did. she bought as many scrolls as she could.

|| Loot List || Male half-orc Bloodrager 1 / Inquisitor 6 / Fighter 1 <> AC: 20 // HP: 64/64

I was seeing the coinage tab on the Loot list, and there is cash there.

I don't think I bought anything at all - gonna double check the posts, but hey, maybe we find a fortune here :D

Apart from that, I guess we can keep on going?

Male Human Cleric 4 /Monk 1 AC: 22 T: 21 FF: 13 HP 28/37 Init +2 Fort +8 Ref +6 Will +13

That plan sounds awesome. :)

Well... if he vanished, he can turn up again.

=)

I'm not going to maintain and use that Google Doc but I'll transfer what data I can from it to the Myth-Weavers game.

Where are y'all keeping your collected loot? Where's the base of operations? Endholme? Or Zelkor's Ferry? Or are you carrying it all on your backs?

|| Loot List || Male half-orc Bloodrager 1 / Inquisitor 6 / Fighter 1 <> AC: 20 // HP: 64/64

There is a Bag of Holding - we don't YET have a base of operations ;)

By the way OasysMaster, are you waiting on us the players?

I\m checking now if it's me that's up or the PCs.

Belle is carrying the Bag of Holding. Everything she is carrying is listed in this spreadsheet. There is a separate tab for everything in the BoH. The loot that did not fit is specified in this spreadsheet. Each player has a pair of columns showing what they grabbed from the loot. The stuff not grabbed will have a number in the 'undistributed number' column.

Thanks, Belle.

As a further note, the first section of the second spreadsheet lists the items we got from RA, all of which has either been distributed or sold. This portion of the list is now obsolete and there for accounting purposes only. It should help you figure out where we've been already and what is no longer available in RA.

Belle PBP wrote:

I'm not fully through the adventure yet.

But the odds are goood thatI'll be restocking everything from scratch.

Looks like y'all are carrying all your treasure.

I could have sworn there is a mighty big pile of common weapons and armor we were discussing using a floating disk to carry.
