"Well, they aren't magical, that's for sure. I'm not sure if they might work the way you described, Ela, but they are not magical items."

Elathras Narcinal |

After showing the boots and glove to his companions Elathras has an Idea, he places the boots and glove on, and holding a shield in his other hand he attempts to open the door and place the shield on the floor between the door and the doorframe, looking into the room.

brvheart |

the floor and walls of the room itself are all coated with an extremely adhesive alchemical glue.

brvheart |

You see a treasure chest on the northern wall across from the door, and a skeleton’s hand lying on the floor just next to the door, cut off at the wrist.

Wdrozgrúk |

"Elathras, I have an idea. Don't look so surprised; it does happen. Just stand aside, I want to see if any of my magics can clear off some of that glue."
When Elathras is out of the way, Wdrozgrúk will fire one of his Fire Rays at the floor, to see if it might burn a swath through the alchemical glue:
fire ray: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 131d6 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
And then, for good measure, will try to see if the Acid Splash spell does any good too:
acid splash: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 131d3 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 (with point blank)
I should hope that not even Wdrozgrúk could miss a patch of solid floor this way!

Elathras Narcinal |

Elathras steps back out of the way so Wdrozgruk can test his magic against the floor, once that appeared to be unsuccessful Elathras walks carefully into the room to look at the chest, to see if it is locked or trapped.
perception: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18

Elathras Narcinal |

not finding the chest locked or trapped Elathras, using the gauntleted hand, opens the chest. "I'm going to open it Virgil, ok?"

Elathras Narcinal |

Elathras goes back to the door and empties his back pack saying, "spread this stuff out, the chest is filled with gold, I will put it in my pack." after emptying his pack he goes back into the room and carefully places the coins into the pack, he then returns to the group. Attempting to lift the shield out of the doorframe.

Elathras Narcinal |

Unable to lift the shield Elathras reloads as much gear as he can and distributes the rest, then heading north-east, realizing the large area is where they first entered, he retraces their steps to the hidden door and heads south into the new area, 29 as they enter the new area Elathras looks around carefully

Elathras Narcinal |

As the 'cube' turns into a puddle of goo, Elathras reaches forward and picking up the chainmail holds it up and says, "Look Kaztor! This should fit a dwarf!"He then picks up the other items and asks Virgil, "Virgil can I put these in your pack?" The walls of this room are made of mortared stones, but fossilized human skeletons poke out from it to varying degrees. In one place, a skeletal stone hand pokes out from the wall, in another place the skull and ribcage of a stone skeleton protrudes from the wall along with one arm holding a sword in its hand, and in a third place the entire left side of the fossilized skeleton is visible, with the right side embedded in the wall.

Elathras Narcinal |

This room is relatively featureless, but it is an important discovery.
In the southern part of the room, there is a stairway leading down into
the darkness, flanked on either side by iron statues of cobras. Both cobra
statues are coiled, but with the head raised and the hood out, as if ready
to bite. Each of the statues sits upon a short stone pedestal six inches in
height

Elathras Narcinal |

Elathras approaches the statues, and the stairway, taking a closer look at the cobra's to see if they are worth taking.
