Elathras Narcinal |
Elathras nods enthusiastically, Bending over and picking up several of the copper coins he dumped out. "Ok, we will count, put your hands out." Looking around he realizes there are more coins than the dainty elf could hold. Smiling he attempts to hand her his make shift bag of tied off ogre pants. "Here you can use this to put them in."
Mitleid |
Before she moves out, the Dwarf stops her."My apologies, you see Elathras has a difficult time understanding values. We have plenty of items for barter." Diplo: 1d20 - 2 ⇒ (15) - 2 = 13
Sister Sheila |
I brought these three back to help out the party, but they are former PCs so they do have personalities, one of which is they do charge full price for their services. A restoration will cost 800 GP each at Sister Sheila's level.
"We have come here to provide a service, but it cost us a great deal to do so. If you are in need, we can do so, for gold and other compensation. I plan to invest a great deal in this small community here."
Elathras Narcinal |
Elathras smiles at Sister Sheila and bending over, knocking his silk scarf off his face, revealing his acid eaten nose. He begins to pick up the copper coins and put them back in his makeshift bag.
not sure exactly how he should act once he gets his nose and brains back...
brvheart |
You could get them cast cheaper in Bard's Gate, but it would cost a small fortune in gold and time to get there so you would not save much.
FYI, I realize the party is treasure poor, but that is common for RA. Then all the sudden you get rich at higher levels.
Elathras Narcinal |
who wants to call it?
Elathras, having collected his three gold piece worth of copper coins, pulls his scarf up over his nose, looking at the group expectantly and then the priestess.
Dolgrin Brightlaughter |
"Pricey, we'll expect a warranty and receipt so we can remit our expenses!"
Dolgrin tries to joke, he's not very good at it.
Elathras Narcinal |
Elathras smiles, reaching up to touch his nose, a light restoring to his eyes, that had been absent. Looking the cleric in the eye, speaking softly. "Thank you, one doesn't appreciate what they have until it's gone for a while."
hey brv, does the 'restore' fix the nose or does he need 'regenerate'
brvheart |
You will have a permanent scar there and the pain will never completely go away, but your nose is otherwise healed.
Mitleid |
Smiling at Sister Sheila Mitleid continues."Well it is great that you took residence here. Can you also aid us with the selling of the items we found? And the aquisition of other items?"
Sister Sheila |
"I will be building a residence and shop here. If you have things to sell, I have gold and gems and can buy almost anything you bring out of that wretched place! Or I can provide you with a letter of credit."
She gets over excited and slaps at the bar with her heavy mace (affectionately known as the roll of paper towels!) for 2 points of subdual damage.
About now three keel boats pull into the bock filled to the brim with lumber, bricks, nails, and supplies. Also walking off one of the boats is a dwarf.
By appearance he is a smith.
Lady Shakira Gabrielle Suna |
Also arriving with the Dwarf on the Boat:
hi, want to make my acquaintance with you blokes.
I am Lady Suna, Aire to the Elven Kingdoms and the Bridge City and too many other titles to count.
I am a Aristocrat by blood and a purveyor of Alchemy & Magic by trade. Zorro leaves his mark with a sword, mine is a "s" and arcane as well.
I understand that you have made contract with some of my business partners. I hope you bloody well have treated them kindly.
I had my fathers affairs to tend to and have been at my Estate in the Bridge City, I also had a Elven Council Meeting in the Hornsaw Forest.
The Dreams always needed tending too, in order to keep the curse at bay. I am, at least in part tied to that land and Forsaken by the Gods for the rest.
I am a product of two worlds, the city and the wilds. My mother having been cursed by the Titan Mormo and her evil Gods, having turned to magic as a refuge and married to my Father, A High Elf Merchant Class Engineer, I am there only daughter. The High Elves in my lands are forsaken because our gods have been sundered by Evil and no longer have power in the Physical realms.

"Duly noted."
Dolgrin begins looking beyond the newcomers towards the tavern, while he doesn't normally drink, the return to form of more talking less doing elves has convinced him it might be a good idea as well.
"Mitleid care to find out if the tavern is still selling swill? I think a warm meal of non-wolf and some ale might be just the thing after today's experiences. Oh and they might have warm water as well. We should investigate."
He moves past the newcomers with a smile and a friendly wave, turning as he walks calmly backwards.
"In the morning then. Glad to see help arrive for the ferry, it's quite the wilderness out there but also a land of opportunity. Note knows we've seen wonders, and horrors. Oh, and don't go down the well. F!*& if we know what that means, but it's pretty clearly a terrible idea if the people who wrote it thought it was the best advice they could give on the myriad host of unpleasantness out there."
He gestures vaguely in the direction of the wilderness, then smiles and waves again.
Long day today - dolgrin's trying to be friendly here, sorry if tone is internetted
Elathras Narcinal |
Elathras nods in agreement with Dolgrin, "That's a sound idea Dolgin, you don't mind if I join you, right?"
Elathras follows Dolgrin into the Bristleback Inn. Seeing Amelia behind the bar Elathras nods respectfully. Then, going to the table near the fire, asks the girl cleaning tables. "Ysbel, would you bring a bottle of mead for My friend and I? Then ask the cook if there is something we can eat."
Elathras intends to spend the evening enjoying the comforts of a warm Tavern, sleeping on a pallet in front of the fire.
Are we placing orders for stuff today and then going to the fort in the morning?
We still need supplies, do we just want to duplicate the first list from forever ago, or does someone want to create a new one?
Mitleid |
Looking at Dolgrim Mitleid shrugs. "Sounds like a plan. I need some Mead to wash away the dust of the road. And some sausage with dumpling fried with vegetables. No offense to Irenicus cooking, but a real meal just sounds wonderfully. And.... a real hot, steamy bathtub." Walking with Dolgrim and Elathras towards the inn.
Kaztor Strongforge |
Kaz is still here. I'm just watching as I posted he already went to bed! Take your time and I'll jump in when we get to the next day.
brvheart |
Beyond these three, what is available here is unchained just basic supplies.
Elathras Narcinal |
Elathras nudges Trakas while they eat. "It's good to see someone with real skill come to Zelkors Ferry. The first time we were here all we could buy was mundane items, I mean they had some nice stuff, but nothing magical. Now is sounds like with these newcomers that we will be able to order magic items and alchemical items to be made. Sounds like it will be expensive, but as rich as the crypt is, that shouldn't be a problem."
After finishing his meal, Elathras lays his pallet next to Kaztor's and goes to bed.
place whatever orders for whatever you want made with brvheart's new NPC's and go to bed, I assume the next morning were going to the fort to check on out stuff.
brvheart, will any items we order be ready for use when we get back from the fort?
brvheart |
Now here is the kicker. They are not doing this for altruism. For doing this they now have exclusive rights on magical item creation in Zelkor's Ferry. Obviously, this does not prevent you from making things back at the castle! Something most parties did not have here.
Mitleid |
That is more than fair.
On the next morning Mitleid will go with Dolgrin and the others and after long and hard consideration takes care that all unwanted items are sold and the money more or less evenly distributed.
Kaztor Strongforge |
As the next morning arose, Kaz awoke and gathered to meet the others for breakfast. "Now about those scrolls. Anyone want to hand me some gold so that I could craft a few? If so, what spells do we want?"
Elathras Narcinal |
Elathras nod in agreement with Kaztor. "That sounds like a great idea Kaztor. I have plenty of money for scrolls, tell me how much you need. What I don't have is a functional knowledge of magic. Are there things that could protect from evil or certain types of damage? Or possibly ways to see what's invisible? Even scrolls for healing may help, or scrolls that fix loss of strength. But like I said I don't know that much about what you can and can't do."
Before they leave for the fort Elathras helps Gruk, Dolgrin and Mitleid take the Items they aren't going to keep to the Market to get a fair price.
Once the items are sold Elathras recommends "We need to leave soon for the fort it's a long journey."
@ Kaz. I think scrolls would be wise, Elathras will pay for several, let me go look at the cleric list. Does anyone else have any ideas about scrolls?
@ Irenicus, I will look at spells for scrolls for Elathras to pay for. Also happy to help pay for any other scrolls.
@ brv did you say Sister Sheila would purchase anything we want to sell? Will she give us as good of price as the merchants in Zelkor's Ferry?
We are also going to need to come up with another supply list for the gear we lost, I will see if I can find the old one.
Dolgrin Brightlaughter |
Muleback cords
"We'd be well served by a set of cords of dwarven ingenuity for the hauling of treasures, but that's the only magic I'm aware of that we might want for ourselves. Wands of stitch and scrolls of lift-me-up are useful, but so is a backpack."
Dolgrin looks pointedly at the pants.
"Oh and rope, rations, and..."
He trails off at their blank looks, then explains.
"Muleback cording, for hauling heavy loads. Dwarven make, finest invention since Ale. Why, you can carry more Ale with a set of them, that might explain it."
brvheart |
They will give you book price, meaning 50% of market value on most items.
Elathras Narcinal |
Waking up the next morning, Elathras , Going to the bar, ”Thanks for letting me sleep in front of the fire iin the common room, Amelia. At least I didn’t have to chop wood for my supper. I’ve got this bag here of three hundred coppers. I hope you don’t mind if I leave it here so people can make change if they need too.” smiling and winking he goes to get his friends.
Waking Irenicus and Kaztor ”Come on you two lets go speak to the ladies we met that are doing the crafting, once we speak to them we can get on the road."
Approaching Brooke Fire Mage Elathras asks her. ” Excuse me mam, as you said yesterday your capable of making items for the right price. We have plenty of money and goods to trade so we would ask if you could make a few Items for use. The items in question are a bag of holding, an everburning torch and a travelers anytool. We have a castle outside of town that we are going to inspect and then we shall return to pick up the items before we return to the crypt. Does that give you enough time to craft the items? Of course we will pay in advance. ” Once Irenicus agrees on a price Elathras pays the woman.
Once they are finished with the wizard they approach the cleric, Sister Sheila, Elathras asks her. ”Excuse me Mam, we understand that you are able to craft items for the healing arts would you be able to craft two wands for curing light wounds, one scroll of ‘breath of life’ and one scroll of ‘gentle repose’? We will be on a trip that will take a couple of days and would like to pick up the after that. Of course we will pay in advance.” Once Kaztor agrees on the price Elathras pays the woman.
After speaking with the two crafters Elathras goes to the trading post Elathras speaks with Rasmus Pye about the other items on his list, Giving him a copy of the list. ”Rasmus, unfortunately we lost some items in the crypt, and we need to replace then. Here is a list I would like to pick up before we return to the crypt in a couple of days, I hope there isn’t anything unavailable.” He then pays the trading post owner.
Once the items are ordered Elathras gathers the rest of the team and heads toward the castle to see how things are going.
brvheart, is the fortress self sustaining or are we going to need to take them Item as well. Or can we just leave the 10% with them and assume they can handle their own purchases?
6 gp. 60 lbs. = 300 ft of rope

122.70 gp.
Elathras Narcinal |
Elathras nods in agreement, "That is fine, do you know which of your companions would know that spell? And yes a small bag should start us out."
I was thinking to use the bag, but a back pack and several other bags would be a good idea.
brvheart |
It is an arcane spell, just not in her book - major creation. Not something standard.
Elathras Narcinal |
Elathras nods his head, 'Thank you, we will be back in three days.'
As they leave the wizard. "I guess we won't get the anytool. We'll add a couple of tools to the mundane list when we get back from the fort."
Any reason we can't head to the fort?
Dolgrin Brightlaughter |
I can't think of any reason not
Dolgrin readies himself for adventure with a rousing song, and a warm bath. Meeting his friends outside, he claps Elathras on the shoulder.
"To the castle then, eh? Hopefully with less horrific wounding this time."
Elathras Narcinal |
'That is where the giant bird was and our first paladin died there. Elathras smiles and nods his head, "Yes with less horrific wounding this time."
Irenicus |
Irenicus pulls out the map he made to the fort and hands it to Elathras. "Let us be going. After those restorations are performed upon those who require it."
He leads the group to the woman who was preparing the spells, then towards the edge of town.
Elathras Narcinal |
After spending the morning on a pleasant hike, the team arrives at the fort. As the arrive outside of the gates, Elathras waves his arms "Ho the fort! We have returned open the gates!"
Dolgrin Brightlaughter |

"Now we get to see if they throw arrows and burning things at us or if they let us in. Ah, the simple joys of homeownership."

Open? There still are not any doors! The guards quickly come running buckling on their belts!
