I am adding the 320.5 to Kaz right now. I took away 4 gold for the stay in town.
Kaz plans on spending a good chunk of the money making scrolls. If there are requests, please post those here. Help me, help you!

We can hand wave most of it, just remember when selling stuff you only get 50%.

WARNING! FINANCIAL LECTURE (sort of)
Hi All!
This is a bit of along winded one, so bear with me...
Okay, it looks like I'll be the party's paymaster ("All Hail Wdrozgrúk!" - just kidding!). I've been looking at the spreadsheet brvheart was using. I hope I have the information right.
What I have from that sheet, for cash money is:
• Our first excursion brought in 2,690 GP. I think, I'm hazy on this one.
• Our latest excursion brought in 2,920 GP, 8 SP.
The thing I'm not sure of with the first amount was if that a seperate haul or part of the 2,920.8 more recently. Someone clarify that for me, if possible.
I will PM everyone with a link to the Google sheet I'm using for the party funds. Just a quick explanation on the sheets in the file:
• "Party Swag" is a list of all the goods we have as party loot and which character has them.
• "Party Distribution" is a different format of "Party Swag"
• (Let me know which of the two is easier to read and I will delete the less helpful of the two)
• "Prizes" is the total cash money value we're splitting for individual excursions
• Of course "prize" is what highwaymen and pirates would call a good haul
• "Share Calc" is just a spreadsheet to show the breakdown of one prize
• "Party Cash" is a sort of ledger for the funds of the party.
• "Summary" is a breakdown of the party's net worth, between cash and items
After each division of loot and cash, I'll assume each "Gentleman of Adventure" is on their own for keeping track of their own cash. Including such niceties as boozing it up! :)
I had not worked out the specifics for the selling of items held on to by party members. I guess it makes sense if:
• An item sold gets half its value (the PF standard) and that cash gets divided along with the rest of a 'prize'
• If a character wants to buy a party item held in common, he or she has to pay the party coffers out of his or her own pocket
• I think 3/4 value would be fair. The party coffers get more than they could selling it normally, and the buying party member gets it cheaper.
• If anything of the party's is sold to anyone else; 100% value goes to the party coffers!
I apologize if that's a bit long winded, but I want to set this up with as few problems as possible from the off.
Everyone let me know what you think of all this. And please do let me know if I got the right numbers after looking at my spreadsheet so I can correct any "oopsies". And who has sold what, so I can sort that out too.
Thanks...

Elathras Narcinal |

my only concern is paying 3/4 value instead of 1/2 for items out of the 'common items' we will only get 1/2 if we sell them, why tax a party member? That seems counter productive, I really don't want us to start trying to make a profit off of each other. also all of us want to purchase the items as cheap as possible, buying items from the group at "used price" is reasonable.
That was my intention when Elathras gave Gruk, the 100 gp for the bow, now if we find another bow that no one will use he can buy the next bow and sell this one without a loss. If he was going to have to pay 150, he would just keep the money and leave the bow as a "party Item" leaving the 100 gp. for himself to use. So let me know. if its 100 it will go in the party coffers, if its 150 he will keep the money and just "use" the bow,

Wdrozgrúk |

Fair point; I was just sort of playing it by ear. Selling gear for half the value for the coffers works too.
One possibility is to sell a party item to member for half it's full value and put that money into the coffers. If none of the other party members object to that purchase. Just a thought.
So, if Kaztor wanted to buy that funky MW heavy crossbow, worth 350 gp, he can pay 175 GP of his own money, which goes straight into the party's coffers. Or if Elathras wants to buy that heavy wooden shield, worth the princely sum of 7 GP, he can pay the coffers 3 GP 5 SP for it.
Keep in mind I am kind of playing this by ear, because I haven't seen any concise rules in PF for the sharing out of loot. I just thought the way the pirates of the 18th century shared their spoils was as good a guideline as any.
So, if nobody else objects, I'll assume party items (shields, armour, weapons, and magic items, etc.) given up for sale will get half their listed value, whoever they're sold to, and the cash for that sale will all go into the party's common coffers.
Was that long bow you mentioned the same one I have assigned to Mitleid?

Wdrozgrúk |

Can everyone tell me if this distribution of loot we found is correct?
• Amulet of Natural Armour (held by Dolgrin)
• Two Heavy Wooden Shields (Elathras holding one, Dolgrin the other)
• Battle Axe (held by Elathras)
• Masterwork Heavy Crossbow (held by Kaztor)
• Composite Long Bow (+1) (held by Mitleid, Elathras, or sold?)
• Studded Leather Armour (held by Virgil)
• Great Axe (held by Virgil)
I just want to make sure I've not missed anything or anybody...

Elathras Narcinal |

no the long bow assigned to mitlied was the one we found broken in the room of the captain gnoll in the castle, the one elathras has was in the bandits hideout.

Mitleid |

Can one get a MW Comp longbow +2Str here, or do we have to order it?
Just thinking even a little town can have a decent bowyer, all you need you get from forests and animals.

Virgil the Vigilant |

Can everyone tell me if this distribution of loot we found is correct?
• Amulet of Natural Armour (held by Dolgrin)
• Two Heavy Wooden Shields (Elathras holding one, Dolgrin the other)
• Battle Axe (held by Elathras)
• Masterwork Heavy Crossbow (held by Kaztor)
• Composite Long Bow (+1) (held by Mitleid, Elathras, or sold?)
• Studded Leather Armour (held by Virgil)
• Great Axe (held by Virgil)I just want to make sure I've not missed anything or anybody...
So, Virgil traded that Great Axe with one of the Orcs for his Falchion (hey, at least we didn't kill them).
The Studded Leather should also be in the pot. Early on, Virgil made contact with Kirbye Yordeste: an enigmatic rogue who sold him a MW chain shirt and some decent Thieves' tools/Extenders. I don't know if we took the payment for that out of the bank though.
I might not be on as often these next couple of weeks: something has come up. I will make an effort to post 1/day 5/per week though.

Kaztor Strongforge |

If Kaz needs to pay for the masterwork crossbow, he'd rather just sell it, as making scrolls for the party would be worth more in the long run than trying to use a crossbow taut he isn't going to be great with.

Elathras Narcinal |

no they are considering the crossbow 'a party item' you don't have to purchase it, when you select something else and it is sold the money will go into the kitty. Elathras "purchased" the longbow so we would have more money for group projects, like scrolls,
Kaztor, how much do you need to be able to start making scrolls?

Kaztor Strongforge |

I've got plenty to make scrolls now. As I'm a second level caster now, they will cost 25 gold per pop. So, just let me know if you all want any particular scrolls, just let me know.

brvheart |

You get to the castle around 11 in the morning without any encounters. Your two orcs challenge you at the gate.

brvheart |

That depends on what bow you want him to make. The DC is 15 + (2 x rating) for a Composite Str bow and you make the check once per week. It takes time to craft weapons.
To determine how much time and money it takes to make an item, follow these steps.
Find the item's price in silver pieces (1 gp = 10 sp).
Find the item's DC from Table: Craft Skills.
Pay 1/3 of the item's price for the raw material cost.
Make an appropriate Craft check representing one week's worth of work. If the check succeeds, multiply your check result by the DC. If the result × the DC equals the price of the item in sp, then you have completed the item. (If the result × the DC equals double or triple the price of the item in silver pieces, then you've completed the task in one-half or one-third of the time. Other multiples of the DC reduce the time in the same manner.) If the result × the DC doesn't equal the price, then it represents the progress you've made this week. Record the result and make a new Craft check for the next week. Each week, you make more progress until your total reaches the price of the item in silver pieces.
So for instance you want a composite short bow +2 str. The cost is 300 GP so he needs 75 GP and the total check needed is 3000SP in work.
His first check craft bows: 1d20 + 3 + 1 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 3 + 1 + 5 = 27
The DC is 19, so multiply 27x19=513. At that rate it would take him six weeks to make, but that was a really good roll.

brvheart |

Gorbaz is just making crude versions of his weapons for the orcs for half cost.
craft weapons: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
20x5=300 so he can make them in a week and there is nothing keeping him from working on multiple items and he had some already started.

Wdrozgrúk |

I would like to instruct Gorbaz to keep making Long Swords, Great Axes and Falchions when were are away.
Make one Long Sword, then one Great Axe, then one Falchion and repeat until told otherwise.
And pay him for the work on those pieces when we return.
That way we can get a nice little stash of weapons for our guards happening.
And how should we go about figuring out pay packets for the guards and Gorbaz?

Dolgrin Brightlaughter |

My daughter is in the hospital. Posting will be scant for two weeks.

Kaztor Strongforge |

Same here Dolgrin. Good thoughts to you and the family.
I'm going to start buying/crafting some scrolls tonight. Last chance for any suggestions for the Kaz man. I think a couple Magic Weapon scrolls might be called for at least. Any other first level cleric spells anyone is keen on?

Elathras Narcinal |

“There are 11 alcoves in the room, ten of which contain statues that appear to be idols or religious statues of gods. They are all quite different in style and appearance, but they seem to have one characteristic in common; all of them are depicted holding dice, cards, or some other sort of gambling imagery. The one alcove that does not contain a statue is the one at the middle of the north wall, directly across from the entrance. This alcove contains an altar with a bowl-shaped indentation in the top. Each of the three alcoves in the room’s northern wall has the indented impression of a hand pressed into the back wall of the alcove.”
I think the puzzle is related to prime numbers: 1 altar, 3 indented impressions, one indented impression in alcove # 5, one indented impression in alcove # 7, 11 alcoves all together,
I think we should put our hands in the impression in alcove #5 and #7 and put 13 coins in the bowl on the alter, signifying our wager, which will give us 6 prime numbers, the number of the alcove the altar is in.
Any opinions or other ideas?

brvheart |

There are impressions above the alter with the bowl also. What 13 coins are you putting in and who is putting their hands on the impressions?

Kaztor Strongforge |

This is scary, evil FGG stuff.
Have we found just a few coins here and there so far? I don't remember just a little stash of 13 yet.

Elathras Narcinal |

hey brvheart, thanks for the rapier, does it glow?
Light Generation: Fully 30% of magic weapons shed light equivalent to a light spell. These glowing weapons are quite obviously magical. Such a weapon can't be concealed when drawn, nor can its light be shut off

brvheart |

I will be going out of town later this week so will be off Thursday and Friday.

Elathras Narcinal |

brvheart |

It appears we have now two players out so we may have to put the game on hold until at least one returns.

Elathras Narcinal |

I was also thinking that a second person with "trap skills" (disable device) may not hurt, no offense to Virgil.
On a separate note, has anyone noticed that Conan spent years as a thief but no one called him "Conan, the Rogue"

Wdrozgrúk |

Fair point. I had been tinkering with the idea of taking a level, maybe two, in future as a slayer. Partly for some combat buff and more skills, but also because it would give Gruk big boosts to his reflex and fortitude saves. But I'll save that for later, because I get an AoE bonus spell at third level as a sorcerer (burning hands).
