Kyras Darksoul |

A pleasure to meet you as well Niles. I am Kyres. I seem to be intact, at least for now.

Rannik |

"For those that are injured, just stay near me, I should be able to take care of that quickly enough." Niles climbs down from his horse and takes out his holy symbol. "Now let's see, I haven't needed to do this in a while." He concentrates for a moment and then a burst of healing energy travels outward from him. For good measure, he does it a second time. "There, anyone still hurt?"
Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 3) = 5
Channel Energy: 2d6 ⇒ (2, 4) = 6

Kyzen |

Kyzen needed none of the healing, but still wanted to make the healer appreciated...
"Thx! I'm feeling much better now!"

Maffei- |

"It's very kind. My wounds are all closed up"

Kakrish and those that follows him walk into the temple. Once inside, you find yourself in something that look more like a bank/business than a regular temple. As you look around, you send the priestess waiting for you in a doorway just some steps away from the main door. "This way now." Following her, you walk into some sort of the examining room. There is some sort of bed/table in the middle of the room. She points at it while looking at Kakrish. "Take off your armour and sit there." As you start doing so, she leaves the room.
Once the armour is off, Kakrish walks over to the table and sit on it while waiting for the woman to come back. It takes a few minutes, but she returns with a small chest with her. You remember seeing it tied to the saddle of the horse she was about to ride outside. She places it on a counter along the wall and walks over to Kakrish. Without any warning, she grabs the dwarfs head with both hands and start moving it around has she examines it.
"Humm... Pale skin, sunken eyes, black rings under them." She takes a closer look at the eyes. "Eyes are a bit red." She let go of the head and place her hand on KaKrish forehead. "I don't feel any high temperature. So doesn't feel like a fever." She grabs a small piece of flat wood. "Open your mouth." She jams the piece of wood on Kakrish tongue and look deeper in his mouth. "Everything looks normal there, but better hygiene wouldn't hurt."
She walks to the chest and grabs two items from it. She first gives a bent piece of metal to Kakrish. "Try to bend this further in." When he does, she just produces a small hammer from her pocket. While you are wondering what she is planning to do with that, she just unceremously hit Kakrish knee with it. The impact, while light, is enough to make the leg jerk up. "So, strength and reflex are fine. It is just your vitality that is gone. You really shouldn't fight an undead creature if you are planning to let them drain you."
She returns to the chest and start digging into it. "Let see what we have here." She pulls out a scroll case and from it, she pulls out a single scroll. She unrolls it and looks at it for a second. "Yep, this should do." She walks back to Kakrish and start reading the scroll, activating the magic stored in it. At the end, she touches Kakrish. Immediately, Kakrish regain some colours and looks way healthier. "There, you shall receive the bill by the end of the day." With that, she walks back to the chest, stores her things back in the chest and leave the room.

Kyzen |

As soon as the healer leave the room, Kyzen ironically says... "Wow... such a nice personality..." then turn to Kakrish... "How do you feel? Up for a beer!" Then looking at the group... "What the hell, my threat!!! We'll settle the reste later..."

Kyras Darksoul |

Kyras observes and resists taking notes. You know... he says after the cleric leaves the room an entire industry could be formed around what we just witnessed. Nah, no one would put up with it.

Kakrish Stonetoe |

At first Kakrish doesn't know quite what to think about the priestess's actions but eventually he does't care. Whatever she's doing, it makes him feel better. When she leaves he jumps up from the table.
"Wow. I really do feel better. Probably look prettier too."
He puts his armor back on. "Ok. Some refreshment would be good."
Fully restored?

Rannik |

As you walk back outside, you find Niles sitting on his horse. "Well, seems like she did a good job there. Is her bedside manner still the worst?" He chuckles a bit as he says the last part. "She means well, but her people skill isn't the best." He turns his horse north and continue talking to you. "Why don't you come to the Shrine of the Seven Roses. We have exquisite wine, pleasant music and most of all, I would like to start sketching you for a great painting to commemorate this epic time we live in. It is not every day that a small town see the evolution of a group of people preparing to face an evil dragon."
@Kakrish. Yep, fully restored.

Kyzen |

"That sounds good to me!"

Maffei starts laughing... "You may find that sketching me up may be a somewhat more difficult task than expected..."

Kakrish Stonetoe |

Kakrish follows along. "Ok. Now everyone, remember, the town recognizes us as heros. We have to act the part. It is a grave responsibility. Maybe you should let me do all of the talking."

Rannik |

Niles laugh with Maffei. "Oh my dear, you would be surprised at what I can draw." He guides you to the shrine which is just a few houses away. While the outside looks like an ordinary house, the inside almost look like an art gallery. You spend a good evening there having wine and food, listening to the music and posing for some of Niles sketches. Eventually, day turns to night and you are invited to sleep there. Whether you did or not, you wake up the next morning completely refreshed and ready to face the next challenge.

Rannik |

Rested and ready for the new day, you walk over to Bassy's house, hoping to have your latest treasure identified. The old gnome is happy to see you, her usual sarcastic tone is absent as she starts looking at all the old items you brought over. Her hands shake slightly as she examines the treasures. One by one, she identifies them and pass them back to you. When done, she looks at you with hope. "Go now, put those items to good use."

Breastplate of luck +3, Once per week, the armor allows its wearer to require that an attack roll made against him be rerolled. He must take whatever consequences come from the second roll. The wearer’s player must decide whether to have the attack roll rerolled before damage is rolled.
+1 keen composite longbow (+2 str)
This ability doubles the threat range of a weapon. Only piercing or slashing melee weapons can be keen. If you roll this special ability randomly for an inappropriate weapon, reroll. This benefit doesn’t stack with any other effects that expand the threat range of a weapon (such as the keen edge spell or the Improved Critical feat).
Wyrmsmite (a +2 dragonbane transformative longsword)
A bane weapon excels against certain foes. Against a designated foe, the weapon’s enhancement bonus is +2 better than its actual bonus. It also deals an extra 2d6 points of damage against such foes
A transformative weapon alters its shape at its wielder’s command, becoming any other melee weapon of the same general shape and handedness; the weapon’s categorization as simple, martial, or exotic is irrelevant. For example, a Medium transformative longsword can take the shape of any other Medium one-handed melee weapon, such as a scimitar, flail, or trident, but not a Medium light or two-handed melee weapon (such as a Medium short sword or a Medium greatsword). It can even take the shape of comparable weapons of different size categories. For example, a Small greatsword is a two-handed slashing weapon for a Small character, but is a one-handed slashing weapon for a Medium character, which is very similar to a Medium longsword; a Small transformative greatsword can thus become an actual Medium longsword, usable by a Medium creature without the –2 penalty for using a weapon of the wrong size. The weapon retains all of its abilities, including enhancement bonuses and weapon special abilities, except those prohibited by its current shape. For example, a keen transformative weapon functions normally in the form of a piercing or slashing weapon, but cannot use the keen special ability when in the shape of a bludgeoning weapon. When unattended, the weapon reverts to its true shape.
10 +1 dragonbane arrows
A bane weapon excels against certain foes. Against a designated foe, the weapon’s enhancement bonus is +2 better than its actual bonus. It also deals an extra 2d6 points of damage against such foes.
arrow of dragon slaying
This +1 arrow is keyed to a particular type or subtype of creature. If it strikes such a creature, the target must succeed at a DC 20 Fortitude save or take 50 points of damage. Note that even creatures normally exempt from Fortitude saves (undead and constructs) are subject to this attack. When keyed to a living creature, this is a death effect (and thus death ward protects a target).

First I am back. :) Had a good con. Second, I am only proficient with a short bow, and not a great archer anyway. I cannot use the breastplate either as I am only proficient in light armor. But I could of course use Wyrmsmite and might be a good candidate for it as I can have energy resistance up for the fight and if properly buffed am a decent melee fighter. I know Hoga is also a good candidate but might be our best archer? I suspect that Maffei and Kyzen would be better but are likely not proficient.

Hoga the half orc |

That's the issue, I think. Hoga's proficient, of course, but he does best as a melee guy. However, specific archery equipment changes that approach. If someone can use the sword, or at least transform it into something they're proficient with, we've got another good tool. An extra 2d6 against dragons is excellent.

Kyras Darksoul |

So what is the go-forward plan? Can Hoga use the breastplate? I think Kakrish can. And the bow is not only an extra 2d6. Bane arrows are +3 vs their bane. So its +2 more to hit (also excellent vs dragons.) and +2 more damage. So a shot is +3 to hit and will do 1d8+5+2d6. Not to mention the crit range increase and the one DC20 save or take 50 points of damage.

Hoga the half orc |

Looking at it again, I think we should give the armor and the sword to Hoga, and the bow to Kakrish, since he is proficient. Hoga can use the longsword two-handed, so he can make it hurt a dragon. The armor really helps his AC, too.
Kakrish can raise his dex with a spell. This is a fun turn in the story. We're loaded for dragon, which is never dull. lol
EDIT: No, he can't, unless there's a spell I'm not familiar with. He can raise con, str, wis and cha. That's it.

Kakrish Stonetoe |

I'm at a +6 with the bow. I think Hoga is +7. However, I think Hoga would be better to use melee. I can buff him with blessings then stand back and shoot arrows and something. I'm pretty sure I could get a cat's grace potion to raise my dex, right? I've already got a +1 breastplate so Hoga should take that armor too.
Now what about the transformative sword? I also think that should go to Hoga.
Kyzen, Kyras, Hernvet???

Kyzen |

Nothing usable by either Maffei of Kyzen... :-(

Kyras Darksoul |

I am good with Hoga taking the armor for sure and I guess I can give up any claim to the sword for now even though I think Kyras could use it just as well. BUT don't use it as a long sword. Transform it into a great sword! If Hoga goes down Kyras can pick it up and keep up the fight. Its such a valuable weapon it totally throws off any sense of loot balance. ts near an artifact for our level.

Kyras Darksoul |

Ah, right. My cursory read did not catch that. Strangely, by the RAW it could become a small fauchard or greatsword. I am a little concerned that loot distribution is getting out of whack and sent you a PM.

Hoga the half orc |

I think it's more in line with the story. Hoga doesn't have great armor, but this is +3 medium armor. Suitable for fighting dragons. His AC goes up by 5, with no penalty on movement.
If anyone in this party is the guy to run up and attack a dragon with a dragonbane sword, I'd choose Hoga. That's what he's good at.
I think our job here is to fight it on our terms, not the dragon's. Otherwise, we could get wiped out. I think the treasure imbalance will take care of itself, if we live.

Kyzen |

I have no issu with the actual distribution of the magic loot, it all about what's is best for the team to win... Kyzen will only need to have some sort of magical improvement before we face it... ;-)

Rannik |

@Hernvet, I notice that you haven't done your level up yet. You might want to do that before the group head back out.
With the loot identified and distributed, the group now finds themselves free to either head back out to the monastery or gather more supplies. With time ticking down on the Dragon threat, it doesn't seem like there is time to lounge around.

Kyras Darksoul |

When time allows Kyras will go and check on the weapon he was having enchanted.

Hoga the half orc |

When time allows Kyras will go and check on the weapon he was having enchanted.
Hoga will go with him, if that's OK with Kyras. The half-orc is intrigued with magic weapons now, having just gotten a very specialized one.

Rannik |

Kyras walks over to the smith to see if his order is ready. Once there you are greeted by a large half-Orc with a friendly smile. "Mister Darksoul, welcome back to my shop. I was hoping you would pass by today. That special order you placed is finally ready. Give me a moment and I will get it for you." He walks toward the back and disappear for a moment.
Minutes later, he walks back out holding a package. "I took some liberty and engraved dragons on the sides of the blade. I hope you don't mind, but I was inspired by that night... you know." He unties the rope holding the cloth wrapping it and passes it to Kyras. Inside, Kyras find a very beautiful weapon. The decoration adds just enough that it makes this weapon go from a simple tool to a work of art.
---------------------
Later that day, the group starts heading back out to the monastery. Hopefully, you will find out more there about where that dragon might be hiding and what exactly is he planning. The monastery is about three to four hours away, giving enough time to get there about mid afternoon. When the place is finally in view, the first thing you notice is that it is still in very good condition for a place that has been abandoned for years. The second thing you notice is that a stealthy approach won't be easy.
