Please post any questions about anything here. I would like to keep the game play thread for RP only.

Garrik here.

How many of the other people are using the die scores? I've been thinking of switching to the buy system.. but if no one else is, i'll stick with my dice.

I'm using the dice rolls, which actually in my case came out to exactly a 20 point buy.

Half-Elf Gunslinger 2 | HP: 24/24| AC: 16/ FF 13/ T 13| Fort: +4 Ref: +5 Will: +2 | Perception: +9| Init: +3
Matilda's Bite:
[dice=Matilda]1d20+5[/dice][dice=damage]1d8[/dice]

I am see what my stats would be like if i switch.

20 points
Str: 11
Dex: 16
Con: 14
Int: 13
Wis: 15
Cha: 10

If i do this, my HP would go up by 2, my skill points would increase. My craft Alchemy/Weapons would also go up since it takes strength.

GM, what do you think?

I think you go for the point buy, personally.

And here is Krumsh! I was going on and around which kind of Druid I wanted to play... and finally decided which one ^^

Dotted with Hedrak, and using the actual dice rolls.

@Hedrak - I hope you can roll with the punches :)

Well, Hedrak is more a 'punch back' kinda guy, but we'll see.

Anything I should know about Half-Orcs, GM Bourgeoisx? :P

Btw, craft skills are all int-based, not str. Not sure how much it matters, though.

:( I might have seen something next to it that said strength. Odd. Need to fix that in the morning.

@Garrik- The only reason to said ppl could use the "buy points" is because I was afraid that if a lot of ppl got low rolls , they would not play. Personal, when I play, I always use rolls. I just like trying to make something work with what the D&D Gods gave me :). That being said, you DID get some s+*@ty rolls :(. I think I would have went human in order to get the two (+2) to stats to help even out. you still have time to think it over. I will let you have until I start the game tomorrow do make changes.

@Hedrak- I going to post some info in the campaign thread that will explain some things. But basically being an half-orc, you will be treated ... differently :).

@Everyone- Please add char basic info under your "Classes/Levels". Like Garrik has. Half-Elf Gunslinger 1 | HP: 10/10| AC: 16/ FF 13/ T 13| Fort: +2 Ref: +5 Will: +2 | Perception: +6| Init: +3

Also, I will be using the campaign thread as a kinda journal/info reference. It will store NPC info and other things I think are import.

Reporting in. What should I use to buy gear. I have been using Ultimate Equipment but If you want I could just use CRB

you can use/buy anything off any paizo book. I use this site for all info, feats, spells, equipment, ect. http://www.d20pfsrd.com

The only thing you can not use is anything that says it came from a 3rd party.

Awesome thanks

I went ahead and start the game since it seems most ppl post early in the AM. Feel free to jump in when ever your ready.

Okay, updated Garrik.

NOTE: i am living in Japan, so my posts will be from nowish (8am) until 10 pm.

It's actually 9:30 PM for me right now, I live in the US, but I'll be active until the early morning so it's all good.

Human Fighter 1 HP 11/11 AC: 19 TAC: 11 FF: 18 Saves: F:3 R:1 W:0 Init:+1 Perception +1

Are we using Bold or italics for speaking?

Half-Elf Gunslinger 2 | HP: 24/24| AC: 16/ FF 13/ T 13| Fort: +4 Ref: +5 Will: +2 | Perception: +9| Init: +3

I think bold stands out much stronger than italics when it's in the middle of a huge paragraph.

up to you. since I am using this name to post stuff. I will be using bolt for the char speaking and italics for what there saying.

Just FYI, going to just RP until I see everyone post at lest once tomorrow. this way I can get a feel for when and how often ppl are on. I will be moving on by days end tomorrow.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

After conducting some research, it seems that it's fairly standard to use bold for speech and italics for thoughts.

Half-Elf Gunslinger 2 | HP: 24/24| AC: 16/ FF 13/ T 13| Fort: +4 Ref: +5 Will: +2 | Perception: +9| Init: +3
Matilda's Bite:
[dice=Matilda]1d20+5[/dice][dice=damage]1d8[/dice]

It's somewhat standard, but if the GM wants to do it like that, it's up to him :3 However... I do have a request for the maps that you use... Instead of using Roll20, Google Docs or any other website.. could i talk you into Google Slides. People can easily access them from phones/tablets and move their pieces.

@Variel: I can switch it up for a bit and see if yall like it better.

@Garrik: never used google slide. will look into it at work tomorrow.

Half-Elf Gunslinger 2 | HP: 24/24| AC: 16/ FF 13/ T 13| Fort: +4 Ref: +5 Will: +2 | Perception: +9| Init: +3
Matilda's Bite:
[dice=Matilda]1d20+5[/dice][dice=damage]1d8[/dice]

I would really appreciate it if you did switch to bold. It makes it a hell of a lot easier to see dialog inside of a big block of text. Some simple writing tips would be to add that characters name at the end of one of his sentences, or at the beginning of the paragraph. Never have two different people talking in the same paragraph and to use " marks " .... this is coming from 6 years of creative writing in college. :#

Whatever you want is fine, the rhetoric is that bold is like...louder, I suppose? And then italics are pretty normal for thoughts in other written mediums, so that helps, which makes sense, but again, whatever you want is fine.

By the way, my next post may seem a little bit antagonistic or confrontational, that's just the character, not the player.

Half-Elf Gunslinger 2 | HP: 24/24| AC: 16/ FF 13/ T 13| Fort: +4 Ref: +5 Will: +2 | Perception: +9| Init: +3
Matilda's Bite:
[dice=Matilda]1d20+5[/dice][dice=damage]1d8[/dice]

But they have bigger and snmaller to express that.

Indeed, indeed, but bold also stands out more, as you mentioned. The loudness thing is because speech should naturally be louder than thought, and so if a decision must be made to assign bold and italics to speech and thought then naturally bold is for speech and italics for thoughts.

I like bold for it as well. Honestly, I care either way, so long as we're all doing the same thing.

In other news, I've managed to post to gamelay, finally.

Perception +12 (+9 for Raziel) <> HP: 42/42

I say bold ;)

Basic info added to header.

Gameplay post incoming.

Olaf. can you add a picture?

Apart from Krumsh, were not wearing our armor if it's heavier than light, I take it?

And Krumsh is using medium armor. To be exact -and badass- awesome horn armor.

Human Fighter 1 HP 11/11 AC: 19 TAC: 11 FF: 18 Saves: F:3 R:1 W:0 Init:+1 Perception +1

I am not sure what kind of cover the two closest to me have but it looks like both would have partial cover if I tried to attack from where I am. Correct me if I am wrong.

@John. yes the blue one is behind a waste tall bush and the other one is behind a tree.

@krumsh. Enjoy the dinosaur :)

Hedrak is definitely sleeping in his armor :D

Quote:
Sleeping in Armor: A character who sleeps in medium or heavy armor is automatically fatigued the next day. He takes a –2 penalty on Str and Dex and can't charge or run. Sleeping in light armor does not cause fatigue.

So I'm definitely leaving mine off for the night, I think. But you have endurance, of course, so no biggie.

I'll probably end up buying a Chain Shirt nightie the next time we're in town and I've 100gp to spare.

@Garrik, correct me if I am wrong. (no to good with firearms) but your pistol only has a based range of 20ft. The bandit you said you were firing at was the one in the back(white). since he is outside your 1st range increment, your attack would be at a -2 and I would get full AC.

When firing an early firearm, the attack resolves against the target’s touch AC when the target is within the first range increment of the weapon, but this type of attack is not considered a touch attack for the purposes of feats and abilities such as Deadly Aim. At higher range increments, the attack resolves normally, including taking the normal cumulative –2 penalty for each full range increment. Unlike other projectile weapons, early firearms have a maximum range of five range increments.

Human Fighter 1 HP 11/11 AC: 19 TAC: 11 FF: 18 Saves: F:3 R:1 W:0 Init:+1 Perception +1

@GM OK so I looked up the enlarge person spell but I still have a couple of questions about how you would rule.
First if I gain a +2 STR and a -1 on attack rolls wouldn't those negate each other and my attack roll would be the same as before. Also since I wasn't holding my ax at the time would it enlarge when I picked it up. If not I think I should try to resist because I am getting a -2 to AC that is already low because of my lack of armor.

@Olaf A "chain shirt nightie" Haha, but actually a really good idea.

Your axe gets bigger when you pick it up.

Is it okay to five-foot step off the map? I'd like to move a little so I can avoid having Krumsh in the AoE of my channel. I can only Selective Channel two people at a time right now.

I'd like to be in the position I've put the token in, if that's okay.

@john. to stream line things and since I was not to clear at the start of the fight. I will allow your axe to grow to. Normal, if you did not have it on you I would not. but I want you all to be fully ready for this fight but I was not clear about that.

@holy, ya. that's fine.

Human Fighter 1 HP 11/11 AC: 19 TAC: 11 FF: 18 Saves: F:3 R:1 W:0 Init:+1 Perception +1

In my last post I kind of took 2 move actions and a standard by picking up both my shield and my ax but I thought it made more sense to do it that way. If that's uncool then I'll leave the ax on the ground and get it next turn. Also my new AC is a 17 with the +4 from total defensive.

your cool john.

Yeah, the AC penalty on enlarge person isn't great. The really good thing about enlarge person though is that it gives you increased reach, and the fact that blue can't 5' step into the difficult terrain means you hit him and he'll provoke if he wants to hit you back, and provoke if he tries to chase Marcus, which seems good. That was my thinking anyway.

Also shouldn't the John picture be taking up a 10' square now?
