Maybe it's just my group's house-rule that you can stand in the same square as someone who is prone. If that's the case then Thovar will simply stand near Rogar and use the aid another action, I suppose. Or if Rogar is moving back anyway, Thovar will step in and attack.

Rogar raises to his feet and moves near the slaver:"Oh... well... that went badly..." then he speaks tho the vudrani:"you get exactly one chance to surrender... otherwise you die here and now Pildapush. What would it be?
Intimidation check: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22

I think its a grey are, but you would have hit even with squeezing so its all good.
"Ww we shall see who dies! I can't let any of you leave here alive or I'll be ruined! Better dead than poor!"
Alafair's missile hits home and with a scream the Vudrani hurls himself at Rogar, but comes nowhere near stabbing the larger amn with his feeble thrust.
Successfully demoralized.
Everyone is up!
Pildapush vs Rogar: 1d20 ⇒ 7

Mustering the last of her arcane energies, Alafair blasts him with the last of her Magic Missiles.
Dmg: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
"We are happy to oblige, then if that is your wish." After the blast she withdraws her wand of Cure Light wounds, planning to move to Rogar next round.

Rogar shakes his head:"Very well then!"

In case Rogar didn't finish him off, Tromos will chuck in his last Frost Bomb, using Precise Bombs to ignore adjacent allies.

Thovar moves forward with supernatural speed (provoking an attack of opportunity) and attacks the slaver with his warhammer from a flanking position, his attacks still guided by Abadar's favor.

The feeble slaver is easily downed by a terrifying assault from the Pathfinders! Pildapush gets his wish and the slaves roused by the battle begin to cheer seeing their captors fall,
"Please are you here to free us? Are you Andorans? Please let us go!" The slaves point you to a set of heavy locks at the stern which will release their bonds.
Upon Pildapush you find a masterwork dagger, and a neat ledger showing slave sales including one Lady Anilah from Fredrik - there also appears to have been another name, but it has been scraped from the page.
On the fallen gnoll you find another masterwork whip, and masterwork handaxe, a set of hid earmour and a potion of cure light wounds. You also find an iron key around his neck, which looks like it will fit the door he and Pildapush were guarding.

Alafair pushes the CLW potion to Rogar, saving the charge from her wand.
"Of course we aren't Andorans! What an insulting suppositition! Do we look like populist rabble? For that we should leave you in chains...." says the haughty Taldan, sniffing.
She scoops up the key, assuming it will reveal the Lady Anilah, but being cautious, she hands it to Lia, indicating she should check it for traps.
"If you behave yourselves, we will free you before we leave this floating pigpen. Now be good slaves, and be still."

![]() |

Lia takes the key and, following the directions, examines it for traps. After that, she takes a look at the door as well. "No need to free them. Criminals serving sentence are frequently sold into slavery. I've no doubt a number of these are such. Pray tell, why should we free you and not sell you for a tidy profit?"
Perception(traps): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12 on the key
Perception(traps): 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20 on the lock
Bluff: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (12) + 6 = 18
Assuming she finds no traps on the door or the key, Lia will unlock the former with the latter and enter with rapier drawn.

![]() |

Lia finds no traps, and the slaves call out various iterations of, "I am no criminal I was seized by stinking gnolls, please! My ship was boarded! My village was raided..."
Opening the door Lia sees a single dark haired light skinned woman curled into a ball in the corner. The woman looks up flinching at the light and raising her arms as if expecting a blow.

![]() |

Sheathing her rapier, Lia takes a quick stride to the woman's side and crouches down. "It's alright, Lady Salhar. The Grand Ambassador sent us to rescue you."

![]() |

"Oh, thank Asmodeus! I owe you all a debt I can never repay," she rises and takes a breath, regaining some of her court bred composure, "please escort me from this wretched galley. I never wish to see a dog again as long as I live, let alone one of those dreadful gnolls!"

![]() |

Alafair offers the woman some food and water from her pack. "We will have you out of her soon. Any other baddies around, miss?"
If no other threats, Alafair will cast detect magic in the hold, and failing to find anything, she'll begin escorting the former captive back to her residence.

Thovar makes sure to get a good look at the ledger before going around to the slaves and making sure none of them are on the brink of death. He begins to release them and say prayers blessing their newfound freedom.

![]() |

Rogar shakes his head:"We are not andorans, that's true enough. But I see no reasons to keep these people in chains. Free them, their wicked masters paid for their freedom with their lives... besides civilized people have serfs, not slaves!"
Rogar asks for the keys of the slaves shackles having decided to free them.

![]() |

"Slavery, serfdom. The same thing, really. One is just dressed up in pretty words and prettier ideals. But do as you will." Lia will assist the lady off the ship, then return to search the ship and bodies for valuables, followed by picking the locks on the slaves if the key to their shackles isn't forthcoming.
Perception: 20 = 20 Becomes 30, or 31 to spot a trap
Disable Device: 20 = 20 Becomes 31

Lia's reluctance is no bar to her skill and she returns to the ship to free the slaves. The slaves flee quickly anxious to avoid any suggestion of further captivity and head for the Andoran Consolate enmass. Lady Anilah is suitably grateful for her rescue and when the group head back to Venture-Captain Alissa Moldreserva she gives a glowing report of your rescue.
The Venture Captain eyes you up and down and concedes grudgingly, "You handled that well. Guess I had you wrong. The lot of you may prove useful to the Society yet. Get yourselves a drink, on me."
Congrats folks scenario complete! You each gain 457gp, plus your day job results, and 2 PP - you get the second for not incriminating yourselves with the Token Guard while breaking into Pildapush's shop. It will likely be Sunday before I send out Chronicles :) Thanks for playing.

I was wondering what the secondary success condition was gonna be; wouldn't have guessed that. Great going, team! And thanks, GM.
