Fiona tries the lobster and comments politely, "The garlic sauce is truly exquisite, baroness. Thank you for your generosity." She waits with the wine until the others drink.
The witch winces at Eryzule's comments and the baroness' response. The gods knew she wasn't an expert on this type of social event, but Ery was on a completely different level...

"I would offer a game. Something to create a memory in which we all can bond and share... Especially myself."
Ery motioned over one of the butlers and whispered into the mains ear.
"Strong alcohol, preferably something less harsh...maybe fruity? If you please."
Returning his gaze to the baroness...
"I offer the simple game of Last-man/women-drinking." Ery's face stretches into a fiendish smirk.
"Baroness, I'd invite you to join such merriment. I would dearly hope you would, at least for my own sake."

He just suggested what? Oh Ladies no.
Ery, as we just talked about, we have an appointment early tomorrow morning to clear out a bunch of deadly traps. I have no desire to do so with a hangover. So I at least am out from such "entertainment".
Now perhaps if everyone wanted to retire after zis wonderful dinner for some music and dancing, Zat is a different zing all together.

![]() |

"Memories, Tereze, Memories."
Ery gave a wink.

![]() |

I'm fine with taking time to have a little RP fun! It's not often that you really get to delve this deep into PFS characters. Which is why I love this group!
Gwen gives Locke an exasperated look when he tells the chef how better to perform his own food. She didn't know much about such situations, but she was fairly certain such behavior was considered uncouth. She takes a drink of the wine, savoring the sweetness on her tongue, but nearly spits out the mouthful when Ery offers up... She then sputters and chokes as she works to keep the wine in her mouth. She coughs for a few moments, holding her hand up to let the others know that she is okay.
I'm with Tereze tonight. I prefer not to face our danger tomorrow with a splitting headache. I am enjoying tasting this wonderful food!" She smiles with genuine enthusiasm to the Baroness.

![]() |

And i would have said it if i got served truffels by another chef. ^^
"This i have not yet had opportunity to eat, lobster, and it's very tasty, lady baroness."
"Pardon me, though. I see you and your butler are kind of tense with my vocal condition. Allow me to do something about it."
Locke picks a couple of ingredients from a few pockets, and mixes them, before drinking the concoction.
Here goes, i wonder what the result will be.

"This any better?"
A young man's voice is now in the throat.
"Although the effect won't last for too long, unfortunately."

StephNyan |

The baroness smiles friendly at Eryzule. "You suggest it with such charm that I might've agreed to it in my younger years, Eryzule dear. I must however decline. Drinking too much isn't good for my health at this age, and I'd like to the conversations polite and civilized."
She blinks for a moment when Locke starts about his voice and drinks a concoction to change it. "Fear not, I won't judge you for things out of your control."
"I'm glad to hear you enjoy it, Fiona dear," the baroness says as she turns to Fiona, and shows her a mischievous grin. "Just you wait for the dessert. It's the main event of tonight!"
When you're all done eating your lobsters the desserts are served. You're each presented with a crystal goblet. "I present you with our Golden Opulence Sundae. It's made with Osirian vanilla ice cream covered in 23-carat gold leaf, drizzled with Mwangi chocolate, and topped with pieces of Keleshian chocolate, gold-coated almonds, candied fruit from Goka, and sweet Grand Passion Caviar infused with passion fruit, orange and armagnac. Enjoy!"

![]() |
Fiona stares at the opulent sundae as it is being served. "Are we supposed to eat the gold?" she whispers to one of the waiters. She looks around to see the others' responses, then tastes a bit and thanks the baroness, but excuses herself from eating more since she'd already eaten more than her usual.

![]() |

Food with gold leaf is totally nasty to me. Including that vile Goldshloger garbage. Cavier isn't my favorite either. Fine as seasoning but way too salty to be on ice cream. So even if it didn't cost a ton, I could never see me ordering that monstrosity.

![]() |

Gwen stares at the desert with unabashed disbelief when Edgar indicates they eat the gold leafing. "Truly? But would that not upset the stomach?" She shrugs, but decides not to offend anyone and begins eating the delicacy. The salty caviar causes her to squint a bit, but she works past it into the remainder of the ice cream with delight! "I've never had iced cream before! The gold was a little strange, but..." She looks at Edgar, hoping not to be judged for her question... "What was the orange stuff on top? Was that the caviar? And what exactly is caviar?"
Agreed. I've drank Goldschloger before and did not find it to be appealing; however, that is oft the way of the filthy rich that inherit their wealth and have not learned the value of their wealth...

StephNyan |

Exactly what Gwen wrote. Some people are just too rich to realize the value of some things in life.
"The orange... stuff... is indeed caviar," Edgar responds to Gwendallyn, after which Locke fills Gwendallyn in on what caviar actually is.
The baroness subtly nods for Edgar to approach her, which he does. She whispers something in his ear.
"Yes, madam."
"Maybe offer them some more of that. I think they'd like that better."
"Will do, madam."
Edgar straightens himself and says, "We have more of the ice cream, if you wish to enjoy just the cream and not the additions."
He expectantly looks at you to see who wants some regular ice cream.

Oh yes please. Tereze says in a releaved tone, her desert completely untouched.

.."No, thank you. I'm fine."

Fiona tried a bit of the gold-plated ice cream, but she thought it felt metallic so she didn't eat much of it. The regular ice cream, however, was much better. She forgets to pace herself, and ends up eating all her ice cream while most of the others are still starting. Looking around, she blushes a bit and busies herself cleaning whatever's left of her bowl.

![]() |

I have returned!
Nearing the end of the dinner Urbar looks a bit confused. The food was alright but the portions too few to still his large hunger. Before desserts he grabs some of his trail rations and starts chewing dried jerky and bread, giving some to his wolf.
Happy with his full stomach he tastes the ice cream, leaving the gold aside, and nods appreciatively.
"Good, but no fruit for desserts? Fruit's always good."

StephNyan |

After some more polite conversation dinner draws to a close. The baroness asks you to join her in her study for a brief moment before Edgar sees you out, so you can see the contract she had made for you.
"4,800 gold pieces for each of you, and access to the auction, for the services I requested," the baroness says as she hands you the contract.
The contract's just for flavor. No risk of selling your soul is involved! :)

![]() |

Tereze reads over the contract and pauses then looks up:
I believe ze figure you mentioned over dinner was a round 5000. Has ze job changed so zat it is less now?

![]() |

Urbar tastes one of the candies and spits it out next to his charm, making a disgusted face.
"Sour..."
He mumbles some more to himself about fancy food.
Hearing the numbers he holds up his hands and does some counting on his fingers, he eventually nods and seems okay with the number.
"Is there any more aid we can expect? Maybe some dogs to send in front of us?"
He says matter of factly, remembering the last time he walked right into a trap.

![]() |

"We have a dog. You recently acquired her..."

![]() |

Stop it right now, we are NOT Sending living animals to zeir deaths to find traps! If worst comes to worst I will summon something to scout or have you heartless men scout and just heal you if you get hurt.

![]() |

If I was summoning ze real creature I would agree, But I just summon a planar reflection of ze gods servants. What happens to zem, causes a brief pain but no real harm to ze actual creatures. Zat is why zey can only stay for a bit and always appear unharmed when zey arrive.
Don't know if that is cannon, but that is how she understands it to work (and justifies it to herself)

![]() |

Ery was about to 'correct' tereze but simply nodded instead.

![]() |

Urbar glares at Ery for his remark about his companion but before he is able to say anything Tereze shuts off the talk.
After Tereze's explanation about the summoning he looks at Locke.
"Have you acquired your barrel yet? I am not sending my companion in there and the others seem against live animals."

![]() |
"4800 or 5000, I think the baroness has shown us her gratitude with her generous hosting of us for this dinner," Fiona makes another attempt at proper etiquette, forgetting her timid self. "I'm sure we can cooperate on the matter as friends, and that she will give us all the assistance she can."

StephNyan |

"That was 5000 gold pieces total, Tereze dear. I had it changed to 4800 a person."
The module says 5000 total, but I changed it to what your chronicle sheets will give each of you! :)
The baroness looks a bit confused. "I cannot lend you any dogs, but I could have Edgar retrieve a barrel from our wine cellar?"
For you, Locke! ;P
I'm not entirely sure what happens to summoned creatures. I'm curious though... Guess I'll look it up some time.

![]() |

Zat is most generous my lady! Zank you.
Tereze signs her document after making sure there are no more unexpected notes in there.

![]() |

Ery raises a brow, looking to those among his companions pleased to have a barrel. Giving a light smile and shrug, Ery takes to his feet, scooting the chair out form under him.
"Ladies, Locke...Urbar. I'll be turning in. I'm sure we'll see each other in the morning."
Turning to baroness, Ery gives a low bow at his withdrawal from Mansion.
"Baroness, It was a pleasure."
--------------
Once out, he decides to head toward the wizards tower and observe. Hoping to gather as much info before the group joins him in the morning.
Seeing as he doesn't sleep...

![]() |

Gwen gives a look of shock at the amount of money the baroness is offering for completion of the job. "Thank you, m'lady, that is very generous of you!" Once Tereze signs the document, she joins in kind and adds her signature to the contract.
"I want to thank you for hosting such a wonderful dinner, m'lady. I had a wonderful time and the food was most delicious!" she says eagerly with a large smile.

![]() |

Yes, Zank you for a lovely dinner. We will make sure zat you are very pleased with the results of zese contracts.
I think Tereze is all ready to go

![]() |

Urbar nods and removes himself from the room. He follows Ery for a bit before branching off, going into the forest.
"See you in the morning."

![]() |

Ery nods to Urbar, readying to tinker for the night.

A question I figured I should ask before we move on:
The exploration of the manor itself isn't a sanctioned part for PFS. It does, however, tie in directly with something that is. Do you want the full exploration of the manor, or shall I compact it (keep only the plot relevant parts and maybe another thing or two) so we can move onto the sanctioned part faster?
I've placed the manor map in the map link below my name so you can all see roughly how much exploring has to be done at the manor.
(We could technically skip the entire manor, 'cause it's not sanctioned, but I figured that'd make the Dragon's Demand part of our adventure less fun. So keep in mind, while we play inside the manor, you're technically just roleplaying and not playing sanctioned PFS until we head into the sanctioned part that comes directly after the manor. Though resources will still be expended when used, because it'd get a bit cheaty otherwise.)

![]() |

Seeing as it's no PFS, lets montage the manor then get to the sanctioned stuff
