Nice roll.

Fort: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18

Eryzule misses with anotehr arrow, but Locke's bomb hits the feral woman right in her face.

Rolling for Gwen, who wrote she moves back down as far as possible:
Climb: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
Acrobatics: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

While Gwendallyn withdraws from the harpy as fast as she can, Urbar drops his swords and takes his sling, which he loads.

Tereze once more launches a stone from her sling, but misses. Unlike Fiona, who hits the feral woman straight in her chest with a bolt.

The feral woman charges down at Gwendallyn and hits the brawler on the back of her head with a swing from her morningstar. Gwendallyn blacks out and slumps against the statue, lying oddly on the narrow ledge.

You hear a shriek and a second feral woman emerges from the statue's mouth. When you see the second woman you realize the one you've been fighting thus far is younger, not yet fully matured. However, the older woman has some ugly wounds on her torso.

"Stay off my daughter!" the new enemy yells, swinging her own morningstar in the air as she descends.

Round 5:

"Gwen, I gotchya. You're gonna be fi-" Hit by the first Morning Star across the shoulder, Ery stumbles back. He held up his arms in a defensive posture and braced himself in hopes to absorb the second blow.
His right arm broke as the morning star slammed into him once more. His consciousness began to fade, letting his arm hang lifelessly while he dropped to his knees. His eyes fluttered and rolled as he barely hung onto his consciousness...
"You've done well, heh." he whispers lightly to Gwen with a slight chuckle.
As the harpy cut his throat with her talons, the elf fell foreword, blood rushing over his dark cloths and pooling around him. The light in his eyes faded but not before giving Gwen a small smile.
With his facing and the slick of blood, Ery's body fell from the ledge and headed to the ground...
Well, that was sad.

This was unexpected...

Fiona watches in horror as the woman slams and tears into Eryzule's body which seems to fall lifelessly in slow motion, blood splattering everywhere next to and on Gwen, which seems dead as well. Fiona panics as terror grasps her. In a split second she begins to hyperventilate, terrifed just as her vision fades to black. She loses her consciousness and faints.

Arcane words appear on her hands and face, glowing in blue. Effortlessly, she speaks a word and points to the older woman.

Meanwhile... On the Infinite Stairwell...

An endless, fog covered stair well that wrapped around a seemingly infinite center column. The stone of the column was black against the near colorless world of Pharasma's home.

Ery was in line, a cup of tea in hand, not empty but perpetually at the 'last sip' if you will. This didn't bother him, but those near him, often commented.

"For the love of g- Stop that!" A familiar face shouted from a few people ahead. "Wait...you're the elf that was with us."

Ery raised a brow, removing his hood and scratching his hair. "And you're the poor bastard who got taken violently by a harpy. The elf said shaking his head. There was a snicker on the stairs, a couple warriors clad in armor and serf and peasantry like any other.

"Yeah, well so much for being heroes, eh?" The former caravan companion scoffed, snickering with a smirk. "Couldn't save m-"

Ery held up a hand, sipping his tea continuously...extra so, as he didn't have to breath to cycle the sound. This caused a growing irritation but none were as aggravated as the caravan hand.
"Why you arrogant knife eared bastard!" He began making his way down a few steps toward Ery. Those in line very happily shifted forward for him.
"How dare you get me killed and say nothing of it."

Ery spoke behind his cup, looking down toward the graveyard bellow.

"Well, I saved a woman who's muscles could rend us both asunder...and I'm willing to bet that self-sacrifice gets me points. What did you do? Just cry and die. Ery chuckled, still only half paying attention to the man before him.

The caravan hand became angry. Grabbing Ery by shoulders. "I'll toss you into oblivion, elf..." He sneered.

Ery simply, and slowly, brought the tea back to his lips and began slurping, looking the man in the eyes.

Urbar wipes his sword clean on the harpy and picks up all his gear.
"No use in healing him now. Looking at his injuries he is dead."
He says with a dead cold voice, his face looking like carved from stone. He starts picking up the loot from the corpses and kicks the lifeless bodies of the harpies in the ravine.
"Gwen, will you retrieve his body? If we find a temple we may still be able to bring him back. Never seen it done before but..."
Looking at Ery's lifeless corpse he falls and remains quiet. Before they leave the dreadful place he makes his way up where the harpies came from.

Locke makes an extract and drinks it.

Clw: 1d8 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
Locke shakes head when approaching Ery's body.
"Ill fortune, my elven comrade. We'll see what we can do to bring your eccentric self back."

With that, Locke closes Ery's eyes, before standing up again.

For Urbar and whoever else goes up to the cave in the statue's mouth:
Hidden among the detritus of the cave are a scattering of 245 sp and a small teakwood chest worth 20 gp. Within are 40 gp, a map of the nearby Silken Way where it passes through the Zho Mountains (with Gaspar’s
personal seal on it), and a bejeweled masterwork kukri worth 400 gp recognizable as part of Gaspar and Mahmoud’s weapons shipment.

The slave boy Atmar lies dead in a corner of the cave, his throat ripped open the same way as Eryzule's.

Hokama and his drovers careful move close and the merchant sends his drovers after Urbar. "Go see if Atmar's still with us..."

The merchant then notices he's standing awfully close to Fiona, who hasn't stopped levitating and turns to him. "What is..."

Hokama backs away as he sees Fiona point at him and cast a spell. "Stop her! She's gone mad!"

Will: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8

His eyes roll back in their sockets the same way the older woman's eyes did when Fiona took her out, and Hokama hits the ground.

Gwen looks from Ery's lifeless body to glare at Urbar for his callous remarks about their comrade's remains. "You son of a b$%%*!" She shouts and gingerly sets Ery's head back on the sand; however, her attention suddenly turns toward Fiona. "Fiona?" She approaches her friend and suddenly finds herself in the young woman's haze... Fighting back the sudden urge to lay down and sleep. "Fiona, it's me! It's Gwen!" Unfortunately she cannot seem to get through to her friend and so she rushes up from behind and wraps her in a bear hug. "Fiona! Wake up!"

Seeing Gwen's attempt at calming down Fiona, Locke dices to try and help.

Fighting off a sudden vibe of upcoming tiredness, Locke refocuses on speech.

"Miss Fiona...or whoever is in there? The feral one's toasty, you can calm down now.
Well...as far as could be, given the situation."

Switching to a semi-surprised way of inquiring.
"Does she have this on occasion, or would this be a case of mental meltdown upon traumatic events?"

Realizing now that the man he was conversing with was not a man at all, but instead a boy... Ery shook his head, removing the cup from his lips only to look into it with a raised brow. Shaking his head after a moment of awe, the elf chuckled.
"Atmar...or something like that... You're a boy."
It was now apparent that Ery had been hallucinating the event entirely. Standing before him, a young man. Not an angry adult. Who had he been talking to? Had he been talking at all?
"Wha? Yes, that's me." the boy responded, rubbing the back of his neck while he looked upward along the stairs. "I'm sorry you died. I hope the others made it.
Ery gave a nod. "I'm sure they're fine. Did...Did I speak to you or was I just standing here idly?"

"Oh. Umm, Well I approached you as I recognized you well enough. You've been pretty idle save for a few mumbles for over several minutes. I just assumed it was the shock of death." The young boy gave a shrug and chuckled lightly. "Still hard to believe I'm dead, myself.
Ery shook his head and let out a sigh. "Yeah...

Since I was climbing I thought it a very bad idea! Though it did sound fun.

Urbar, having arrived first at the top, stops the others from advancing upon seeing the body.
"No use, he is no longer with us. I will grab whatever is up here and come back down again."

Not worth it at all...

He starts piling rocks on top of the body, to create some sort of grave. He leaves some food, some water and a small amount of gold from the chest.
"For the way beyond..."
He collects the items and heads down, showing what he has found to the others by setting it out on the cave floor. He moves over to Fiona and puts a hand on her shoulder, giving her a meaningful glance and a nod. His face still looks carved from stone, but his eyes show regret and pain.

While Ery is in line, he might watch to his left, where a number of small animals is in a line too.

Animals have souls too, why wouldn't they??

A firm looking attack dog with burn marks looks back at him.
In his flank is a circular center, with the rest of his flank scorched.

Just behind Ery, stands what looks the hippie type.
"....'sup man? You looking at the pooch, aren't you?
I spoke to it earlier, way out. You wouldn't believe what it told me."

Ery notices the guy carrying a bunch of leaves, from which he eats some.
"Hits the spot....now where was i?....oh yeah, the dog.
It said it was minding its own business, right, when there was a ruckuss. Its master's guards tried cornering some person....too disguised, could have been a man or woman, you know.
Anyway, some sizzling orb flew at the guard blocking the exit to the balcony. The guy stepped aside, and it hit the poor pooch. But seems that the figure screamed a futile 'watch out' at the pooch, before it died."

He eats a few more leaves.
"I dunno what i died of, truth be told, you know?"

Gwen releases Fiona once she goes limp in her arms, lying her gently on the ground. "What in the Nine Hells happened here?" She looks to Locke and Tereze, hoping they would know more about what just befell Fiona...

Once Fiona wakes up, Gwen watches her warily for a moment obviously ready to wrestle the young woman to the ground again if necessary. "You don't have to be sorry unless you did it intentionally." Once she is sure that Fiona is back to her normal self, Gwen walks back over to kneel next to Ery, closing his eyes with her fingers, and then bury her face in his chest, his robes muffling her ragged whispers. "You dumb fool, Ery. I'm so sorry I couldn't protect you..." She slips her muscular arms beneath his body and lifts the elf easily as she carries him over to her camel, gingerly placing him across the beasts back, and then begins the somber process of strapping the body down.

Afterward she sits down in the sand, pulls her knees to her chest, and buries her face as she silently weeps... showing a vulnerability like she never has before. After a few moments she stands, wipes the tear streaks from her emotionless face. She walks over towards the creature's corpses, drawing her handaxe as she does, and with two brutal swings she hacks the heads from the creatures. She then picks them up by their stringy hair and set the heads on the nearby ledge to be visible to anyone approaching this place. She then cleans the blade from her axe with the sand and slips it back into her belt. "Let's leave this accursed place and continue our mission."

Locke shakes head slightly.

"I don't know.
I can only speculate, a split personality, a vengeful protective spirit?
Or the point where reason breaks from emotional trauma."

....
"Given you haven't replied that she has had this earlier, my guess would be the last? I've seen a mother beat a thug with a pan into submission, after he stabbed her husband to death."

Fiona remains silent for a while and just when she opens her mouth to answer Gwen leaves her and goes to her business, leaving her alone. She remains on the ground for a couple of minutes, holding her head and apparently ignores everything else that is going on around her. Once she hears Gwen loading Ery's corpse on the camel her eyes begin to tear but she says nothing.

As the others prepare to depart, Fiona finally gets up and at a moment where nobody is near Eryzule's corpse she walks to it and touches his lifeless hand, but immediately shrinking away instinctively from it as it had already its former heat. She does her best to try and wipe away the blood from Eryzule's face, then walks away, ready to leave.

Hokama's drovers wake him up and the merchant immediately takes his distance from Fiona. "You fiend! Stay away from me!"

As you continue your journey Hokama and his drovers take some distance from you as they follow you on the Kamawgyar Shrine trail. You soon reach the main route of the Silken Way as it leaves the western flank of the Zho Mountains.

The smell of water in the air as you leave the mountain pass indicates that the Shat-al-Qadr River runs somewhere nearby. You have found your heading again. As you round a final talus slope, you discover something altogether unexpected. The very caravan you have sought waits before you, the merchants and drovers kneeling with their arms bound behind their backs and the camels clustered nearby. Among these captives walk a dozen or so armed warriors wrapped in the dark robes and helms of the desert bandits you fought before. Standing with his back to you, not ten feet away, is the armored form of the Taldan knight, Gaspar du Mer. He holds his wide-bladed sword in one hand and clutches the tied arms of the caravan mistress Jamila al-Shafah with the other as he shouts orders to the brigands.
