With Lem having a gem to go after already and arrows flying wild towards the assassins, Godfrey doesn't seem to agree with Ragnar's assessment. The archer is doing admirably at clearing the fray and if they wait too long all the gems may be gone. "Haha! Worry not, friend! Your shots are true, and we may as well gather them while we don't have to face folks like ourselves for them!"

With that he'll flick his sword blade down and catches the ruby Riddywipple has pointed to with the tip. A flick of his wrist sends it flying into the opening of his satchel where the fairy dragon is waiting.

He'll move to strike the Mantis in front of him, only to see the man collapsing to the ground as a pin cushion! "Case in point my friend!"

Sir Godfrey is busy nudging his foot into the side of the last pin-cushioned foe while his fellows scoop up several more rubies, and then proceed to beat the will of Sarenrae into the heads of the new arrivals.

Since they seem to have been roughed up mightily he chooses not to add his own blade into the fray, instead walking up behind Amina and slapping her heartily on the back. "Impressive ferocity, friend! I can imagine that the Dawnflower must be extremely impressed with the way you fell evil!" The touch on her back would have the familiar feeling of their goddess's blessing.

Um, we actually haven't heard from our esteemed GM, so we don't know for certain the baddies are down--or if there were just the two hapless victims. That being said, if it was just the two of them and it's the next round:

Lem ceases his encouraging words, pockets the third gem he snagged, rendering it invisible as well, and then will attempt to silently slip out the open door that is a mere ten feet away.

I'm assuming it probably doesn't help against the samurai, but Lem is invisible right now.

Lem makes a full-round withdraw action, putting as much distance between himself and the samurai as halflingly possible (which is only 20' in the current chaotic conditions in the tavern).

Godfrey's plan goes out the window with the appearance of the Samurai, and the Paladin puts consideration towards the idea of putting said samurai through the window as well. "Bad show, so much for Tien honor! Face someone your own size, you garbed, evil coward!"

The paladin steps up into the path of any attempt to persue Lem, all pride and posture. Godfrey seems to be hesitating on his swing, but when the shadow rises up from the floor behind his target he swings.

Without warning, loud slamming noises echo through the tavern, even over the fray of the combat within. Moments later, the front doors rupture in a shower of splinters. In full battle regalia, a contingent of Absalom’s First Guard rush into the room. Swinging heavy chains and nets, they beat into the brawlers en mass, dragging dozens to the floor. The remainder of the contestants break from their opponents, and the crowd devolves into a raging mob as all race frantically for the nearest exit to avoid arrest.

Rules
People trapped within the mob can only take standard actions. Movement requires a successful Strength, Acrobatics, or Escape Artist check to force one’s way through the mob. Alternatively, individuals may attempt a Combat Maneuver check to swing at the crowd to try to disperse some of it. Dispersing the crowd clears a 5-foot square, which can prevent an ally from being trampled or blocked. However, if attacked, the mob fights back. Following any failed attempts to forcefully clear space, the attacking individual takes nonlethal damage each round (as if the mob were a swarm occupying the same space), until he is knocked unconscious or able to exit the room. A successful attempt to disperse the mob clears the 5-foot square for 1 round.

Thanks to the guard arrivals, your are trapped inside a mob. You need to escape through it!

Alvin quickly assesses who is most likely to be able to push their way through the crowd. He flies down inbetween Godfrey and Kyra, and he motions to Ragnar, Kyra, and reaches in the backpack to Riddywipple.

"Let's vamoose."

He casts Dimension Door upon the three and takes them about 200 ft. away from the building. So, Ragnar, Kyra, Riddywipple, and Alvin are the ones he wants to get out.

Sorry Lem, but you're too far away and Alvin can't see you. ;)

Alvin assumes the others are strong enough to make their way out of the crowd.

Based on the reading of Shadow Jump working the same as Dimension door, I believe I can take 1 additional medium sized or smaller person with me when I use it. So I'm going to take Amina with me as she's next to me unless you rule otherwise.

When the guards show up Sir Godfrey frowns mightily, he is one all for obeying the the tenants of the law and this brawl is definitely causing problems. At the same time this sort of roughing up of a crowd isn't meant to bring people in so much as end things.

The paladin stands there tall for a moment, debating making nice with the guards and offering to help end the situation until Alvin drops down nearby and drags most of the party from the room with magic. "Aha! An excellent idea, my little friend. Amina, fellow worshiper of Sarenrae! We shall use the shade cast by her glorious light to our advantage and escape as well."

Godfrey will reach out a hand to rest on Amina's shoulder and then use the dim light of the tavern to simply leap through, propelling them away from the fight to where they can safely observe the guards actions instead.

Shadowing Jumping north, which will put me and hopefully Amina 30ft north of the tavern. I ditched the invisible Lem, too. =*(

Being incorporeal the crowd doesn't seem to bother it. Godfrey's Shadow will drift back into the floor and make its way back to the paladin post-haste.
