Just let us know when you are ready to begin. I am taking a professional exam in a few weeks and am spending extra time studying. So unless you plan to begin in a few weeks, I am afraid I will be too busy to post much... though if you don't mind very infrequent posting at first I'd be happy to join.

Hey Auryn. The thread will probably go inactive soon on its own. I think it only stays active if we post to the Gameplay thread specifically.
Arklore, send us a PM if you do decide to start up a game. Otherwise... it's been fun all, hope to game with you again.

I'm fine with that. Not sure how, though. I guess we could ask a mod.
I thought it automatically hides after 30 or 60 days, but now that I checked to see GM Brew hasn't posted since April 10th, maybe we do need to tell someone.

Hey gang! First off, very sorry for falling off the face of the earth. RL kind of kicked me in the nethers and its been tough to get back into the gaming swing. I still want to finish this arc, so I am going to keep the thread up. My goal is to fire up the last leg of the arc after GEN CON, so I do not tie up anyones characters if they are going. Again, my apologies.

Anyone else planning to join us? If we don't have a healer, not great, though we shouldn't be too bad. I have a nearly full wand of clw, and in case I go down Tsukai having a few potions would be a very sensible precaution, too.
Edit: Just noticed Regnel has "Mister Wiffles" written in his stat block, lol. When in doubt, just call out "Wiffle!" Hope you can join us again. And Arklore too!

Nothing to add atm, waiting to see if anyone else has questions.
Since Janira is not nearby, Breg only knows common local knowledge of DC 10 or less.
Do we need to recruit another with only 3 PCs? I'll trust your judgment Brew. But as awesome as we are, 3 still seems a bit light.

Hmmm. This scenario has made me ponder possibly variant multiclassing Breg as a rogue to get trapfinding. And put some ranks into Disable Device...
Btw, I'm going away for a couple of days. Not sure about the Internet situation, so bot me as needed if I am absent.

Breg can try to bash the door, but it will likely make a ton of noise and garner attention. Does he want to do that?
Hmmm, not if it has a good chance of attracting attention. Thanks for checking...
Like Tsukai said, could we have noticed any other conceivable way in, like a window perhaps? If not... we're going to have to get out of the ship and come up with another plan, I think. We need a rogue for this, dangit. :)

No. But there is a key mechanism. Perhaps a key could be located?
And to think a character of mine in a different game was not long ago making fun of another character for failing to think of finding and using a key on a locked chest. Late night posting, I blame you. Lol.
I think searching may be worthwhile, but the captain probably has the key on him... :/
Apologies for the delayed reply btw. I got unexpectedly busy in real life for a bit.

...unless Arklore happens to have prepared Mage Hand? Perform a ranged Sleight of Hand for the key, drop it nearer to Breg and Tsukai, and a Bluff check to mask his actions?
:o

I don't have that one prepared, its a cantrip but I am maxed out on the ones I presently have memorized. it might work...we would have to rest a few hours for me to reset that cantrip.

Paizo campaigns often have several options for completing an objective. I don't think they would have created a task that would require disable device or magic as the only options to get past an obstacle. Not every party will have either of those two classes represented. I think we can achieve our goal with the classes and skills available.
My thought was to ignite a few smoke arrows below deck and remain hidden. The captain may come below deck to check on the items in the locked room. We could attempt to knock him out, take what we need and escape under the confusion of the smoke.
This is just a thought of how we could gain access to the items we need without anyone knowing what we are doing.
If that idea doesn't work then The Air Eidolon could just rip off the captain's pants and float them down the steps.

Options here are to try and get key from first mate, break down door, or abandon task. What do you wish to do?
We can't do our "pretend fire below deck" plan to trick the key master into thinking there's a fire, rushing to open the cabin and make sure all is well, and slip in unnoticed?
If not, in the interest of speeding things along, I guess revert back to Bregolas's original idea: break down the door.

I agree. It seems we have a choice between extremely difficult or the Impossible. I don't see any way to get the key. If we leave then we have wasted time. I agree with smashing the door in. We were steered away from that option earlier because I thought more reasonable ways of entry would present themselves. It looks as if smoking out the ship is a worse approach to achieving our goal.
If both Tsukai and Bregolas can strike the door together, would that aid in the success of breaking down the door?
Since we can't communicate with the rest of the group we will have to rely on their improvisational skills to control the situation at their end.
