GM - Mark Garringer |

I am opening Discussion and Gameplay threads ahead of the start date of Nov. 1st. Please ask any questions, update character sheets and general what-have-you.
Also as a friendly reminder, if you see something behind a spoiler that says 'GM Rolls' please do not read it. ;)
This is the discussion thread for the subtier 1-2 table 3.
Subtier 1-2 APL = 2 (1+1+1+1+1+4/6=1.5)
1. Hrothgar Mountain Heart - druid 1 accepted
2. Mathurin Berkouchard - swashbuckler 1
3. Kaylee Sharpston - bard 1 accepted
4. XenoCide78 - fighter 1
5. Gor Delsorami - arcanist 4 accepted
6. Ragnar Skarr - barbarian 1
Some minor stuff before we begin:
1. If you need to contact me directly for any reason PM here or zizazat@gmail.com.
2. Please post your PFS number on your profile if you haven't already done so.
3. Please add a line to your profile under the Classes/Levels section like this: Race Class Level HP: Cur/Max | AC: | T: | FF: | CMD: | Fort: | Ref: | Will: | Init: | Perc: | Sense Motive:
Example: Nagaji Monk 1 HP: 9/9 | AC: 17 | T: 16 | FF: 14 | CMD: 16 (18 vs. grapple) | Fort: +3 | Ref: +5| Will: +5 | Init: +5 | Perc: +9 | Sense Motive: +7
Feel free to add any other skills or consumable uses/charges/daily abilities you feel make it easier for you to track as well.
4. In the Gameplay thread there will be a link to the current maps or resources under my name. As I'm running several games there may be other links/maps listed there as well. The Campaign info will also have links to the maps. I will be using google docs as it seems to give me the best overall flexibility for quickly managing stuff. Your links will show up as Table 3.
5. As previously noted, I also happen to be the author of this particular scenario. It is my pleasure to run it for you and I hope you enjoy it. Any feedback you have for me about how I ran the game or the scenario itself is very welcome be it praise or constructive feedback. I try to go for a cinematic style, I am not out for blood or trying to screw players over. Expect intelligent beings to respond in intelligent ways.
6. I hope you enjoy yourselves!
Characters not yet marked as accepted are because I have yet to have time to review. If I have questions or problems I will PM directly about them. Thanks!

Quick question for the group: Would anyone here be offended by a bit of risque' roleplaying? Kaylee takes her devotion to Arshea seriously, and while I won't be posting anything crude, I also can tone it down even more if anyone is easily upset. This is akin to me looking around the table and making sure there are no children under 16 playing.

![]() |

Kaylee: I have no problem with that. I have a similar request though: Ragnar isn't the easiest person to deal with - he's a Taldan after all (read his bio for more). He might behave arrogantly or just be a pain in the !@#, so please let me know if I'm passing the line and making anyone uncomfortable.

GM - Mark Garringer |

So long as it's not making anyone uncomfortable I am fine with both. Kaylee and I already talked a while back. It's a little harder to gage table reaction over text, and if there are young adults present I'll request everyone to keep it more like PG-13. Try to keep things in the context of Golarion lore and it should be reasonable enough.
I have a Chelixan cleric of Asmodeus who is a straight up racist.
The scenario itself already deals with the potentially touchy topic of slavery. Toss on some overt sexuality and racism and we are in for a grand ol' time! :D
Seriously though, anyone who has concerns or problems with anything along the way please PM me directly to discuss before something gets out of hand etc. Ultimately we are all here to have fun, and that is not at the expense of the others we are playing with.

![]() |

I would have no problem with it either. I would like to think that we're mature enough to handle it in an adult fashion all the way around, no matter the topic..

GM - Mark Garringer |

Sorry the last few days have been crazy, I'll get an update tonight.

GM - Mark Garringer |

Sorry, haven't had much time the last few days. I'll get caught up later tonight.

GM - Mark Garringer |

Hopefully with the holiday behind us we can get this game back on track! Hope everyone is well!

![]() |

Yep, just got back late last night from family visiting time, and it was a great week. I'm definitely ready to get back into it!

GM - Mark Garringer |

I am a little torn here guys and I hate to break the 4th wall...especially since as the author, and the pbp format, I can probably spin out adhoc detail as needed.
I guess the question comes down to, how much rope do I give you? Or maybe, how much rope are you guys willing to accept?

![]() |

If you feel comfortable hinting to us that, for example, it might be best to wait for the boat to dock here, I'm fine with that. I won't feel stifled creatively or anything. :)

GM - Mark Garringer |

I'm pretty much happy to watch you guys just drive right over a cliff, but I am sort of stuck with the question of 'should I.' I am completely happy filling in the gaps to keep you guys going in whatever directions you feel your characters would go. Players sometimes have issues accepting the natural consequences of their actions though. :)
I suggest reviewing the Venture-Captain's briefing.

![]() |

Yeah... re-reading the briefing didn't help much... except maybe we're supposed to just wait, since we're supposed to be relatively stealthy about this whole thing? I dunno... anyone else have some insight?

![]() |

If I understand correctly, this
Lady Darchana requested that the Pathfinders call upon her at her estate in the Petal District once they learn something of the origins of this servant.
means that we should return to speak with Lady Darchana since we learned something about Atlag's origin (I guess).

![]() |

You're right, totally missed that. I must have some of Kaylee's ditzyness IRL! :-D

GM - Mark Garringer |

I am feeling really badly about how this game is going. I have my own baggage and responsibility for slow/lack of posting over the holidays, but it seems like we just cannot get things re-engaged and back on track? I believe the PbP Game Day ends Feb 1.
If we can get a level of commitment going to finish by the 1st, I believe we can still do it. However, I also realize that it may just not be possible for some people's situations. I can issue partial chronicles if you'd like and we can call it a day.
We need some open and honest discussion either way on this. Thanks!

![]() |

I've actually really been enjoying this one... I'd rather we continue it even if it ends up going past the GameDay ending, and just have it count as a normal PFS game. I like the back-and-forth we've been having between Kaylee and Ragnar... I think we just need to bring it back to the attention of Belven and Hrothgar. I also wouldn't want to receive partial credit and then not be able to play it for credit later... if it dies, I'd rather it just not count at all.

GM - Mark Garringer |

I'm glad to hear you are enjoying it Kaylee. It's been really hard for me to feel like I'm hitting my stride running this table between the holidays and work etc.
Forward to Victory! :)

GM - Mark Garringer |

I guess I was somehow falsely equating the end of the boon chance with the need to end the game. So I guess no worries all around then and we'll press on as best we collectively can!

![]() |

I'm still here. Just finding it hard for Belven to get heavily involved. He's not great in social interactions

GM - Mark Garringer |

Good stuff folks! I love it! Sadly I wrecked my largest backup environment today during an upgrade and have been working non-stop for the last 10 hours on trying to fix it. Hopefully I'll have some peace tomorrow to move this interesting turn of developments along :)

GM - Mark Garringer |

I'm not seeing PFS numbers for Belven or Hrothgar on your profiles, can you guys post them here please?

First, I would like to apologize for my part in taking so long with this game. Between work and the holidays it really hampered my ability to run this game the way I would have liked. That no doubt fed into the players apathy, creating a vicious circle.
Second, I would like to thank you for sticking through to the end. I hope that you enjoyed the game, even if it wasn't as quick as we might have liked. I had a good time writing this and I hope that it brings a little something different into PFS that people can enjoy.
Third, I am completing the Chronicles and will have the scanned and emailed off either tonight or tomorrow. I need day job rolls if you have them, and I want to verify the event id so it is properly reported from the Online VC (since we finished after the end date). If I need to generate an event id and report it that way, I will.
Thank you for playing, maybe I'll get a chance to play with you again in the future!

Perform(oratory): 1d20 + 19 ⇒ (13) + 19 = 32
I really enjoyed the game, and I hope you run more of them in the future, Mark!!

GM - Mark Garringer |

Ragnar: S06-11 The Slave Master's Mirror is a direct follow up to this adventure!

![]() |

If you would be willing to run it, I would love to play in that one mark!

I am flattered that you guys would want to continue on, but I am not sure I can commit to that at this time. Also, specific to these characters, it is a 3-7.
I have posted the Chronicles for everyone here via private message to a DropBox link. If there is something wrong with the Chronicle or a problem accessing it let me know and we'll get it fixed!
Thanks again for playing everyone, I enjoyed running it for you!
