Isador sticks to the shadows and approaches the sarcophagus, suspecting like most things thus encountered a trap awaits. He carefully examines the sarcophagus when tendrils shoot from the bottom of the coffin and a gaping toothy maw materializes. The creature lashes out at Isador, but the nimble rogue is able to narrowly dodge an oozing tentacle. The thing growls and readies for another attack!

The Archons spring to defend Isador. The party is unable to recall any information about the strange creature from their education and training.

Izzy tries to get some distance between the angry sarcophagus. Izzy, three choices here. You can take a five foot step back then attack with bow or take the withdraw action and move up to double move away. Either of those actions will not provoke an AOO. If you step back 10 feet and fire, that will provoke AOO. Which one do you do?

Tarek readies his action. Tarek did not detect evil in the room prior to the attack and does not sense evil coming from the attacking sarcophagus.

Havelockk launches a burst of magical energy at the creature, the missiles burning into the creatures flesh.

Caoilte rushes to Isador's aid, burying his axe into the thing. As he withdraws his weapon for another strike, Caoilte feels resistance as he tries to free the weapon from the creature. Please make REF save v DC 17.

Its a new wand, so no fear of not having enough charges and my use magical device is high enough as well if that comes into play. I can always let somebody else use the wand like Tarek or Izzy if they are more proficient.

Isador, infused with Tarek's divine blessing, slowly opens the door to the next chamber. As Havelock studies the door, he is fairly certain he recognizes some magical writings on the false door. Isador slowly moves into the room, which appears to be a burial chamber. An elaborately decorated sarcophagus stands among the heaped treasures and offerings in this burial chamber. Ancient Osiriani hieroglyphs on the walls proclaim this to be the tomb of Pharaoh Sekh-pa-Mefer III, the Pharaoh of Sphinxes.

As Isador enters the room, he hears a load moaning. Suddenly, the lid of the sarcophagus explodes into the air, and humanoid shape springs from the coffin, wrapped head to tow in in bandages...

When Tarek is able to take action, he will use his wayfinder to cast protection from evil upon himself and then move towards his weapon. I am uncertain at what level the spell will be cast at. I researched but could not find if it is based on the level of the user or level of the spell. His eyes widen when the face, writhing with rotting flesh, comes into focus. Suddenly he hears the panicked screams of his companions and the clanging of steel hitting the floor.

His senses are still reeling but he instinctively knows that standing here will end in a painful death. He glances over his shoulder and witnesses his companions running out of the chamber.

Isador, wisely recognizing his disadvantage, withdraws from the undead creature and runs back to his panicked companions. The rogue looks for Havelock's black blade, but he sees, and hears the clanging, as the magus trails the weapon from a cord attached to Havelock's wrist. I read the intent here that Isador was not facing the creature alone and wanted to retreat back to the group. By taking the withdraw action, Izzy can move out of one square without threat of an AOO, so I had Izzy withdraw and move back to the party.

The mummy hisses and follows Isador with alarming speed. It catches up to the rogue and attempts to slam him once again, thankfully missing the rogue this time.

Tarek calls forth the power within his wayfinder, casting a protective enchantment to aid against the walking corpse

Protection From Evil:

School abjuration [good]; Level cleric 1, paladin 1, sorcerer/wizard 1
Casting Time 1 standard action
Components V, S, M/DF
Range touch
Target creature touched
Duration 1 min./level (D)
Saving Throw Will negates (harmless); Spell Resistance no; see text
This spell wards a creature from attacks by evil creatures, from mental control, and from summoned creatures. It creates a magical barrier around the subject at a distance of 1 foot. The barrier moves with the subject and has three major effects.

First, the subject gains a +2 deflection bonus to AC and a +2 resistance bonus on saves. Both these bonuses apply against attacks made or effects created by evil creatures.

Second, the subject immediately receives another saving throw (if one was allowed to begin with) against any spells or effects that possess or exercise mental control over the creature (including enchantment [charm] effects and enchantment [compulsion] effects, such as charm person, command, and dominate person. This saving throw is made with a +2 morale bonus, using the same DC as the original effect. If successful, such effects are suppressed for the duration of this spell. The effects resume when the duration of this spell expires. While under the effects of this spell, the target is immune to any new attempts to possess or exercise mental control over the target. This spell does not expel a controlling life force (such as a ghost or spellcaster using magic jar), but it does prevent them from controlling the target. This second effect only functions against spells and effects created by evil creatures or objects, subject to GM discretion.

Third, the spell prevents bodily contact by evil summoned creatures. This causes the natural weapon attacks of such creatures to fail and the creatures to recoil if such attacks require touching the warded creature. Summoned creatures that are not evil are immune to this effect. The protection against contact by summoned creatures ends if the warded creature makes an attack against or tries to force the barrier against the blocked creature. Spell resistance can allow a creature to overcome this protection and touch the warded creature.

Frustrated that his weapon is laying in the dusty halls, far from his grasp, Tarek unsheathes his silver coated short sword. Calling forth the power of his Good War Blessing, he imbues his weapon with the ability to holy strike his opponent.

Holy Strike:
Good Blessing
Holy Strike (minor): At 1st level, you can touch one weapon and bless it with the power of purity and goodness. For 1 minute, this weapon glows green, white, or yellow-gold and deals an additional 1d6 points of damage against evil creatures. During this time, it's treated as good for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction. This additional damage doesn't stack with the additional damage from the holy weapon special ability.

Moving as quickly as he can, he attempts to aid Isador. He shouts to the nimble rogue I am coming to aid you my friend!

I assume the use of the wayfinder is a standard action. Tarek can draw his weapon as part of his move to get behind Isador. The holy strike blessing says nothing about what kind of action it is. If it is a standard action then he will activate that ability next round. I moved Tarek but I do not know if he can move farther than the space behind Isador. If he can, he will instead try to move to a location that will allow him to attack the mummy next round

Not wanting to see Tarek alone..I fire off a salvo of magic missiles at the mummy and then move up a few feet, prepared to engage with word and spell as a follow up.

Magic Missile: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4. Azarath Mentrion Zinthos!!

The Archons press on against the foe from eons past.

Tarek attempts to swing at the mummy but misses the undead menace.

Havelock again draws upon his arcane might and lets loose a volley of magic. The missiles glance off the creature, tearing at the bandages on the thing's shoulder. 'lock, how many spells you have left?

Round 3
Caoilte no longer Panicked

Isador (-8)
-------------------
Mummy (-15)
-------------------
Tarek(-7)
Havelock
Caoilte Note Caoilte is now approx 24 squares from the entrance to the tomb, meaning he will have to move 24 squares (running for two rounds will get him there) to get to the north end of that arrow saying 750 feet.

I used arcane recall for magic missile this last round. I should have a shocking grasp, acid arrow, and frigid touch all still good to go, along with acid splash, daze and disrupt undead for cantrips
