Caoilte, oh, so its official now, cause the the arrow and blade shots earlier I felt were my imagination? Focused, I prepare my next move.

OH hey, did I mention the two slips up on the high ground, attacking from a point of advantage is a bit of a nuisance?

The agents continue their defense against the wee ones!

Isador pulls out his increasing mastery of the rapier. He runs his oppenent through the shoulder, yanking the blade out drawing a stream of blood with it. The halfling knife screams in pain but fights on.

Elorand, using superior skill and grace, deftly gets himself out of danger from the flanking duo. His strike holds his attacker for a moment, but misses his diminutive foe.

The wounded knife on Isador rallies to make another attack. He is able to stick the rogue nearly as bad, getting Isador with a good cut just above the kneecap. Only fate kept the injury from being much more severe. Izzy takes 2 whole damage on a confirmed crit! Desna smiles...

Kat continues her barrage against the pair of halfling archers. This time, her arrow lodges in the building just below one of the archers.

Tarek attempts to bash one of the knives with his chakram, but the deft halfling dodges the attempt.

The 'ling on Caoilte continues his assault despite the difficulty he is having with Caoilte's armored hide. His nimble strike once again bounces off the warrior's armor.

Havelock unleashes an acid glob at the beleaguered knife. It splashes his face and the small assailant howls in pain and falls to one knee dropping his short sword in a clear surrender. The magus' follow up attack misses as the short man gets shorter. I am tracking shield spell. Remember when using spell combat to include -2 penalty to attack.

The rest of the gang presses their attacks on the archons.

The knife on Eloriand presses the ranger, taking a 5 foot step to match Eloriand's movement. He swings his blade at the half-elf but misses badly.

The archers continue their volley at Havelock but the arrows sail high and miss the magus.

Caoilte takes another chop at his knife foe. This time the axeman connects and takes a good divot out the halflings clavicle. The little man's eyes roll back into hsi head and he slumps over oozing blood profusely. The crowd has now dissipated due to the fight and movement is not hampered.

On to round 3!

The fight against the smalls continues.

Isador continues his defense against the short man but is unable to land another touch.

Eloriand lands another strike on his foe drawing blood but the small man continues the fight.

Kat draws a bead and fires against one of the archers. Her shot strikes true! The halfling cries out in pain, arrow lodged deeply in his chest. He slumps and disappears from the sight of the party, crouching low on the rooftop.

Tarek engages the halfling fighting Eloriand with his chakram striking the knife in the head giving the small man a nice gash above his left eye which bleeds profusely. The 'ling grits his teeth and stays in the fight.

The knife on Isador continues his assault but the rogue manages to turn away the knifes thrust.

Havelock attempts to enter the inn that the halfling archers are perched on. He finds the door locked. The magus manages to get out of line of sight of the archers. He drinks a potion to cure his wounds. 'lock heals 7 damage.

The battered knife on Eloriand presses his attack but the ranger nimbly steps aside to dodge the assailant's blade at the last moment.

The remaining archer on the roof curses as his partner falls and as the magus ducks under the doorframe of the inn. The little man glares at Kat and reaches for an arrow that was somewhere in front of him. He fires the arrow at Kat. Instead of piercing Kat's flesh, the arrow bursts into energy knocking Kat back a step and landing with a resounding thud. She feels the pain. Kat take 6 non lethal damage and must make a WILL save.

Caoilte flanks the attacker on Isador but misses the little dancer with his axe.

The ranks thinning, the Archons keep calm and stab on.

Isador attempts to poke another hole in the kinfe in front of him but the strike is parried by the 'ling.

Eloriand continues to dance with his smally but the deft rogue is able to side step the ranger's attacks.

The knife attacking Isador continues his assault. The runt is able to slip a blade behind Isador's defenses but the blade catches Isador's heavy leather sleeve, causing a sharp pinprick but causing no real damage.

Kat blinks away the energy that slammed into her. She shakes her head with a sniff and begins to draw another arrow to return fires when her eyes fluttter and she falls to the ground. Eloriand cannot be certain, but the ranger believes he can hear a definite snore from the rogue. She appears fast asleep.

Tarek swings his circle thing at the nearest halfling but is unable to connect.

Havelock steps forward and chops the knife attacking Isador with a wicked downward two handed slash. The magus opens a gash on the little man's clavicle. The rogue falls to one knee, drops his blade and holds a hand up. The 'ling is hurt bad and yields to the agents' might.

The knife attacking Eloriand sees that the tide is turned. He withdraws from the ranger and runs full speed toward the edge of the dock. Once at the edge, he gives the ranger a rude gesture and jumps into the water disappearing from view.

The remaining archer similarly comes to the conclusion his band has lost this fight. He ducks and disappears from view.

Assessing the the tactical situation, I kick the halfling's weapon well out of reach.

Gents, secure that small shop, the door is locked, but our remaining assassin is in the building!! He is still a threat and may have gone to get reinforcements or help!

I glare looking down at the runt assassin, placing a hob nailed boot down in the center of his back to ensure he will not escape nor is capable of any form of suicidal retaliation, with my blade ready to give him the "final peace" if he should try. You better start talking! Who sent you? Whom to you work for? How much did they say they would pay you? Tell me now or by the Sixth Ferrata of Cheliax I'll crucify you myself over an ant hill! I glance at the blade in my hand and then down at the halfling, and my blade here, Ae-Dee Ate here can tell if you are lying!

Havelock puts the screws to the fallen knife. He squirms a bit, but reluctantly acquiesces to the magus' questioning. We just work for the Vudrani—we didn’t know he was sellin’ nobles. That Renmil fellow knew, though. He knew when he told Fredrik to grab her. We were told to take care of you after you shook down that grit biter.

The halfling stiffens but is surprisingly stoic despite the obvious pain he is in.

Tarek heals the party ranger and makes ready to deal with the slave ship. Eloriand guards his position, but none of the sailors make as if they are going to loose the ship and embark. Upon inspection, Eloriand can make out only two sailors visible on deck. He also makes out some detail of the vessel.

Capped by a bloody-mouthed dragon ram and carrying a 15-foot fighting tower around her mast, the lateen rigged Katapeshi slave galley, No Return, floats dockside, tethered by four mooring lines. She’s 130 feet long and 20 feet wide, her deck nearly level with the dock, with crew access across three gangplanks: a wide plank mid-deck, and two narrow planks fore and aft.

The sailors, obviously grizzled seafarers, watch the Archons warily from the deck.

I grow weary of this. With A sigh, I activate a charge off my wand of shield while also drawing from the pool, yes the pool of arcane energy that is stored within.

Must it come this? A pity really, because it is hard to find good sailers these days. It appears that the die is cast. I guess you all failed to see the mess we made of the halflings, its a good thing there is plenty of water to help mop up afterwards.

Intimidate: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

Eloriand concludes that the only way on board the nor return will be through its crew and takes action. He draws his bow which ignites the already tense standoff.

Initiative

  • Isador
  • Eloriand
  • Caoilte
  • Sailor2
  • Sailor1
  • Sailor7
  • Sailor6
  • Tarek
  • Kat
  • Sailor3
  • Sailor4
  • Have lock
  • Sailor5

Eloriand is able to snap a shot off and buries the arrow into the sailor's chest. The man staggers but remains upright.

Isador actually acts first and hsi action will resolve before Eloriand's. Caoilte up next then round will be resolved according to initiative order.

I take a 5 ft step and attack the guy to my front right. I'll use cleave if I hit to attack the guy to my front

hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (16) + 8 = 24
dmg: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

I'll assume that's hit and make my cleave attack

hit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
dmg: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9

confirm crit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
2nd die dmg: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
3rd die dmg: 1d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

I'm waiting to see how Brew adjudicates this, but just from the rolls I want to drop the mic. Also Brew, I should be at -2 AC having used the cleave feat. More on the discussion thread.
