Naiar, unable to make out what type of knowledge will impress the well-dressed man, nods at the man's words and studies him to try and figure out what words will sway his opinion.

Studying Kerkis, +4 on my next roll and figuring out what will impress him. Also, I'll slip into a trance after I figure it out and use the rounds to gather information relevant to him.

Trance Rounds: 1d6 ⇒ 4

Naiar nods off for 24 seconds and pops his head back up with a mouthful of words for Lord Kerkis.

@Vordrek: Yes, but you first get to gleam an important bit of information

Vordrek:

Vordrek studies the behaviour and mannerisms of Lady Vaelia Wintermark carefully. She is bitter, cold and unswayable. The death of her husband, at Qadiran hands, max made her a mortal enemy of the state on the southern border of Taldor. Qadira is her enemy, and Qadira alone. She is convinced that diverting resources to fight in the world wound will only serve to weaken Taldor at home, and she's afraid the border will be open to invasion. Lady Wintermark can not be influenced, it's simply impossible.

So basically, you get a +4 on DC impossible, but you'd be better off directing your roll somewhere else ;-)

Naiar:

Naiar studies the Scion Lord, and finds that he is somewhat upset by Lady Wintermark's bigotry towards Qadirans. Lord Kermis himself is a proud, but reserved man, who does not suffer loud boors, a hallmark of Keleshite self-proclaimed sophistication.

Vodrek, on the first part I got a natural 20 on diplomacy for a 27 on Lady Wintermark. Only thing that got me was a small smile from the old lady. She may have a DC to high to be beaten. And I could use a hand with Rothos, my dice sucked :(

Discreetly, and gently, Fredrik kicks Vodrek's shin under the table hoping the tiefling can help him out of this mess.

---Fredrik and Rothos---

Lord Rothos straightens his long black dress uniform Captain of the First Guard, Commander Militant of Absalom. Through luck and cunning, I have yet stayed clear from Pharasma's halls.

Rots seems friendly enough, though not particularly impressed with Fredriks speech.

---Wintermark and Vordrek---
The Lord Wintermark fell for his country, defending the lands from the Qadiran invaders. Thanks to him, we may all yet live without the border of the Keleshite!

Lady Wintermark's staunch beliefs seem to be rock solid, and ice cold.

---Naiar and Rothos---
I applaud your discreetness. Little do I tolerate the distasteful bigotry of lady Wintermark, her insolent attitude, living in the past. A far greater threat, indeed, challenges the Qadiran nation.

The soft susurrus of servants clearing dessert dishes and esteemed guests shuffling about to hobnob with their peers echoes from the nearby dining room as Major Colson Maldris furtively glances about before speaking in a stage whisper. “Have you noticed,” he inquires, “that several of the serving staff seem to be behaving strangely? I have watched a handful of them, and I can tell you with some authority that a few appear to be under the effects of enchantment magic. They have not expressed any hostility, but this strikes me as the precursor of something far more dangerous.

“In a moment, Damien Blakros will introduce the esteemed Genedair, an esteemed veteran of the Mendevian Crusades and a guest of honor at tonight’s festivities. I trust that his speech will be suitably engaging to give you an opportunity to slip away and check the rest of the manor. If there is anything amiss, deal with any immediate concerns and then report back to me.” He spares a moment to glance back at the dining room before adding, “Under no circumstances are you to upset the guests. I will keep Lady Morilla apprised of the situation, and together we will decide what to do in the event of trouble. The feast must go on without any disruption, and I will stay with the guest to ensure that happens.” As he says this, Damien Blakros begins introducing Genedair in the other room. With a last look, Major Maldris salutes and says, “You have perhaps half an hour,” then slips back through the door to rejoin the party.

You have some time to move around Fiddlemourn Manor. The map is displayed on the handout, along with the information from the tour you've been given.

Sorry forgot to mention, in adventure setting Tywin is on the back of Graxus and uses a charge of aunt haul. If you judge no you didn't say so, they will attack separately and you can reduce the 8 dmg that the first lance roll has.

"Well it looks like we have some excitement after all in this snoozefest." Graxus laughs and charges the nearest wraith with Tywin on his back.

charge nodachi: 1d20 + 7 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 7 + 2 = 141d10 + 12 ⇒ (7) + 12 = 19
lance Tywin: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 8 + 2 = 302d8 + 14 ⇒ (6, 1) + 14 = 21
lance Tywin confirm: 1d20 + 8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 8 + 2 = 172d8 + 14 ⇒ (3, 7) + 14 = 24

ride check to avoid hit on Graxus or give cover to Tywin: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (9) + 11 = 20

Fredrik tries to turn away the evil spirits, but to no avail. Boots rips through the wraith. Through it. The incorporeal nature make the animal swipe at nothing but black air.

I think. Feel free to prove me wrong.

Naiar then manages to send two force missiles at the wraith, which are far more effective. The magical missiles hit the creature form the other side, and seem to burn the wraith alright.

Naiar:

These are wraiths, incorporeal undead. You may ask a single question

A wail can be heard as Vordrek channel celestial energy, though the evil creature seem to be strong-willed and not easily affected.

[/b]...sunlight. Wraiths have a weakness against sunlight[/b] Naiar says.

Tywin and Graxus ride up to the wraith, and Tywin manages to strike forcefully with his magical lance. Event though the lance has limited impact on the wraith, the magical nature causes some damage.

Asher also uses a magical weapon, but fails to hit the elusive creatures.
