[PFS] [Core] #00-01 Silent Tide (Inactive)

I am looking to run a PFS Core table of Silent Tide at tier 1-2.

Due to the dynamics of Season 0 encounters I am going to accept only 4 legal characters to make this table.

Please post under (or link) a profile which has your current Core character sheet to be accepted. I will be running this using Google Docs for maps and combat.

Please be able to check and post regularly (once a day). I understand life gets in the way of games, and I get pulled into work and life just like anyone else.

Liberty's Edge

I would like to run in this campaign. I have two possible characters for your consideration.

Halcyon is an oracle, with a focus on divination and the Harrow Deck, and the Ancestors mystery. I would like her to eventually advance to qualify for the Harrower Prestige Class. Her background information is on her profile near the bottom. Although she is a divine spellcaster, her revelations make her capable of fighting effectively using a fauchard with magic armor.

Liberty's Edge

As an alternate to Halcyon, I would also like to submit Gitana. She too has a focus on the harrow deck, but as a witch with the cartomancer archetype. Her background is listed on her profile, at the bottom. Thank you for considering her.

I myself have decades of roleplaying experience as both a player and GM. I've been playing Pathfinder for almost as long as it has been available. I've been playing PBP games for the better part of a year and am active in a number of campaigns. I should be able to post most days.

Sorry Halcyon, but Core PFS means something very specific and as such neither an Oracle or Witch are valid characters. You are basically only able to use options from the Core Rule Book.

Silver Crusade

I would like to join as well. I submit Barret Orc-Born, Bard of Trunau

Phylotus you've got a start but I don't see a complete character there :)

Silver Crusade

fixed it :-)

Sovereign Court

VAnya Kaleth... swashbuckler extraordinaire at your service! :P

Welcome aboard Barret!

@Vanya - does not appear to be Core legal, sorry.

Grand Lodge

Pleasure to be here! I hope to gain fame and fortune, as well as influence in the Society to assist my home of Trunau in keeping supplied with food and other essetials.

Sovereign Court

She's a rogue with an archetype, are archetypes illegal in Core?

Silver Crusade

What does core mean?

Silver Crusade

Unfortunately, yes :-/ CRB only, as well as the web-traits and Guide to Society Play

Introducing the Core Campaign

Silver Crusade

So only core classes feats spells and items? (BCRB)

Silver Crusade

Correct, core rule book only

Grand Lodge

Perhaps this one could do, then?

@Asarnil, there are still elements on this character which come from outside the legal Core restrictions.

Fixed spells (there were 2 from other sources) and traits (Warrior of Old did the same as Reactionary but the source material was not core). I think everything is core compatible now, but please point out to any other mistakes, I've just created this character so I can change things.

@Asarnil - thanks for making the corrections. I see 'flaming hands' on your spell list, which I assume you mean burning hands? And I hate to get this...picky, but I believe your gear falls outside the Core restriction in that there are no 'kits' in Core. That is a connivence added by Ultimate Equipment. I know it is an extreme level of detail, and I do not believe there is actually anything in the kits that is not in the CRB but...

Assuming you are ok with those corrections, welcome aboard! :)

I would like to submit Wyatt McDonald for consideration :-)

@Wyatt - the stragest named elf I've run across in quite some time. Welcome aboard! :)

3. Wyatt McDonald, Fighter 1

Sheet updated! Asarnil is now fully Core compatible

Thanks Asarnil!

One character more and we'll get started!

Sorry for the invalid characters. This is the first I've heard of a different set of rules from the character creation rules of the PFS. So when I saw PFS, I assumed it was just the normal PFS rules. Since this subset of the PFS character creation rules was just introduced two months ago, it would be a good idea to explain the difference in the first post of recruitment and save the confusion. I'll work on something new if there is time before submission closes.

Grand Lodge

Yeah, well, I had your same problem but all in all it's pretty simple: a legal core PC is a PC who just uses the CRB plus the Character Traits Web Enhancement and Guide to Pathfinder Society Organized Play.

It was my poor assumption that Core was more widely understood already, so yes it would have been a good idea to include that in the initial post. My bad.

If you want to create and submit a character that'll make 4 and we can get underway!

The Exchange

If I were attending table games at PFS events, I'd have probably heard about the core PFS option, but I mostly PBP now.

Anyway, I decided to recreate one of my very first memorable D&D characters, from way back when D&D was brand new. Back in the day, one fighter was pretty much like another, but I managed to give him some interesting traits that emerged from college gaming sessions, so I've incorporated those into the current version. Background is in a spoiler on the profile. I think he's ready to go. Let me know if anything doesn't look right per the new rules.

Edit: I just noticed there is already a fighter in the group. I could make a cleric given about 24 hours, if you'd prefer.

You should probably go back an read the link Phylotus provided up thread. You are still playing PFS, just with a much narrowed scope. As such, Rich Parents is not a legal trait and looks like it's managed to buy your way into all manner of problems. Other than over spending I'm not seeing any problems though.

EDIT: As to the cleric vs. fighter...I have no particular dog in that fight. PFS tables are rarely perfectly balanced. I use the mantra: play what you like.

Grand Lodge

Here is my druid (weather domain) spellcasting focused.

Is there still a slot open for a tiefling necromancer?

Silver Crusade

Unfortunately, Tieflings are not legal in the PFS Core Campaign

@Zenithar: Indomitable will? You mean Indomitable faith? I am not sure how you are getting to Will +8 (+2 class, +4 Wis, +1 trait = 7). I am not sure how you got 6 skill points and 10 hp, as it looks like you used your favored class bonus in both places. Hydraulic Push is not a legal choice in the Core Campaign.

@Alynthar42: As Phylotus mentioned, tieflings are not legal in the Core Campaign.

Yeah. I missed the bit about being core rulebook only. Maybe I'll run up a human in the morning.

Hello Mark!

My Kyra pregen still has her vestments soaked with Abaslom's port waters, but she is other way ready for adventure :)

@Kyra: Welcome aboard!

It looks like I now have a table of 4. Thank you to everyone for your interest, and sorry for the confusion on running this in Core mode.

1. Barret Orc-Born, Bard 1
2. Asarnil Veluvien, Wizard 1
3. Wyatt McDonald, Fighter 1
4. Kyra Soulkeeper, Cleric 1

I will open the discussion and gameplay threads later today and link them here as well.
