Alexis "The Odd" Trismegistis |
"Please. Be rational. Consider that you are, and have for ages, been residents of the Prime Material Plane, the ultimate unity of all elements. Look around you. Does it not at least compel you to admit that there is as much merit in conflux as in purity?"

Both elementals look at each other, at yourselves and almost sigh in unison. "You make a fair point" says Iyasset wearily to Alexis. "I will take those of you who wish to meet with Aridiea of the Ainsi along with me, and perhaps we can begin to talk of ... a remedy to our long-standing disagreement."
The earth elemental nods. "Son of the earth... Ollo of dwarvenkind. Our conflict is as long as the story of some of your people. It is too much for us to speak of here and would not achieve anything. But if you so wish to hear of what grieves us, you may join me and talk with Ini-Kehrit. I, Elsharon of the Triumvirate pledge that you will be heard fairly. Any of your friends may come along as well."
Alright, final combat averted. To wrap this up, who is going with the earth elemental and who is going with the air elemental?
Iddo, concerning the piece you took, it would seem to you that placing that piece in a container you would normally keep water in would make sense and preserve it's magic.
GM Upaynao |
Good idea, but the GM is going to tell you that there is no need. In essence, that skill contest you just finished is my placeholder for a fight where you were to choose one envoy over the other. So now, because there still are ramifications to meeting with one over the other, things that are sadly out of my control, you must decide individually who you are meeting with. I'll remind everyone that there is a theme to season 8 about elemental and elemental power. If you have a sheet for 7-99 you know exactly what I mean. If not, you really need to pick one or the other.
I'll give everyone until Friday AM to make a choice one way or the other. If you don't I'll assume you prefer Iyasset and the Ainsi tribe, given your initial choice. I'll also be posting a debriefing post.
Finally, to get things rolling, I usually ask my tables for feedback. I would welcome yours on how you though I did, how much you liked or disliked the scenario, etc. I prefer criticism about how I did because it'll help me always try and be better. Send your feedback as a PM, and I'll read it ASAP.
Ysmero |
"Uh..I guess I'll go see Ini-kehrit." Ysmero says, still not comprehending what is going on but figuring he's made a good choice.
Nice job Ollo, getting us to circumvent this final combat. I only regret that I seem to keep picking Ysmero for groups that go heavy on the diplomacy despite him only being good in a fight.
Ollo Hammer-song |
Ollo bows as the unthinkable has occurred. Not only has the team managed to avoid the fight, but they have hopefully opened a door for the two parties to perhaps begin to work together. He turns to the earth elemental, and nods his head. "It will be so, Sir. I will accompany you." Turning to the air elemental, he says "It has been my pleasure to meet you and to walk your road with you. I will return as soon as I may, carrying word of what was said, and will hopefully speak to your king at that time. You have my word of honor that I will treat with you in the same favor I give the others, and I will finish this quest of yours."
he bows again to both parties, then moves to stand near the group going with the earthen brother.
GM Upaynao |
The earth elemental grumbles beneath her breath "How can he not see I choose to identify as the female form? Mortals..." as she leads her half of the Pathfinders to Ini-Kherit, the leader of the Goanron Triumvirate as Iyasset leads his half to meet with his leader, Aridiea.
In either case, you are received with great respect, but with more than a raised eyebrow. Both Ini-Kherit and Aridea praise your accomplishments in the trials, with Aridea congratulating you wisdom in heading Iyassets' words and Ini-Kherit lauding you for not causing harm to Qiarah. As for the peace you have brought there is little mention, and when brought up, efforts are made to change the subject. To reward you (or perhaps shut you up about the other tribe) both leaders present you with a ring. Aridea gifts the pathfinders with a ring of feather fall while Ini-Kherit offers a ring of sustenance. But more importantly, they both tell you of Jamila. Namely, that they do not know exactly where she is. What they do know is that members of an organisation they call "The Concordance of Elements" met up with her shortly after she left the Ainsi camp, and from there they made their way to one of the many weak spots between the planes. Likely, they conclude, she is one one of the elemental planes, and likely somewhere where the Concordance has allies and a base of operations.
Your return to the Sandswept Halls is much easier than your trek into the sands, and soon you meet with Venture-Captain Balentiir for your debriefing. His reaction to the news you have managed to ally with not one, but perhaps even two elemental tribes in the Underdunes, has him grinning and rubbing his hands with glee.
"Well done, well done indeed! I know you are eager to set down your report on paper before you forget thus I will not hold you any longer. With what you have given me, I am certain I can get my contacts to help track down Jamila, especially now that I know... That we know she has allies. Also, Agent Trismegitis, Blackstone, I believe the Sapphire Sage is awaiting something from you. He is here with a tall Garundi gentleman, someone I had not met before. Someone called Sinuhotep? In any case, he'll meet with you at your convenience."
Somewhere, in another plane.
"It is, what it is. Trying is all one can do, dear Jamila. In the meantime. I think it would be best, if you were to go to our outpost. There, you will find, all of the documentation you will need, to track it down. Leave the other things behind. They'll serve as bait for those ignorant fools." says the dark-haired man, sighing melancholically as he turns to look out the window onto the many clouds surrounding the Concordance's outpost. "A shame, they do not know what they are doing; I'm sure if they did, they'd realize the foolishness, in disturbing the balance." He shakes his head. "A shame, there is no other way to keep it all, from crumbling apart."
FIN.
