Lissa sits at the front of the boat and begins focusing on manipulating the water.
Okay, how do you want to rule what I'm doing? I assume that the sailing master needs to make a Profession(sailor) check or something to properly navigate the river... Am I performing an aid another? Just giving him a flat bonus to the roll? What do I need to do?

![]() |

Map is ok now, thank you. :)
Are we waiting for Hskoro positioning its token?

![]() |

I'm pretty sure it's "his" token. Not that I need or want proof of his gender, of course, but "it" can be taken a bit derogatorily.
Definitely my intention wasn't depreciate anyone, if he considered this way, I apologize.

![]() |

All good :-) Token placed on deck.

From the island side of the boat a something flies out of the water and lands with a thunk at the feet of Uslad and Lissa. A small drake like creature emerges form the water and hovers about five feet above the deck of the ship and scans the deck before it fixes its eyes on Rizzlefunk and its forked tongue flickers out as if to say that looks like lunch
End of surprise round. The sailing master is no longer thinking about making sailing checks. The something appears apears to be a tiny snake. The drake is small sized

With Rizzlefunk so close, Kaye opts to not throw his bomb on the deck and risk hitting him. Instead he draws a shortspear.

"You know where to find me." Rizzlefunk walks to the cabins, to pass time.

"Oh, the wand? I can use that, I believe. This cures minor wounds, yes? Oh, light wounds. Even better."
Kaye glances at the acid burn on his leg. "May I use it on myself? Thank you."

"Hey, are you ok?", Argazhon asks them, afflicted.
"I would never expect that such creature could live in this area. By the way, good job, buddies", he praises his teammates.

![]() |

In my day this was not. In my time such things didn't live here... Ehh!
Uslad is intently wiping the sword from the remnants of the snake.
Hscoro, please tell me, will this creature return?

![]() |

"I do not believe ssso Ussslad. Not today. We we return we can offer a sssmall tribute into the river and avoid another encounter."

![]() |

Temel sweeps on to the deck "No I do not think that creature will pick on this vessel again at least." He looks around and seems to look most intently at Kaye and Rizzlefunk before continuing
"The Pathfinder Society continues to amaze me, and it seems to me increasingly prudent to enter into a business arrangement that would certainly be to our mutual benefit—particularly for those with an eye for spotting profit. Let me make my case simply: my trade network is growing and already blankets the Inner Sea like no other, and the dwarves cannot hope to compete with the prices I offer. Let us not forget that the Pathfinders have had many mutually profitable business dealings with me in the past.”

GM Merisial the risen |

Metella soon folows her rival on deck and makes her own offer “Yes, Temel has his bejeweled fingers in many pies and can offer cheaper wares, but consider the advantages of a business relationship with my mercantile concern: our network is many centuries old, and the quality of our goods is unrivaled. Furthermore, an arrangement with a firm with such deep roots in the Five Kings Mountains would reinforce the military alliance the Society is already negotiating.”

![]() |

Lissa was about to get back to assisting the sailing master with finishing navigating the narrows, so the group can complete their mission. As such, she's utterly flabbergasted by the sudden mercantile debate that popped up.
"Wait, wait, wait..... Where did this sudden conversation come from? We're here on a rescue mission, not to plot out business dealings. And Besides, wouldn't you be better off negotiating with someone in the society that has more weight behind their words, like a Venture-Captain? I can think of more then a couple Pathfinders that would be rather displeased if a scrub like me made a deal that directly affected them."
Lissa looks toward the others, with a look of confusion on her face. Hopefully, someone else can better negotiate whatever bidding war just erupted here.

![]() |

Uslad glumly and long looks, and then comes into the conversation.
"In my time... my time... to hell with this my time! Tired. I don't know what to say, and I don't know who of you two I don't like more. But. One blunt tip with stops in the city we have already received. And the output was a slaughter. So it refers to one successful trader. Of course if the f... khmmm... I mean my favorite captain even ask my opinion."

![]() |

And with that tirade, Lissa looks even more lost.

![]() |

"Well, well, then." Kaye steps in front of the two dwarves. "You are our VIP guests, and yet you'd make offers out here! Clearly the Pathfinder Society would be fortunate to have you both."
"Obviously I cannot make decisions on behalf of the entire society. I can't even decide based on the group." He shakes his head. "I would love to hear more details, after our mission though. I don't like to mix business with my other business."
Kaye will defer the decision until afterwards. No point starting a fight between them right now.

![]() |

Rizzlefunk returns from the cabins, a wily grin on his face. "I'm sorry, I couldn't help but hear the word 'business' being spoken. I would be delighted to help with that... Someone should fill me the details."
Upon being briefed the latest conversation, the gnome continues: "No doubt does Highhelm have quality of goods and the trump of military assistance, but business is business. And mister Passad certainly has the right prices and the right networks. Rest assured, I will speak highly of mister Passad to my superiors at the Exchange."
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (16) + 11 = 27
(Guys, we shouldn't forget this hint:)
The nature of this scenario is you make a good impression with Temel or Metella. Trying to win favour with both is going to be a very uphill struggle. I am willing to listen to a good plan C but I don't think we have found it yet
(We went with Temel's plan in Xer, and listened to his advice about posing as merchants. That's 2-0 in Passad's favor: we should keep up the good scores.)

![]() |

"Well said, Rizzlefunk. I tend to avoid such debates inbetween tasks- conflicts of interest come readily- but networks and contacts are important. I'll have to learn more about mister Passad and his wares."
He turns to Rizzlefunk. "You'll have to fill me in on the details, I don't know too much about the trade routes, there."
DIplomacy(Aid): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16
Kaye leans over and whispers to the gnome. "Apologies on deferring, but I don't want to anger or displease Metella. Hopefully she doesn't take this personally."

![]() |

Diplomacy (Aid): 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (6) + 2 = 8
"I have no head for sssuch mattersss. I will defer to my companionsss in thisss."

![]() |

"Lissa is right", agrees Arghazon, "we're here on a rescue mission, not to make any kind of merchant deal", he was clearly bothered with that discussion, and his posture was appreciated by Hellany, who supported him with a sly smile.
The summoner leaves this matter to Kaye and Rizzlefunk, who shows more interest in it.

![]() |

The merchant bit is part of the scenario. However I am more than happy to move on to the rescue mission
Near dusk, the captain of the boat points out a pleasant country inn up a hill on the north shore of the Glass River, where a small dock offers a berth for the Abacus. Passad and the envoys indicate they’ll wait out the night in their cabins while the PCs execute their mission at the Gray Revelation Inn. Before leaving the boat, Amauhak strongly
advises the party to refrain from violence on Razmiri soil if it can be helped; Metella and Passad, in rare agreement, concur. A stone path leads from the dock about 200 yards through some light tree cover to the villa.
A sign above wide wooden gates reads, “Welcome to the Gray Revelation Inn.” The gate leans open invitingly, and the smell of fresh flowers wafts on the cool breeze.
Feel free to place yourselves at the bottom of the 2nd map Stables is to the right the inn is top and left

![]() |

Uslad is a little ahead of the party, squinting and chewing on a blade of grass. His hands are tense like he is ready at any moment to snatch his sword. He looks around grimly.
- This will not end well!

![]() |

"Of course. Violence is always the last resort."
Kaye drinks his extract of comprehend languages as they approach the inn.
"Ah, that should help me greatly." He stifles a burp. "A little gassy, though. Let's head to the inn."

![]() |

"At least, it passes as a welcoming place." Lissa quietly remarks as she climbs off the boat.
"Yes, Let's see what the local hospitality looks like,"she adds, falling into her role.

![]() |

"Hellany, stay close to me", Arghazon asks to his eidolon, who obeys him.

![]() |

Rizzlefunk, if only on surface, appears to be in a natural state of mind. "Sure seems like a quality place, let's hope the prices don't reflect that!" says the gnome, his voice a bit louder than usual. "We'll rest here for the night, we've deserved a little luxury after today's successful contract, right!"
"And try to act natural, and let me do the talking."

![]() |

You enter the manin courtyard of the Inn. The profusion of flowers planted around this lovely courtyard fills the air with an enchanting fragrance. An oaken door to the north is the obvious entrance to the inn, while south are the broad doors of a stable. Wooden gates allow egress to west and east, and a roofed well lies at the east end of the
main court.
A young man emerges from the stables and waves with a big smile on his face. He points to the northern door and makes some grimaces as he tries but fails to speak
he is ordinary human size but I have left his big picture over the stables to give you some idea of what he looks like and I didn't want to give you the idea there was a fight about to start by putting him in normal token in the middle of the courtyard
