Normally I would make use of my Diplomacy +11 before resorting to magical means, but Hskoro's attack leaves me no option.

Uslad pulls out of his pocket 4 silver coins to give them to Kaye. "If all young people our times will be the same decent, life could be easier." At the same time, Uslad looking at the 'speaking thug' from a professional point of view - searching for weaknesses and places to strike.

The five crew have tossed a couple of ropes to dock workers on the pier who tie the ship to it.

The Inspector's eyes flash as the two gold coins are handed over. Holding the coins with his thumb he shows them to his two friends and jerks his head in Kaye's direction. "Tolls Paid" he shouts and pockets the coins and pulls out a blue pennant bearing a white mask motif ."Here this is the flag to say you've paid your dues to travel the Glass river this month" as he tosses the pennant to Hskoro be fore adding "I'd stay on the boat if I were you looks like there's gonna be a fight"
Keilden and Creth are rapidly converging on Kaye who has reached the end of the pier before realising two things. One he had no real business in Xer itself and two there are two thugs converging on him

(The pier is about 5 feet above you and ladders in the side of the pier go down to the water. One ladder is near the bow the other one in reach of the boat is by the stern)
So close but Kaye did say he was setting off to town without giving a backward glance and the scenario specifically call out not paying in copper and silver as a final trigger for the fight that is meant to happen here. Uslad if you wish to change your studied target to one of the ones converging on Kaye feel free. Initiative note normally I would roll the thugs together for pbp but I wanted to give Kaye the best odds of acting before one of them at least

(I think that mini map does more harm than good. I have no clue what anything is supposed to mean. If the map is significant, couldn't you print-screen the image from the pdf or something?)

(Also if Kaye had no business in Xer and he knows this, he wouldn't leave the ship. If you ask me this is a situation where player knowledge does not match character knowledge, and the character should act according to their character knowledge. chadius probably just wanted to keep the game moving at a faster pace.)

No I do not have the web savvy to post a map at this time. Let me try to redraw the scene

Most of you are still on the barge. Lissa is in the bow area Uslan is in the crows nest and everyone else except Kaye is in the middle of the ship. The ship is moored to a long pier fastened by ropes at the bow and stern the pier is 5 feet above the deck of the ship. Two ladders lead from the ship to the pier one at the bow and one at the stern.Moving from ship to pier via these ladders is a move action. Having collected the toll from Kaye at the bow ladder the inspector thug and his wolf have moved above the middle area and he is now holding a loaded crossbow and told his wolf (who is currently at his side) to guard the bow ladder.

Kaye has left the ship and has headed into town. (there is no scenatio reason to head into town but that does not stop characters from taking a short trip to do some shopping) He is now being cornered by two thugs about 30 feet from the bow ladder or 50 feet from the crows nest.

If that is insufficient map for you may I suggest we either scrap the whole idea of running this scenario or see you can find another gm to take over

Uslad rushes to the pier, on the move, snatching the sword.

"We gave you the money. We tried to negotiate! And still you beat us in the back! You bastards!!" - he roars on the run, and immediately strikes at the blue bandit.

Ok a few points. First Hellany could not have attacked the wolf and got on the pier last round . I thought she had attacked from the boat which was possible as I originally described it with the boat being right against the pier. To remedy that lets say she moved up to the wolf and got its attention last round and has had her attack at the start of the second round. Similairly Uslad couldnt get to threaten blue without standiong next to the wolf as well. Also I had it in my head that the wolf should have been nearer the ladder than the thug so I have switched them round
Finally I misread Lissa's post and resolved the attack on the wrong thug. I will call the grappling thug let go of Kaye in response to his friend hitting the floor to see the new threat

The five crew scurry below decks. The Wolf handler is berating Hellany "I told you.."

what prevents Hellany to move and attack? or even use Acrobatics to jump from the ship and attack the wolf? well, she acted according to the parameters that are on the map (I think it is made for this) but, anyway, if she needed two move actions to get close the wolf, there is still another attack, because now she has full-round on wolf.

Rizzlefunk eyes the combatants' locations, and estimates distances. He mutters something ("...solid ground... taller folk can go and...") and rushes to the ship's very bow.

"Lissa, make way. I want to stay within 30 feet of those guys."

(Double move to the northern-most point of the ship (up to 40 feet movement). Lissa, you can stay right where you are: I know kineticists have a range of 30 feet to their blasts and our team needs your damage more than my save-or-sucks right now.)

(Swift action to stare at orange thug, standard action total defense. My stare has a range of 40 feet, whereas my spells only reach 30 feet. I can stare at him (causing 1 damage with painful stare should he be hit) but I can't daze him.)
