"If that be your decision," the alchemist adds, "then we can do so. Just know that he won't fall alone, and he won't go quietly." She gives this last opportunity for you to change your minds, though it appears that you have them set.

Barring any objections in the next 8 hours or so, will continue onward with the presumption you are taking the path you have outlined.

So either she doesn't understand her own government, or she's playing us false. Either way, we're not getting the money. One by one, but without telling Thalia, she relays her knowledge to the others. "If we do this, she can't give us those funds. Of course, if we don't give her back then we don't get the funds anyway. Any ideas?"

"So what? Are you suggesting we give this young lady to these professional kidnappers to be "disappeared"? I don't think so, right?" Zhatara retorts and prepares for the inevitable confrontation soon to follow.

Zhatara is not willing to give Thalia to these people, but she's only got one vote

"Perhaps we can confront her with this knowledge of Andoran law and see how she proposes to provide the funds we seek"

The majority seems to be against handding her over to the kidnappers regardless of the potential effect on our primary goal here. I am willing to go along with that.

"Hmmm..." Truddig ponders, aloud. "We have to take the Society's goals as primary here. We were sent to do a job; it's not up to us to go completely counter to that. We have to secure the funds. If she can't guarantee that, I'm afraid that we may have to go another way."

"Somebody ask her about her misunderstanding of Andoran law. I'm not the one to do that," he says, shrugging his shoulders. -3 to all social skills "If she knows no way around that, we may have to trust the alchemist to see Thalia to a better place, away from her father and away from our needs. Demons are coming out of the Worldwound. One Andoran noble can't take priority over that."

"No, of course I'm not suggesting we leave her with the kidnappers. I just think we need a way of securing the funds we promised."

Laiashi finds an opportunity to talk to Thalia. "So about the money we need... I've heard that your father's money actually goes to the government if we go through with this. Do you know who we'd have to talk to?"

"Oh I'm sure I'll be able to convince them it should go to me rather than remaining with the state. I can be very convincing when I want to be," Thalia remarks. She smiles and bats her eyelids to demonstrate. Then her expression turns more conniving, and she winks. "I trust that the judge will see things my way."

Laiashi laughs. "I'm glad you know what to do." Not at all sure this will work, but maybe I can help her.

Ok, Laiashi votes to move ahead with the plan.

"I'm glad to hear that. Let's press on then. We've got to deal with a few cowardly kidnappers after all"

As you accept her offer, Thalia contacts Captain Merton Demrick to have her father arrested. Koriana, for her part and to avoid a lengthy jail term, provides many of the missives that Tercio Andares sent to her, which she had kept in the event that he should ever think to use her as a scapegoat. Collectively, the documents provide incomplete evidence that the Andares family has colluded with several other noteworthy families to rig local elections and keep each other in important offices. The documents also suggest that Sander Bryton might be involved in helping Tercio Andares to remain a consul in return for similar treatment.

The courts eventually convict him of betraying his oath of office and Common Rule, stripping him of property and position. Further investigations may eventually lead to the conviction of Sander Bryton, but he survives the Andares case practically unscathed. Thalia’s unswerving adherence to Common Rule and her role in rooting out corruption cause the judge to favor her request to maintain much of the family’s property with some concessions, and she donates much of the Andares fortune to the Pathfinder Society.

So much of me wishes I hadn't mentioned the skill check because that threw an unnecessary wrench in, but it does say to check that. Thanks for the patience everyone, that's a scenario!
