Seoni / lucklesshero pregen lv4 |
Seoni looks up and says So it's decided? We're off to this, Gydular’s Point? Well, that does sound like an adventure. Seoni inspects the magic items and hands out one holy water to everyone except herself, Here, Tallwun..take two ..I've different means of dealing with undead. Seoni inspects the rest of the equipment and hears Daeron say,
If needed, I'm able to use the wand of cure moderate wounds.
She winks at him as she hands the wand of cure mod to him, Hope you won't be using it too much!
As for the traveler's any tool, Seoni holds it out to Amiri and says, This thing has got your name written all over it! She gives the any-tool to Amiri. Looking further she says, I can learn to cast this spell, so I guess I'll take charge of this wand. Seoni then places the wand of protection from evil in her belt. Lastly she looks at the Soul stimulant; Again, I hope no one needs it.. Seoni picks up the vial and looks at Two-blades,But, will you be in charge of the safe-keeping of this priest?
After she's through distributing the magic items, Seoni says a polite goodbye to Captain Besnik. She gathers her equipment and meets her group at the market. When all is ready she says, Well, do you want to live forever? Lets get going shall we?
Two Blades in the Shadows |
"Fine with me." Two Blades said. "Even happier that there are people able to tend the bumps and bruises that occur in our line of work rather than just me. Let's go and see what is in store for us on the mission" he said.
Daeron Woodblood |
I have a wayfinder and I can see twice as far as a human, but I'm unable to see in total darkness.
Says Daeron who take the wand.
He answer to the gnome I've studied a lot before joining the Pathfinders, and my god is all about knowledge. I hope to develop my knowledge skills while being a Pathfinder.
GM Paladin |
As the six travel through the lifeless Hungry Mountains in Virlych toward their destination, a drizzle transforms into an ever more aggressive snowstorm, as if the weather itself were keeping them away, and strange whispers fill the air. As a small consolation, the tedious climb is shallow enough that you are not exposed to the dangers of altitude sickness. Eventually, you find a toppled obelisk on a peak marking the entrance to the
underground fortress. A staircase descends 30 feet into the mountainside.
Prisim |
Prisim lights up her wayfinder and then peers into the darkness below.
"Holy armour of Celestial light" she cries out, casting a couple of protection spells.
False life and mage armor
"After you big tough gentlemen!"
GM Paladin |
What's the marching order? The tunnel going down is ten feet by ten feet, so two can walk abreast. Going forward, I'll assume you fall into this same marching order elsewhere in the exploration, unless you indicate otherwise.
Tallwun |
"Unless anyone else objects, I'll go in the front, beside Amiri. And I won't steal the treasure I find. I promise. I'm an honest merchant, you can trust me."
Can Daeron auto-aid me on Perception? then I can take 10 every 10' and have a +21 perception
Seoni / lucklesshero pregen lv4 |
FYI forgot to mention Seoni picked up a scroll of comprehended languages while at the market before the journey began.
Seoni falls in line behind Amiri (10ft not 5) and says, Take it slow, and be careful..remember you need not win every battle on your own..we're here to aid you. Seoni then cast light on a pebble so she is holding a light source of her own. Just before she enters the dungeon she cast mage armor on herself as well.
Daeron Woodblood |
Daeron is in the back, if this place is considered underground Daeron have +2 to perception, initiative
Daeron uses his wand of longstrider to give him additional speed.
Two Blades in the Shadows |
Two Blades took up a spot in the middle of the group, making sure to stay out of the way of the massive sword Amari was lugging around.
Second rank, next to Tallwun
GM Paladin |
You can't aid another on passive perception checks, although you can on actively searching. The rest of the scenario will all be underground so just put those favored terrain modifiers in your status bar so I roll the right numbers.
The pathfinders quickly and efficiently decide who will be carrying a light source and who'll be going first, and descend into the ancient halls.
Alright, I think I have the marching order as it appears on the map, which I've linked in my status line and the campaign description.
The ten-foot-by-ten-foot tunnel leads a short ways down into the earth, before opening into a broad entry hall with a twenty-foot ceiling. A maze of sprung traps obstructs this large entrance hall. Blades, spikes, blast marks, and bones litter the ground. Carved holy symbols of Aroden, Sarenrae, and Pharasma cover the walls, but many of them have been vandalized.
Seoni / lucklesshero pregen lv4 |
As Seoni moves down the stairs she draws her wand of magic missile. When she sees all the bone, blades, and blast marks on the floor she tosses her pebble in the middle of the mess and grabs a sunrod from her pack. That will stay lit for over half an hour. It can light our way out should we need to suddenly retreat whence we came. Satisfied the others understood her meaning, Seoni cracks open the sunrod to provide additional light, while they search the tomb.
Tallwun |
Tallwun keeps his eyes where Daeron doesn't.
Aid other on Daeron's Perception whenever possible. Auto success as bonus is +9
Prisim |
"Wonderful. I love having lots of big tough folk around." giggles Prisim as she tries to peer between the legs of the people in front of her.
Seoni / lucklesshero pregen lv4 |
Seoni moves in to the Hallway with the rest of the group. Oh what is that there? Is that a statue? She says pointing at the object in an alcove at the bottom of the stairs. perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
GM Paladin |
The alcove across from the entrance to the room has the remains of a statue in it. Vandals seem to have destroyed it long ago, and you can only guess as to whether it was a statue of a god, a mortal, or some other being.
Narrow stairways lead south to the your left and right, and hallways lead west and north out of the room. Aside from the many sprung traps that you have to carefully, slowly pick your way through, nothing else of significance seems to be in this large room.
Seoni / lucklesshero pregen lv4 |
Seoni looks to the others, Well what shall it be? Left? Right? Or down one of the stairs? It makes no difference to me. Seoni sets her sunrod down for a moment and picks up the pebble she cast light on. She walks to the stairs on the left and chucks the pebble 1/2 on the stairs (about 15' if they go that far. Do the stairs go up or down?) she then retrieves her sunrod but moves back to the foot of the stairs.
If it's stairs one's as good as the next. If the hallways I vote for that North one behind us..what say some of you?
Seoni / lucklesshero pregen lv4 |
One is as good as another.
After you... Seoni points to the stairs she's in front of and motions Amiri to lead the way. If Amiri goes on the stairs Seoni will follow behind.
Tallwun |
Tallwun examines the statue.
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Then he prepares to descend the stairs behind the others.
Tallwun |
Tallwun asks Prism for her aid in cloaking him with Mage Armor (wand).
He looks down at her. "See?" he says, "I told you, you're not completely useless."
Prisim |
"No worries!" giggles Prisim.
"Celestial spectrum of protection!" she shouts, while tapping Tallwyn with the wand.
GM Paladin |
After examining it carefully, Tallwun comes to the conclusion that this was a statue of Aroden before being smashed.
Amiri and Seoni descend the short flight of stairs into a ten-foot by twenty-five foot room. A single sarcophagus dominates the east end, its lid ajar and its contents missing. A holy symbol of Shizuru, a sunburst with a katana over it, lies on the floor nearby. The walls are adorned with engravings of soldiers in plate armor holding their helms reverently to their sides, eyes downcast.
Prisim |
perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (8) + 7 = 15
appraise: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (10) + 1 = 11
"Eww.. look at those scratch marks. It totally ruins the look of that big stone coffin. I wonder if this was where she was buried?"
Seoni / lucklesshero pregen lv4 |
Seoni moves next to Prisim and looks at the holy symbol on the ground. appraise: 1d20 ⇒ 17 Hmmph! this might be useful later..some kind of holy symbol the silver alloy is unique..perhaps this holy symbol is as well....maybe used for a special ritual or such. Seoni turns to her companions, and her eyes settle on two blades. She walks over to the Shoanti and says, you have the closest connection to one of the gods of us all. It's only fitting that you should hold this, perhaps it's purpose will reveal itself before our exploration is complete? Seoni inquires as much as states.
Moved us all in to the room. Someone else decide where to go or what to do next OK? I don't want to be the only one pushing the action.
GM Paladin |
When the cleric of a good deity takes the holy symbol, symbols glow and appear on its back. Does anyone speak Tien, Minkaian, or have the capability of understanding it, e.g. through comprehend languages?
Seoni / lucklesshero pregen lv4 |
When the cleric of a good deity takes the holy symbol, symbols glow and appear on its back. Does anyone speak Tien, Minkaian, or have the capability of understanding it, e.g. through comprehend languages?
I have a comprehend languages scroll but I haven't activated it yet.(it only last 10 min) why is there some writing we missed?
Two Blades in the Shadows |
Appraise: 1d20 ⇒ 2
Two Blades looked the item over, "I am not sure what language it is written but I can say that it it the first time I have seen a Holy symbol with glowing writing. Does any one have any idea what it says?"
Unless one of us speaks Tien, I am afraid the scroll will need to used to read it
Daeron Woodblood |
The language seems like the one tied to the Sisters. I think her spirit has been corrupted by this place and this symbol give us clue about how to give it proper burial or rest. Lets try to find other clue before using ressources to understand it.
Says Daeron.
GM Paladin |
OK, let me know if at any point you decide to use the scroll. Where to next, the hallway to the north, the other stairway leading south, or the hallway to the west? You would have been able to see partway into the north hallway as you walked, and it opens into a larger room after a short distance.
Prisim |
"We're called Gnomes!" sighs Prisim. "And we come from much further away than just the north or where elves come from." she giggles at the thought.
"Hopefully tunnel doesn't go that far though. North it is"
Seoni / lucklesshero pregen lv4 |
Agreed let's go North, should we send the rogue or the warriors first? Seoni raises her eyebrow in question.
GM Paladin |
Going to use the earlier determined marching order.
The group heads to the north hallway, slipping through the narrow entrance and falling into their earlier pattern as it widens out into a long room. Racks for bows, crossbows, and other ranged weapons line the southern walls of the chamber. Receptacles for ammunition stand between the racks. A large arcane mark glows on the floor atop a raised platform.
As you enter, the glyph glows brightly, but with faint sparks and shimmers that give the impression of something not quite right. Three humanoid-shaped figures begin to form at the top of the stairs, each a barely-formed shape with vague limbs, a head, and a drawn face like a child's doodle of a smile. They are motionless, like target dummies.
Just as you realize that target dummies is almost certainly exactly what they are, a powerful gust of wind seems to originate out of nowhere.
1d8 ⇒ 6
It blows towards the southwest, causing those walking to struggle against its force.
A DC 15 Fortitude save is needed to negate the Gust of Wind effect. This is a spell effect so bonuses against spells or spell resistance will matter. If you succeed, you can move normally. If you fail, medium creatures cannot move to the north, east, or northeast (moving northwest is possible since that's perpendicular to the direction of the wind) unless you make a DC 15 strength check, while small creatures are knocked prone. (Seoni's familiar is riding on her or in tattoo form, right?)
Prisim |
fort: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
The little gnome stands firm, protected from the oncoming blast by her larger companions.
"Move, move, move." she calls out, sticking to her spot in the formation and following the others as they progress through the room.
Two Blades in the Shadows |
Two Blades continued to travel to the North and seeing that they might have some difficulty, called out to the group. "Toss me some rope and let me see if there is something to tie it on to so you can pull yourself over" he said
Look to see if there is some place to tie a rope and toss it, if someone has some rope (a Handy Haversack is next on the shopping list)
Fort save: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
Seoni / lucklesshero pregen lv4 |
(Seoni's familiar is riding on her or in tattoo form, right?)
yep! familiar is with her master.
fort: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (15) + 2 = 17
