I haven't seen ANY Boons on any of the tables I've been a part of as part of this playtest, and at the convention I was at over the weekend out of five tables I was at only 3 were handed out (two at one table in the second-to-last slot, one in the last slot). I don't know what metric they're using, but RNG has been making them extraordinarily rare of late.

Day Job Roll(Handle Animal via Farm Vanity): Handle Animal (+1 GM Star): 1d20 + 7 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 7 + 1 = 23

day job, survival (hunting lodge): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (4) + 7 = 11

Slim pickings for Tooth and Claw...

No boons at the table I GM'd for OutPost either.

We're only waiting for the Overseer wrap-up, which should come tomorrow (April 17th), I believe. In the meantime, does anyone have any changes (like folio re-rolls to day job checks, for instance) to the reporting info they posted earlier (posted below for convenience)?

Character name: Kel-Aurthraxis Maleocorr
PFS #-Char#: 43185-36
Faction: Silver Crusade
Day job roll: Craft (Alchemy): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17

Since I didn't use my reroll during the scenario itself, I might as well use mine for the day job!

Craft (Alchemy): 1d20 + 6 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 6 + 5 = 21

Scarab Sages

Buffs:

I'll use my reroll as well. I do not recall using it during this scenario.

Craft (alchemy): 1d20 + 18 + 9 + 2 + 5 + 2 + 4 ⇒ (20) + 18 + 9 + 2 + 5 + 2 + 4 = 60

I am fine without the boon sheets probably. I have a poor tendency to let them lie around. I just found the "earn more money from day jobs" boon from 2015 right after making my first post here for the scenario.

Just a reminder that Watts is 9th level. I'm not sure if that affects gold in the scenario (along with slow track), but better to mention it now.

Also, would it be possible to recruit Medda as a scholar for the Scarab Sages, or should I just be glad the dragon didn't land a few more solid hits on me?

Grand Lodge

Sure, I'm ok with Medda, being the keeper of lore about Eshimka and the rift, as a scholar/extraplanar authority.

Are you applying that 'earn more money from day jobs' boon? If so, what does a 60 get you?

There is a 10-11 tier to average with, so you'll get out-of-subtier gold.

I would definitely like to apply the boon. A 60 would give 300 gp.

Wow. 300gp day job on a slow-track chronicle is significant.

Yeah. I'm very happy I found this buried in my stack of chronicles and have a character that can use it. It will help slow the damage I do to my own wealth casting scrolls of freedom of movement, death ward, heal, etc.

And an investigator, like an alchemist, is a perfect character for it, being a high-int class that has other incentive to keep your craft skill maxed (and access to Crafter's Fortune)

Watts is a well-played investigator. In fact I think all the characters in this group are pretty well-played and we made an effective team. I have found it harder to convey Tooth and Claw's humour in a pbp though.

Watts, I believe I have just finished GM-ing for one of your tengu buddies, Korai Shardwing! We've had 3 tengu here, and I had 2 at my table of Forbidden Furnace of Forgotten Koor :)

In fact I'm looking to make a tengu right now to use a GM blob with a Shrine of the Sacred Tempest credit (and to play in the upcoming higher-level tengu scenario). Any of you have favorite things to do with a tengu?

Let us see:

I have an introspective freedom-fighter that's a Neutral follower of Irori (Liberty's Edge, Slayer/Cleric)

I have an attorney at law (Exchange, Unchained Rogue/Shadowdancer)

Andrietta here.

A warrior (who may or may not Paladin) follower of Shelyn who is a reincarnation of someone who heavily abused the Ring of Seven Colors and died horribly while doing so. She's been to Heaven and Yiangma. (Silver Crusader, Swashbuckler)

An exceptionally terse and grizzled agent who is an expert with a crossbow and directs his team to focus fire on given targets, and slaps them in the back of the head if they're being dumb. (Yeah, he's a follower of Andoletta, too). (Liberty's Edge Bolt Ace/Freebooter)

A contract-worker for the Grand Lodge, fights with twin wakizashi and 'troubleshoots'. (Grand Lodge, Unchained Rogue)

An inquisitor of the Savored Sting, who seeks Scandal in the Courts. (Soveriegn Court, Inquisitor)

Those are the more memorable ones, I don't have much in the way of blaster-casters...

I fully concur - even though pbp can allow for more in-depth roleplay, even in a combat/encounter-heavy scenario, I don't always find that...especially when I'm off kilter a bit due to OOC/RL stuff butting in. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this with all of you, GM and fellow players alike! :)

Thank you, I do like how all the characters were played well and I enjoyed be part of this team. I will make special note of Kel because a lot of what I was able to do in the adventure in combat was because of leveraging Kel's spellcasting.

And you are correct about Korai, he mentioned playing at your table and the fun he was having in that adventure and wanting to run that adventure himself.

=

As for Tengu recommendations, I don't play enough and Watts will likely be my only tengu for a long time. I offer that the feats I have taken (Orator and Esoteric Linguistics) probably could have been better served on other feats. With the number of ranks per level I have, I could have probably invested more into Diplomacy and Use Magic Device and had similar results (and be able to use wands).

One thing I have enjoyed as I have played is noting the languages Watts has encountered to have a short list of languages to choose from when I put ranks into Linguistics. It has been more relevant for Watts just because of how fast he got through many of the languages I would normally put on any character.

Andrietta has been reasonably effective in leveraging her Linguistics skill (picking up languages every time she runs into a new one, effectively).

It was kind of jarring at one point to play a character that only had *one* language. I felt kinda 'naked'.

Awesome, thanks for the Tengu stuff. I've played one, and definitely had the same experience with the languages, but I want to do something different for the next one. I'll look into some of those ideas.

Alright everyone, HERE are your chronicles. Please let me know if you find any problems, or if you need anything fixed.

Thanks everyone for playing, I had a lot of fun with this group. Thanks for all your patience and gentle reminders when I messed up. I hope to see you all around the boards, perhaps even for version C in a few months!

Is that the new format for PbP Chronicles?

It looks really... off... compared to the ones traditionally found in the back of a Scenario?

Chronicle looks normal to me.

This tengu was partly born of a desire to play a tengu - and the mechanical choices stemmed from looking at what I might do with the swordtrained trait.

My other tengu is a natural attacking kraken caller.

I may also make another for Shrine of the Sacred Tempest, since both Tooth and Malachi are too high level. My thoughts are either flowing monk (using a seven-branched sword), lunar shigenjo oracle, or phantom blade spiritualist.

Thanks for running, GM.

Okay, mystery solved, I tried reading it in Google Document reader vs. just previewing it.

It gave raw data vs. the sheet format of a .pdf.

Thank everyone for playing, bearing with, and to Dennis for running!

I'll be GMing C at PaizoCon, so unfortunately Andrietta won't be available for that, but when D rolls around...

Poor Claw must now give up his armour and saddle, after the FAQ got updated.

Ah well, a wand of mage armour will substitute for the studded leather barding, and I should be able to reliably hit the Ride DC for steering with the knees when I level up next and boost INT.

Dennis - thank you so much for running this! I'm still relatively new in GMing PbP myself, and I can't imagine how much more challenging a multi-table special is than a "normal" game. This was a ton of fun! :)
