Smith says, "After we bury this guy, I will find a hotel near the central train station, saying I want to take the first train to India in the morning, should be able to find a place to crash. I would suggest one of you to crash near the port and the others near the airport where foreigners wouldn't bat an eye. Ward who is going a bit more hoity toity may want to find a business hotel in the center."
Johnny "Razor" Macomb
Smith relax no one is suggesting a return to the scene. I merely meant understanding what happened back there might be required for us to get in touch with our man. I wish we kept one of them alive for questioning. For now let's get these bodies underground. Did anyone find anything on them or at the two houses? Not sure what we gain by all of us staying at different places. I think Ms Better man and Mr. Moneybags should at least stay at the same hotel. I think I would look for a more down scale hotel near you two.
As he is talking Razor exits the vehicle and walks towards Natalie. He holds his hand out for Natalie's shovel.
Jason "Snake" Ward
"I would prefer to keep my cover, thank you. We should have enough to get a few nights of hotel, right?" Is it possible for my high Lifestyle to apply here as well? Because otherwise I've got 9 points in a useless stat. It does seem to make sense, right?
"But Smith is right, dumping the bodies should be first priority. Hell, if we had to, we could sleep in here for the night, though I'd rather not. I think Macomb has the best idea here, Nat and I getting hotel rooms at a nicer place, and Smith and him finding a lower-class place to stay in the area. But all I found at the scene was the ID card and some ammo." Jason hands the ammo to Smith. "Just in case you need it."
DM ShadowBloodmoon
Ward's high lifestyle is tied up in the expenses for his mansion, cars, nice clothes, people to take care of all those things while he is working, etc. However, remember that kind of lifestyle also gives you interaction bonuses and could get you a place based on the promise of money. Or other favors, left up to your imagination. ..

Smith nods in agreement.
He then says "I will signal you with my mirror if I see a car coming in that direction. Nat or Ward I suggest you go in the other direction to signal Macomb to stop if someone comes from there. Whoever stays should give continue digging, so he can get some water and a break."
Smith unslings his Kalashnikov rifle and parallels the road but in the desert looking for a spot with a higher elevation and vantage point.

Natalie frowns, "I've got that rental contract too, may serve as proof that we knew of the man to al-Salahar , or if not him specifically, we can at least learn more about who he was if we visit the rental place tomorrow."
She looks a bit uneasy when proposing her wandering off down the lane in the desert at night, can't imagine why! "Alright, I guess I could play the 'car broken down' card if I need to."
She sighs, mussing up her hair some, and taking her heels off before she looks through her gear, 'Oh hey, my binoculars are still in here, no starlight vision or anything though. I don't remember asking for flares.." Natalie draws out a few of those items, as well as some chemical body warmers, and a pack of cigarettes, and some ration bars. She trails off for a moment, "I've got a flashlight too."
If that doesn't change the plan any, Nat'll go wander out into the darkness, and use her flashlight to notify if there's anyone coming.

You spend most of the night taking turns watching and digging the hole for the graves for the bodies that you were carrying with you.
You notice that dawn is starting to come when you finally finish putting them satisfactorily away. It is then that you notice a truck coming up the road. A red one, similar to the one you saw earlier.

DM ShadowBloodmoon
Smith notices that the truck only has three people in it, two in the cab and one in the back. The one in back seems to be relaxing and not actively looking around.

I figured you guys would alternate back and forth, but for the time being you can be back in your original positions.

Cynthia Betterman
Alright, do note we have the bag full of guns here, as I recall.
Natalie starts to go inside the van, then pauses. "Right...not everyone here speaks Farsi...well this will be enlightening." She manages a distressed look as she 'feigns' anxiety over the van, as if it were broken. "Johnny, can you fiddle under the hood or something. Car trouble's the best excuse I can think up right now."
DM ShadowBloodmoon
unfortunately, they do... I also noticed I keep saying Farsi, that is actually the language of Iran, not Pakistan. In Pakistan they speak Pashto. That was my mistake. If Smith wants to change his rudimentary Farsi to rudimentary Pasto, I'm cool with that.
The truck slows down and then comes to a stop. The man on the passenger side gets out, looks around and then starts walking towards your van. He appears unarmed.

same Culture area so should be the same language suite at least for me. also, *gulp* here I go.
Cynthia, looking distressed and flustered, puts a hand through her hair and speaks in English, "Hello...did Joy send you?"

The Pashtun man, looking to be in his early 30s, regards Cynthia as if he is sizing her up. "No Joy.", he says in not good English. "What you doing here? No place for woman."
You don't notice any weapons on the vehicle.
Jason "Snake" Ward
Richard comes around to Cynthia, "Hey, I see you speak English, then. The name's Richard, it's nice to meet you. Our van broke down and our friend Johnny is trying to fix it. Any chance you have a jumper cable and are willing to help us?" Richard offers the man a cigar.

1 person marked this as a favorite.
Johnny pulls his head out from under the hood. He gives a quick wave and a frustrating smile to the man talking to Cynthia and Richard. He then ducks his head back underneath the hood.
On his person he has his concealed holstered handgun and a switchblade.
Johnny when he is sure he isn't being watched loosens a radiator hose just enough to causes a trickle of a leak. It produces and a foul nutty smell. He pokes his head back out again.
I think it's the radiator hose Miss Betterman. See if your new friends have any tape we could borrow?
DM ShadowBloodmoon
The man is somewhat startled when he sees the rest of you come out. "No tape. Sorry. You must go. Not safe here."" Suddenly he takes off in a full run back to his truck, yelling at the driver in

Yes. I took those into account for this. Also, after this post, I will be posting rolls as you guys have requested.
Smith opens fire on the truck, shattering the front windshield and walking the bullets in the face of the driver. He slumps over the steering wheel, dead.

Natalie is a bit surprised by the sudden outburst of gunfire. Her initial action is to clear ground towards the unarmed man.
I believe being next to a combatant gives some form of soft cover vs ranged attacks? I can't look things up right now.
Timothy K Smith
Smith readies an action to fire two more rounds of Soviet 7.62mm ammunition at the running man says "You sidewinding sonsab!&*!es best not move or'll slot all you terrs, quite right i'll. Mijn bird is singing!!!!!" letting his Rhodesianisms come out fully.

Smith takes aim at the man trying to get into the truck. Ready Action requires a trigger, what are you waiting for him to do?
Ward takes cover and draws his pistol.

Macomb startled a little at the gunfire erupting from Smith. He quickly swings his handgun up from his concealed holster.

Smith climbs down towards the vehicle and says, "I didn't want to shoot the second guy. The running guy was suspect so I shot the driver to prevent them from escaping and fair enough. Nat, are you ok?"
You can tell he has some honest concern for Natalie.
When he looks at the man who narrowly avoided becoming another notch on Smith's rifle stock.
"I suggest we tie this guy up, search these dead guys for info, find a cliff and push the two of them with this truck off of it. What do you think?"
Johnny "Razor" Macomb
Smith I suggest we find out if this 3rd can speak English before we have to shoot him for knowing too much.
As he says this Razor is watching the 3rd man for any reaction to see if what he just said registers on his face at all.

Johnny's got some bad eyes on him, it seems.
Natalie looks incredulously at the two men and loses her control, gesturing to the brains on her clothes "Which one of you sons of b#!*&es just about shot me?!? The next time one of you twits even considers something so hairbrained and unnecessary, I'll shove that entire weapon up your ass, WITH a box of ammo!"
With that, she fumes for a moment, trying to recompose herself, a distance away.
Player doesn't mind nearly as much as character, btw

"You two, handle this and start digging more graves. I'm going to make sure Nat is alright." Jason runs after Nat, "Sorry about the mess. You're not experienced in situations like this, I can see that. I've had missions go like this before too, but you and I, we're trained for combat. Not made for it. We talk to our enemies, get info, follow them, lie and trick them, and then have men like Smith finish the mission as far away from us as possible. Hell, for all I know those men were innocent, but I sure as hell hope they're not, because I am not my father."

Smith says "We're not burying any more bodie, it is almost sunrise and the best solution is to drive the truck to a cliff, prop the two corpses in it and then push it over."
Smith goes into the van to grab some rope and moves to tie up the Pashto man. After tying him up, he starts searching the corpses for wallets, papers, anything.
