Smith says to Natalie, "We should take this equipment and develop this film, maybe we can find something useful in the photographs."
He then pockets the ammunition and then checks the Koran for any underlined passages, dog eared pages or something hidden in the spine of the book. He will use his knife to assist in the search.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

The magazine is specifically for the ak-47 rifle. The book has no other indications that it is anything other than what it is. However, taped to the inside is a series of numbers. They look to Smith to be a radio frequency.

Johnny "Razor" Macomb |

Sorry folks was sick and afk.
Ms. Betterman you have an excellent idea but I don't know if this vehicle is safe to drive. We should do a quick once over looking for any electrical that looks out of place. Also my suggestion would be that I drive this vehicle as it may be marked or reported to the authorities and I believe I have the most experience in driving. We should establish a rendezvous point in the event we get separated. Which should be the plan if official authorities get involved. Let's see if we can't get this vehicle unlocked and the trunk opened.
DM not sure what rolls it would take to do what I am describing. Basically I want to check the car for traps. Break into the car if there is no key. Open the trunk. Hot wire the car.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

Checking for traps would be a Search/Perception check. Disabling the lock if it is locked would be Security/Disable and hotwiring it would be Security/Hotwire.

Smith moves to the BMW and breaks the passenger side window with the but of the Kalashnikov.
Notice 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 for anything awry
if there is nothing out of place or extra dangerous he will grab the metal cylinder or plastic cylinder and pull it upward to unlock the door.
Foraging through the entire car for interesting stuff 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (10) + 11 = 21

Johnny "Razor" Macomb |

Smith pop the trunk. So these two can have a look inside while you search the car. I will be back with the van.
Realizing at this point speed is more important than discretion Razor takes off running for the parked van and will get back to the scene here as quickly as possible.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

Smith smashes the window easily, sending glass shards flying in the car. The keys on the seat are covered in glass and the contract on the passenger seat has a few shards as well. The glove box only seems to contain safety information.
Macomb reaches the van and finds it exactly as they left it.

Natalie Burns |

Dropping my cover for the moment, since this is more agent-y
Natalie frowns, and nods, then does what she can to drag the bodies out towards the car. She's not very strong, and as she hasn't the Bloodstain resistant feat, is trying not to get blood on her clothes. "Right. Let's just get this done as soon as we can..."

Timothy K Smith |

Smith exasperated drops what he is doing and says to Natalie, "Don't worry Nat, I will carry the bodies, they are after all my handiwork."
He then glares at Ward and shakes his head.
This is 35 years ago and soldier like Smith wouldn't dream of having a lady carry corpses not to get his suit dirty. I am IRL an equal opportunity kind of person though :)
He then grabs the first body and slings it over his shoulder like they taught him at Recondo School in Nha Trang.
He then says to Natalie, "I think I saw some blankets, if you could grab two or three to cover the bodies just in case someone drives by... Don't want anyone to think we just had a firefight or something or a blood trail in the street."

Johnny "Razor" Macomb |

On reaching the van Macomb quickly gets behind the wheel and drives it so that it's rear end is close to door of the building with the bodies.
He parks the vehicle and quickly swings around to the back opening the rear doors.
He then looks to see what he can do to aid in the moving of the dead bodies.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

As the crew works to move the dead bodies they created, Richard finds that the trunk indeed carries another body. This one is well dressed in a suit, but has blood dried all over the collar. The knife wound on his neck looks to be the source.

Timothy K Smith |

Smith looks and says, "We are lucky no one heard our shots but a fire, bad idea, we should leave the car as is throw the extra body in the van get some ink, take fingerprints, bury the bodies in the desert and go to the consulate tomorrow to see who these guys were."
I think the guy in the trunk was our contact.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

Ward's cursory search turns up an actual identification card for this man, one Kadal Pushmar, ISI*. If he was armed, he is no longer carrying a weapon, no is there any indication that he ever was.
*for those who are not in the know, Inter-Services Intelligence, Pakistan.

Natalie Burns |

What about this contract?
Natalie sighs, as she looks over this mess. " Okay we'll...do what we need to do with the bodies, but now we've got to locate a new safehouse. We can split up into two teams, one set dumps these, and myself and Jason perhaps go find us some different digs. Sound good?"

Johnny "Razor" Macomb |

Agreed. Smith do you mind riding in the back, I would prefer to have someone handy with a gun back there in case we get stopped or worse? We could really use a shovel or digging tool. Anyone have one? Otherwise we may have to drive into the wasteland a bit.
Natalie and Ward while I am driving keep an out for any remote abandoned structures that might work for a safe house.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

*makes some rolls* You can retcon the exchange of local currency..
Even though this part of town has been run down and apparently abandoned, probably the reason no one came at the sound of gunfire, there still does seem to be some entity that cares about the homes here. Ward spots, about 200 yards away, down the block a ways, what looks like a construction site. Surely, there has to be a shovel there...
Natalie looks over the contract, it seems legit enough. It has the late Kadal's name on it. Looks like it was rented just yesterday. Assuming that you are reading the Farsi correctly.

Jason "Snake" Ward |

Jason rarely has money on him, that's why he stated he had no money. Someone else might, however. He wasn't told how much anyone had on them. He was too busy being rich :P
"There's a construction site up ahead. We could drive up to it, see if there's a shovel, and get out."

Johnny "Razor" Macomb |

With everyone in the van Razor starts off down the road towards the construction site. Let me know if you see a shovel or something we can dig with. I'll stop the vehicle if not we roll on.
You mean Jason was too busy APPEARING rich. Nice suit, car and house but not many possessions other than those and no walking around cash.

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

You pull up to the construction site and notice that it seems to be just as abandoned as the rest of the area. It looks as if someone were remodeling one of the homes here and then suddenly stopped. That is when you notice a red Toyota pick up trundling down a dirt path towards the main part of the site. It looks to have two people in the cab and three more sitting in the truck bed.

Jason "Snake" Ward |

"Pull us up to the trunk and let me out. I'll take this. Nat, I'd appreciate your translating abilities. I'll tell them I've bought this site to rebuild the neighborhood as part of a Chandler Global Exports program to build houses in developing countries. Sound good?"

Timothy K Smith |

Smith says to Macomb, "Do not stop the van and lets get out of here now!"
He then looks at Ward and says, "We have four bodies in the back of the van and you want to stop and talk to a bunch of guys in a red pickup truck at night time. We need to get as far away from the crime scene, quickly."

Timothy K Smith |

Nat has a shovel
"I would rather tear down a road sign and use that. This is an unnecessary risk. They may have heard the gun shots. Better safe then sorry. Once we get to Afghanistan, I would feel more comfortable dropping bodies. There is a war zone. Here is not." says Smith.

Natalie Burns |

Natalie says warily, "They're probably with those other guys, I'd rather bail and tail them myself, but I really don't like the idea of being gunned down in a car..." She adds uncomfortably, " I'll back anyone else's play..."
She takes the contract, just in case.

Johnny "Razor" Macomb |

Macomb starts the van moving again. As if it just stopped at the site out of curiosity. He pulls out a cigarette and lights it before gaining any real speed. He keeps an eye on the truck in his mirrors. If it appears that the truck is following them he will gradually increase their speed.
People keep an eye on the guys in the truck. If you spot a weapon let me know. If you see one of them on a cell phone let me know.

Timothy K Smith |

Smith takes a belt off of one of the dead guys and uses it to secure himself to the inside of the van. Then he moves said dead bodies to the back of the van to serve as cover or as obstacles to be thrown out of the van, if need be.
Notice through the rear window of the van 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (9) + 6 = 15
Smith says, "Got it!"

Johnny "Razor" Macomb |

Sorry about the anachronism. I was typing that on my cell phone at the time coincidentally.
Well where to folks. The way I see it we have several actions that need to take place. Maybe we should prioritize and assign them to people if we feel safe splitting up or tackle as a group if we think that safety in numbers is more important than time efficiency right now.
As he talks Razor drives at the speed limit fleeing the towns and populated areas. He is trying to get to a remote location. All the while he is looking in his rear view mirror for a tail.
notice t20 e1-3 c15: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (19) + 0 = 19
The way I see it first priority is dumping the bodies in the back. Then second priority would be to secure lines of communication back to HQ. Third priority would be to make contact with Al-Salahar if possible failing that ISI. Fourth to find out what happened at the safe house. Only after all that can I believe we have a shot on getting this mission back on course. Did I leave anything out or any objections to that order of action?

Timothy K Smith |

Smith says, "Priority 1, dispose bodies. Priority 2 make contact with HQ and/or the ISI. What happened at the safe house is not a priority. Our mission is to rescue those people in Afghanistan. Two of those things we cannot do until morning, priority two is shelter for the night. Tomorrow morning, we can split up, one group goes to the US consulate, the other find ISI HQ. Going back to the site of the UNsafe house is foolish at best, the place is a crime scene and we do not want to be answering any of those questions to the local police."
After saying that, Smith keeps a look out the rear window of the van for anything out of the ordinary Notice 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (8) + 6 = 14

DM ShadowBloodmoon |

After driving for some time, you do notice that there are some vehicles that seem to be following you but then you realize it's possibly just your paranoia. After a good half hour, you are out in the middle of the edge of town. You keep driving until the roads become less paved and more dirt. Other than a few scant buildings here and there, there is very little signs of life here in the desert mountains.

Natalie Burns |

Natalie rolls up her sleeves, inverting her jacket as she gets out of the van when we find a suitable spot. "I'm not too certain of our options to get in contact. We don't have a radio frequency or anything, but Al-Salahar was supposed to find us at the safehouse. Maybe we can tradecraft up a deaddrop or something to get into contact with him?"
