It was just, cos in our other game, we started in a thunderhawk crashing towards the planet and then discovered no one could fly it! I am pretty sure bayou is right though, normal flying doesn't require a test.
Sorry for the delay here too. All worked out just need a chance to type it up. Should be tonight or tmrw.
Probably going to go wolf scout and keep it all wolves, considering the deed of disdain 'gene seed anamoly' if ok with the GM which will get me the skill medicae. I figure it makes sense for a scout to know a bit about 1st aid.

Hello all!
As I understand it you are already gearing up for the first mission. I don't mind sitting this one out and just monitoring the game play as I make my character - I did show up a little late after all!
If it's all the same to you, I'll wait for the role-call to get it's way through everybody and I can make something to sort of fit in with whatever seems to be missing. I'm more or less just excited to play and I don't much mind what sort of role I take the mantle of!

Trying to figure out requisition, we got any mission Intel? Considering jump pack but not sure if the environment will be suitable. Cartograph, pict recorder, and some melee weapon. Maybe missile launcher...
We gonna be planetside or on a hulk with orks and spores?

I need to look the mission info over one last time and will get you guys set with a brief and let you guys set you squad leader/oaths in the next day or two. Going to get all my materials in line the rest of the week with a goal of starting by Friday.
We will be making contact planet side on a Forest World.

Well I don't have a particular preference to any certain Chapter per-say; I like the Salamanders, the Lamenters, the Raven Guard, the Raptors and a number of other successor chapters.
In this case, I don't mind playing a Space Wolf since that seems to be the flavor of the game. We seem to be missing an Apothecary and a Techmarine; as a Space Wolf I couldn't be an Apothecary but could structure my character for gaining the Wolf Priest in order to fill the "healer" role after it becomes available. Another option is I could just play a different chapter and pick up Apothecary.
As for the Techmarine, they are convientent to have since they can really just crank through Tech-Use and have a few Lore skills, but I'm not sure how "necessary" they are.
What do you all think you would like to have to support the team?

Take your pick, i have taken a deed that gives me the medicae skill, but i'm never likely to be much good at it (without the gear and advancements). I have an apothecary statted up, which i can play if people want(really don't mind myself), so really is up to you.
If you do pick apothecary, i will probably switch out the deed if that is ok.

Well, the first mission is "WAAAAAGH" according to "game name" heh :) So lots of orcies
For further if we all like it and keep going and Bilbo have patience and we overall... we all are having blast of fun :) I can only imagine we will maybe do other stuff also and who knows what we will be facing.
and as Viluf said-> Erik is going toward Wolf Priest rank but that will happen laaaaater in the game when we ever reach that point.
Just have to crank up some extra 2000 exp to get my Stats over 45 (Planning to get them around 50)
I could imagine a Techmarine would be super considering the possibilities but you decide

Not to let too many squigs out of the bag, but expect orks, Tau, and some Chaos action along this run. If things get real sideways, we can adapt. The loss of a gene seed is a terrible thing, but it happens. So long as you die well and can be recovered....there is always the "honor" of being placed in a Dreadnought.

@Bayou I finally got a bit to look over several books and came up with some good stuff for your Black Shield. I will PM you to keep the mystery of your fella secret.
If anyone has any character changes they want to make, you have until you leave the Watch Station to do so. Your final arming will take place before making planet fall.
@Stormson, did you see there is a special talent for Deathwatch Scouts? I will need to look for it again to see if it would be of use to you, but saw it in passing this week before you had decided. Also, several sharpshooter/stalking items.

Being Black Shield I doubt they will know too much about you, Bayou. But, that is up to you. I would say the Wolves will all be acquainted given the closeness of that Chapter, though it will be the first mission for you all as Deathwatch members....you will have all worked together training up as a kill-team on second thought. So, yes, you are all acquainted.
Military units do not just send people from other random units to handle special missions, especially elite ones. While some unknowns will remain, the unit should be working together pretty well by now.
