Well sure...but we are far beyond "getting an edge". We have nothing but NPC classes to work with and EVENTUALLY we'll get class levels but will be behind level wise unless this game goes into Epic levels instead of the standard 20 cap.
Also, everyone is vampire/skellyman/lich/etc. is fine enough, but I don't like single consistency groups as much as a rag-tag of interesting individuals. Sure it'd be fun to all be Human Townsguard [Read Human Warrior/Fighter] that kick off a succession of the throne and ascend to demon-kind (descend?) but I'd say it's just as much fun to work together with Ocean's 666.
Like I said, I'm up for anything, and it's cool if we want to do something story-wise like that - but I think we are far into the realm of never getting and edge up on anything.
I'm more or less up for anything. Although I suppose I prefer rag-tag groups with a good mix of things
I'm thinking of a Jean D'Arc type who ultimately failed (she is in prison after all).
dotting for interest. Don't know much about the ap though, I will have to read up some!
dotting with some interest. I the concept and the grey piece customization is an interesting idea.
Barring character interaction and alignment - is the game lending itself towards more PvP, jolly co-operation, or really not skewed one way or another?
If guns are a thing I'd be down for a wandering desperado sorta thing. I was originally thinking something outta Path of War too actually. Not necessarily a "martial artist" or anything.
Question, are bands of roving humans and "cities" a thing? Or has most everyone kicked the bucket?
I've never done E6 so I'll have to give the rules a look over. But dotting for interest for gestalt!

How long do you think recruitment will be up for this game?
I'd estimate that recruitment closes on Sunday (earlier if there are way too many characters submitted). After that's done, I'll take a short pause from Monday to Thursday (I have a business trip with limited internet access, no point starting the game before I can actually GM properly!). Game begins on Friday, 3rd of July.
All this is just an estimate though.
Thanks! Follow up question, do you know how many players you are going to have?
Hey GM MG,
How long do you think recruitment will be up for this game?

I'm thinking of a "cursed" summoner where the Eidolon and magic ability are reflavored as a demonic pact sort of thing. No rules changes or anything, just fluff. Ah, the reflavor sounds great. Consider having your eidolon being a demon or daemon, perhaps?
Yeah, downside that means I'm likely going to be evil, upside I get a grumbly demon who doesn't understand why I don't just kill a bunch of people at all times.

I'm looking at doing the Cutthroat archetype for the Slayer. Is this okay?
Hard core stats. I like that attitude. Cutthroat is OK.

I have a question about Unchained Summoner, am I still in control of my summon as a player or is that something you would control for me And I'd just have to give it orders?
As a player you control both the summoner and the eidolon, unless your eidolon's alignment or nature strongly opposes the action you give it (eg. archons won't harm the innocent and fire elementals refuse to swim etc). More player agency, less GM trouble. (Quick-edit: I'll just clarify that the player has direct control over the eidolon's actions; the summoner doesn't need to give it actions every single second. The thing has 7 Intelligence, after all.)
Summoned creatures always attack your enemies when they are summoned. A summoner can, as a free action, give them orders (like "don't attack" or "guard so-and-so character"), assuming the summoner speaks language that the summoned creature(s) understand.
The summoner and the eidolon act on their respective Initiative orders. I suggest you include both actions in your posts, like this:

Eidolon full-attacks.

Dotting for interest. I love LoZ. I have a soft spot for Geruodos a d was thinking Geruodo magus, but that might be a little too on the nose so to speak.
Maybe a triumphant Goron paladin or something.
I don't know...I'll think of something.
Dotting for interest.
This game sounds really neat, and I'd never heard of it before
2d10 ⇒ (3, 3) = 6+3 = 9
2d10 ⇒ (10, 10) = 20+0 = 20
2d10 ⇒ (9, 10) = 19+0 = 19
2d10 ⇒ (10, 2) = 12+2 = 14
2d10 ⇒ (3, 5) = 8+3 = 12
Well, that's a range...not particularly good at a few things, but amazing at a couple.
I don't see why not, I'm already in one, but I'd love to be in another we r and try out a different sort of character.

I'm definetly interested in a Space Western game. I've never heard or looked at Boot Hill, but from the sounds of it, it won't be anything particularly distasteful.
Without any real 'social' characteristics how does roleplaying socially 'against' NPCs break down?
For example; if I lie about where I obtained these here crates of Crossian Blastcaps ("I don't know really, here I was just minding my own business when *BAM!* they smacked right into the Void Sheild of my little Cruiser here - poor girl almost cracked up.")
Do you just randomly decide if I'm believable enough or do we roll a high-low sorta thing (flip a coin, but with dice)?
AS for character concept: Standard Space Cowboy/Drifter
"You know, it's funny how at one point you can be at the top, and the next you're hanging for it. When the war started - what you may call the "Ban'esh Conflict" - we were all Marshals; I was a Marshal, my C.O was a Marshal, heck - the guy I was shootin' was a Marshal! When we was all rounded up, the able bodied of us were handed a shiny titanium star and a brand new 'Nova-Sixer'. At the time the Nova' was about as good a sidearm as you could find; now we give 'em to scrap, but I digress - we all thought we were upholding the law, unfortunately so did they. When the dust of the Ban'esh System settled, after the cracking of Ghor Minora, they were the victors. Some died, others ran, a good number lucked out and just had to sit in the Bastil for a time. When we got out we had a few options, stay System-Side as disgraced gangers, or leave. I knew when it was time to get movin' and I did. Not a single 'Cred to my name, no protection, and a leased Corbin IV 'Scuttler' that was missing it's Supercilious Core. Now I'm making a pittance Expediting, but at least I got food, company, and my freedom again; and after a 10 stretch in the Bastil, nothing beats that."
It's a pretty standard troupe/story of a once-lawman on the wrong side of a losing fight, it just happens to be one I like to play. I'd hope to be a kind of jack of all trades - not really particularly good at anything, but can come through in a pinch if needed. He's a pretty good face/charmer and gets along seemingly by luck; having coined it as life's already spent all his bad luck, and only has good left to give.
Dotting for interest, will have an idea up shortly.
Sorry all, I got slammed with some work. It's all figured out now though.
Just for Info I will be running Techmarine and he'll be up tomorrow night at the latest.
Well I don't have a particular preference to any certain Chapter per-say; I like the Salamanders, the Lamenters, the Raven Guard, the Raptors and a number of other successor chapters.
In this case, I don't mind playing a Space Wolf since that seems to be the flavor of the game. We seem to be missing an Apothecary and a Techmarine; as a Space Wolf I couldn't be an Apothecary but could structure my character for gaining the Wolf Priest in order to fill the "healer" role after it becomes available. Another option is I could just play a different chapter and pick up Apothecary.
As for the Techmarine, they are convientent to have since they can really just crank through Tech-Use and have a few Lore skills, but I'm not sure how "necessary" they are.
What do you all think you would like to have to support the team?
I'll roll some stats so I can at least get those out of the way:
2d10 + 30 ⇒ (1, 2) + 30 = 33
2d10 + 30 ⇒ (7, 3) + 30 = 40
2d10 + 30 ⇒ (6, 6) + 30 = 42
2d10 + 30 ⇒ (7, 6) + 30 = 43
2d10 + 30 ⇒ (8, 3) + 30 = 41
2d10 + 30 ⇒ (6, 10) + 30 = 46
2d10 + 30 ⇒ (7, 5) + 30 = 42
2d10 + 30 ⇒ (10, 3) + 30 = 43
2d10 + 30 ⇒ (6, 10) + 30 = 46
And a Reroll
2d10 + 30 ⇒ (4, 10) + 30 = 44
Whelp, no 50s, but with the reroll replacing the 33 I've got nothing below 40 which is good enough for me!
Hello all!
As I understand it you are already gearing up for the first mission. I don't mind sitting this one out and just monitoring the game play as I make my character - I did show up a little late after all!
If it's all the same to you, I'll wait for the role-call to get it's way through everybody and I can make something to sort of fit in with whatever seems to be missing. I'm more or less just excited to play and I don't much mind what sort of role I take the mantle of!
Also dotting for interest. I hope not to late, I just saw this threa! I'll look over more closely this evening after work.
Dotting for interest.
I really like a good detective narrative and this sounds really interesting!
I had never heard of MCB, so I hope it won't be too much a problem if I'm pretty new. I just picked up the book through DrivThru so I'm giving it a read now.
1 person marked this as a favorite.

It looks as though I might be more than a little late to the party, so if there's no room I completely understand!
I have a little experience with DW, I played a Techmarine; I know the basics of how the game works and such.
That being said. I like the idea of being part of a 10th company and working my way up to being a full-fledged space marine and not just a scout - so if that's still a part of this game that would be really cool to do. If not a regular marine is fine as well.

Dotting for interest and will monitor thread. I've always been interested in this sort of arc, although normally I fall into a tendency of redeeming the villain and going from Evil to Slightly Better Than Satan.
Although I agree with the idea that having characters "switch-over" at different times might lead to a few headaches, I think through role playing this will lead to some interesting scenes. I mean -
The Goody-Two Shoes Bard has no coin and pickpockets an extravagantly wealthy traveler - justifying it since the party has no money due to some ill attempt at doing good and no one is giving out coin for his songs.
The Paladin (going with extreme stereotypes but could have been anyone) sees this and they have a quick exchange. In the end the coin is kept and the Paladin starts to face some harsh realities about his/her actions and consequences. (ie, even though they ran out of gold doing good, it left them in a worse spot than was intended)
It's a basic and honestly crude scenario, but it's a good illustration of what I mean. Just because one party member starts to go grey it can be roleplayed as a setup for other party members to get some introspection into their character's and their choices/lives, quite possibly causing their actions from then on to be swayed a little more evil until soon enough everyone has actually strayed from the path.
So recently I've been really getting into the Traveller RPG (from Mongoose Publishing, not the other versions). I haven't really ever GMed it, and the one game I played in were just me and a friend doing a one shot sorta thing to see how the rules work out.
What do you all think of the game, and would anybody be interested in either 1) GMing or 2) Playing with a sort of "First Time" GM
