I am apologize for the threadjack and disturbing, but I would like to just remaind Nightflier of "Return to Korvosa" game. Hopefully you have the time to keep this game going or other business to attend, which takes time. Just to inform us players, since we all are waiting. Some time has just passed and would like to hear something about this[/threadjack]

I have posted in the game thread. The game will pick up soon.

As a bonded Item I can enchant it as if I have the craft skill. Theoretically it could have occurred as part of the draining ritual.
Just post here how you want to enchant your blade, and when I approve, post the description of the action in the game thread. After that I will write another dream sequence and the next part of the game will begin.

pretty sure that because you need to be 3x the level of the enchantment mod all she can do right now is make a +1 weapon.
Though there are a few enchantments and tricks that technically don't count as a +1 mod, so she could stack those on all she wants with your ok.

I am fine with that. I'm waiting to see her enchantment plan.

Hmm. Big obstacle.
According to the Arcane bond description, you can enchant your item as if you had the proper item creation feats, but you still need to meet the level requirements.
Craft Arms and Armor requires 5th level.
The only feat she can have is Craft Wondrous Item.
Lucky for us, that's the best one (since anything can be a wondrous item.
Looking at you are limited to spells you cast, but lucky for us we have a Ritual Caster in our midst, so you are counted as the caster for any spell that the entire group has.
There's a lot of options there, especially since XP and gold piece costs aren't an issue. We're pretty much limited only by time and creativity.
Under the rules, stacking multiple enchantment effects on the same item only increases the cost of subsequent enchantments by 1.5x normal. Again, not really an issue because we're in midnight and don't need to light diamonds on fire to enchant stuff.
Some possibilities based on the spells our group has. You could make the sword act as-
a cloak of resistance +1
a pearl of power (1st or 2nd level)
gloves of arrow snaring (sword blocks arrows = cool)
There's a lot of other possibilities, especially if you want to get into items with Charges
Ragnar Death-Speaker |
I'm thinking +1
Unfortunately you can't actually give the sword an enhancement bonus yet. An On Use Ghost Sound and Light effect, and the Arrow Snaring effect are both doable at your level.
We need to calculate cost to figure out crafting time length, but other than that we're good.
Ilona and Ragnar fighting together is going to be like a rock concert. Light and sound everywhere.
Ilona Ebonblade |
I'd go with Ghost Sound/Light/Arrow snaring and if possible, 1st level Pearl of power.
I'd store Magic Weapon, coupled with the bonded item ability to store a spell (also magic weapon) meaining that for at least 2 battles a day Requiem will aso be a +1 sword for a few rounds.
And yeah Ilona and Ragnar in combat are a Nightwish video.
Ragnar Death-Speaker |
The only thing we need to worry about here is time taken to enchant. 15 energy is more than we can possibly use on Requiem.
Here's your shopping cart. Pick as many of them as you want. The most expensive effect you pick is the Primary effect, all other abilities are Secondary. Secondary effects are 1.5x listed cost, which basically just means 1.5x listed time taken.
---------------------
Protection From Arrows 2000 = 2 days
Light (0th level, cast at 1st, use activated/continuous) 1000 = 1 day
Ghost Sound (0th level, cast at 1st, 2nd or 3rd, use activated/continuous) 1000, 2000 or 3000 = 1, 2 or 3 days
Pearl of Power (1st) effect 1000 = 1 day
some other options-
On hit cast Healing Sting on target x1 per day (2nd level, cast at 3rd, spell trigger) 2160 = 2 days
Continuous Resist Energy (fire) (2nd level cast at 3rd, continuous) 12,000 = 12 days

Well. Illona took off all of her clothes to go into the fire to keep them from being burnt. Her skin was continuously burnt and healed, but hair is effectively clothes that grow out of our bodies and not something that can heal, just regrow. In a sense, once burned off, she should have to wait the normal 1/2 inch (1.2 cm) per month growth rate.
I, of course, never meant anything more than that >o< :D

Sorry, guys. I was called on a family emergency during the weekend, so I haven't read the thread. I'm back now, though. During the last two months RL impaired the game and I am truly sorry about that. I'll try to make it up to you.
No problem. Real life takes precedence. Hope everything's going alright.

It's pretty much settled. Not a big deal, but time consuming.

Gilian stretches as she wakes, strangely refreshed by this strange dream.
She gets up with a renewed purpose and starts to pack her belongings."We have tarried long enough here. We still are ahead of Zafina and her troop and we should move. I think the refugees will survive here and if we stay here too long they may rely too much on us. Let's wait for Ilona to wake up and go."
Illona only took about a day to attune to the nexus, and she hasn't even started enchanting her weapon. That will take about a week. Then we have to drain it, which will take time as well.
We're nowhere near ready to leave.
Sorok Hamfael |
I know it would be a waste but since we don't have any of the item creation feats to make a handful of useful items, it could simply be used to power spells once the enchanting is complete. Due to the fact the nexus is rather weak if our only goal is to exhaust it, it won't take very long at all.
nightflier |
If everything's ok'd I can write up the enchanting plocess unless Nightflier wants to wax expository and speedup thre process. Either way is fine by me.
If you know how you want to enchant the blade, you can write it up. If not, I'm gonna do it for you. The whole week can be covered in one post, basically. After that, you will be dream-guided to the next stepping stone.

Requiem is now +1 magic weapon. It has several other abilities.
1) Return to the hand: Requiem responds to Ilona's will as guided by her hand. This ability functions as Mage Hand spell.
2) Bright is the death: Requiem's blade burns with dark purplish flames. They are small in size, looking like the natural gas burning. They shed the light equal to that of a torch. This ability functions as Light spell.
3) Kiss of death: Whenever Requiem ends a life in the heat of battle, it drains a piece of the slain person's soul. Requiem absorbs 1d4 points of spell energy from the killed being, as long as it is alive and not undead, construct or similar creature. Requiem can store an amount of spell energy equal to his wielder's spellcasting ability modifier plus the wielder's character level.
Ilona, please change the Requiem's description in your profile.

WHAT? It's cool. ;p
Besides which with bonded item you can't cast spells without it.

Love it. The shift to a more powerful yet more elegant blade is very "Bleach"

I haven't watched "Bleach", but perhaps I should. I just had an image of you casting spells directly from the blade and decided that the nexus' necromantic affinity should be reflected in some significant way in description of the blade and its powers.

My life is back in order, finally. We have finished the nexus part of the game and the next part is to begin. Are everyone still here? Chops, you still with us? :)
All of you, 1 Fate Point for draining the nexus and destroying the Progenitor of the Black Blood dwarfs.
Yep. I just figured that after my side-story with Solvistania, that I would not interrupt the forging and the nexus.
