@Caromarc - I reread the rules and realize I was being a dingbat, you're right it is only half damage, (not 50% miss chance, which applies to effects that don't cause damage). In this case, Elspeth would still take 11 damage though (if full damage was 23), wouldn't she?

@Network - your read on zen archers and Perfect shot is correct. It's sounds great now that quinn gets 3 shots and using PS on the last one. Then the issue comes next level when he has 4 shots, last two is at +1. Which one to choose for PS? hmmmm

We should be care about Spell Resistance. Drake should have 18 SR, being Dragon type. Creature types have qualities that get inherited.
Dazing Touch (sp)? Not that its a big deal for the heavy hitters we got.

That's a good point, but even a 10 hit dice dragon (red dragon) doesn't have spell resistance listed in their entry in the bestiary. I don't think SR kicks in until about 12 or 14 HD. The drakes are degenerate cousins of dragons, and this one only had 8 HD. (If it did have at least one more hit die, dazing touch wouldn't have worked).

Quinn can heal himslef for 7 point via his monk ability, Wholeness of Body. That should help alleviate some charges, otherwise we should all be close to max before we encounter the boss.
@Network: YES!!!! Wand won't help either and might kill Elspeth!

Evacuate, except for airman-Sandru. He's keeping it aloft so everyone else can get out safely. Although he doesn't seem quite himself, he does appear to "know" what he's doing.

The ship is 200 ft in the air. (If you get dumped from the ship and fall from this height, you take 20d6 damage.) The rope ladders are about 160 ft long, enabling you to drop from them 20 ft to the roof of the police station.
If you use the rope ladders - 20 ft drop. Unless PCs have alternate means (e.g. Ianez's feather fall ring), they should probably climb down the ladder and make an Acrobatics check (DC 15) to land on the roof. If the check is successful, they take 1d6 points of nonlethal damage. If the check is unsuccessful, they take 1d6 points of nonlethal damage and 1d6 points of damage.

Is there a way for Quinn to use slow fall by using the police station itself? He has slow fall 30 feet.
•Level 6 - Slow Fall 30 ft - a monk within arm's reach of a wall can use it to slow his descent. When first gaining this ability, he takes damage as if the fall were 20 feet shorter than it actually is. The monk's ability to slow his fall (that is, to reduce the effective distance of the fall when next to a wall) improves with his monk level.

I don't think so, because there's no wall within arm's reach. He could use it to descend from the roof of the station to the ground though (or if he wants to smash and drop through a skylight or something).

Yes. If you drop from the bottom of the ladder, Acrobatics DC 15 enables you to avoid 1d6 lethal damage and only take 1d6 nonlethal damage. If you jump from the top of the roof to the ground, you can use Slow Fall against the wall of the police station to avoid all damage.

There was a campaign that Sandru and I were on where an Elf ranger wanted to be fancy in attacking some orcs and ogres, so this guy decides to roll for jumping on the horse's ass, rolls for maintaining balance and then shots an arrow towards the orcs.

Network - if you held off destroying MM because he can't be brought back, he has that special ability that means he can be (albeit at significant cost).
Am okay to have the fire kill him. He wouldn't abandon Sandru, and Sandru wouldn't risk the orphanage.

So, it turns out while I kept adding the HP to his profile, I didn't ever actually update his HP total since he started this game four levels ago. I realised he might actually have had enough HP to almost survive this. If he took 66 damage then applied the DR 2/magic and the 5 from the ablative barrier he'd be on 1HP.
I thought Network was fudging, but looks like he knows the character better than I do.
