Aliva Kulthane |
Aliva's head swims as she drops to the group, moments later her eyes open again. "What happened?" The pressure of this battle making her ignore her own wounds.
Fervor: 1d6 ⇒ 6
Aliva quickly mutters a silent prayer, healing energy washing over her.
Up to 11 hp, out of Fervor for the day

Irakelesh lands a well placed blow on the undead, but as he expects it only does minor damage. Ai'sha drops her blade again as she goes to retrieve the wand and heal Aliva. As she regains consciousness, laying on the ground, she uses the power of Milani to heal herself further.
G'nock looses two arrows again.
Longbow: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 6 + 1 + 1 - 2 = 26
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Confirm: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (7) + 6 + 1 + 1 - 2 = 13
Damage: 2d8 + 2 ⇒ (2, 6) + 2 = 10
Longbow: 1d20 + 6 + 1 + 1 - 2 ⇒ (18) + 6 + 1 + 1 - 2 = 24
Damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (7) + 1 = 8
The first shot, even though well placed, doesn't leave a mark while the other does cause a minor injury.
Seeing that his prey is, in fact, not dead the creature attempts to remedy that by attacking Aliva again.
Attack-Aliva, Prone: 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 4 = 20
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Attack-Aliva, Prone: 1d20 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 + 4 = 20
Damage: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
It claws into some of Aliva's recently healed wounds ripping them back open again.
Round 8
Enemies, > Party
Irakelesh |
Irakelesh grimaces. Neither his attacks nor those from his companions are causing much damage but there isn't anything else he can do. He continues to swing his morningstar in hopes that he lands a lucky hit.
morningstar,enlarged: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
damage,enlarged: 2d6 + 1 ⇒ (3, 1) + 1 = 5
Aliva Kulthane |
Aliva grunts as the claws hit her, getting to her feet AoO Aliva tries to bring her Morning star to bear.
Morning Star: 1d20 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (11) + 1 + 1 + 1 = 141d8 + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 2 + 1 + 1 + 1 = 8
G'nock |
G'nock takes a moment to calm his breathing, and to focus. He looses two more arrows.
longbow: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 2 - 1 - 1 = 25
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3
longbow: 1d20 + 6 + 2 - 1 - 1 ⇒ (19) + 6 + 2 - 1 - 1 = 25
damage: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
G'nocks aim is true, but he notes that only half his shots are hurting the creature.
Ai'sha |
Ai'sha drops the wand for another strike at the undead.
Attack: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26 Damage(Arcane Strike): 1d6 + 3 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 3 + 1 = 5
Crit?: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
G'nock |
"Fitless!"
G'nock rushes over to help, then stands helplessly over his fallen comrade; he has no idea what to do to help, no experience that would apply.
Irakelesh |
After a couple minutes Irakelesh shrinks down to his normal size. "You know, I haven't ever tried that before. It is an interesting experience." He pats down his clothes and the items hanging off his belt just to see that everything has returned to normal size.
"Before we continue in this tomb, I think we might need to rest. Do you think it's safe for us to head back to the Hookah for the night? I don't want someone else to come take our tomb while we're gone. Maybe it would be better just to go out to the front door and sleep in the courtyard."
Irakelesh offers these suggestions while he is poking around the undead creatures' bodies. He checks for anything valuable that they might have been carrying. Also, not that he's not being attacked, he investigates the surroundings more carefully.
Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (3) + 6 = 9 +2 more on checks to find concealed or secret doors in structures built in the style of Ancient Osirion.
Aliva Kulthane |
Aliva stands on her feet, blood pouring down her body for multiple little wounds, pulling out a flask she pops the top with her thumb and drinks it.
CLW: 1d8 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
"That and I need someone to remove this curse, Irakelesh and Ai'Sha you are both local can you tell me someone who can?" Aliva asks
GM Dak |
While the group discusses their next steps Irakelesh looks about the room. There isn't much of interest except for a few ceremonial religious tools, including a silver chalice, a silver ritual knife, and a tithing box, that are scattered across the floor. There is a wooden cabinet but it appears to be empty.
Irakelesh |
Irakelesh gathers the religious items together. "Yeah, Ai'sha's right. That's the best option. Hey, maybe one of us should hold onto this silver knife. Maybe we'll need it. But for the rest of this stuff, we can take it back and sell it." His glance turns towards Fitliss. "I don't know if we can help him much here. We should probably carry him back to the inn and ask the innkeeper to find someone to care for him. What do you all think"
G'nock |
"We need rest in any case, and Aliva needs professional help; perhaps we should return to town for the evening with Fitliss. There wasn't much reward for our efforts here ..."
G'nock takes a turn examining the wooden cabinet as well, checking for traps.

Aliva Kulthane |
The way we came
Aliva nods at the assessment, "We should see the Church quickly so we can see if they have the spells available, if we wait to long the Church may have run out of spells." Aliva Helps to carry whatever is needed to be carried out.
GM Dak |
Playing it safe the party backtracks into the main hall and then heads for the exit. They navigate back to the city gate out of the necropolis and eventually make their way to the Grand Mausoleum, Wati's temple of Pharasma.
As you arrive with Fitliss still unconscious one of the acolytes promptly comes to great you. "May the Lady of Graves judge you worthy. Welcome to the Grand Mausoleum. You all look pretty banged up, what can we do for you?"
Irakelesh |
"Well, our companion here will need some long term care, I'm afraid. And we've got some curses ourselves that we'd like to have removed. Is that possible?"
I still have dex damage. Is that from a curse? I think that I also have that mark on my forehead from waaaay early on in this adventure. Who else has a problem?
GM Dak |
Hm, no the curse was the straight -4 penalty on attack rolls, saves, ability checks, and skill checks. Dex damage may have been something before I jumped in. We'll just say that heals up over night, the mark I believe should have worn off too.
To note, you and Aliva aren't feeling that great either, likely because something else is wrong that just hasn't come into effect yet.
The woman looks over the gnome briefly and nods while waving over a couple other acolytes "We will see what we can do. As for your curse, I am sure one of the high priests can help you. However, such a service is not cheap. Such things require a donation to the church of one hundred and fifty gold per casting."
Aliva Kulthane |
Aliva nods, "I understand, Milani's own power is a costly thing as well." Aliva says handing over the coin to the high priest when they arrive.
Once healed
"We should sell some of the items we have, having that curse lifted has almost taken all my funds that I had left." Aliva says flexing her muscles as they start to feel better.
I hope we level soon haha, I have 248 gold left. I don't really need any supplies and have a master work Weapon plus the scarab shield.
G'nock |
Relatively, I'm in pretty good shape, albeit down a few hp. I'll inventory this evening and, if we're staying 'home' for the day, make a quick shopping list ... I should at least top up the arrow supply.
"I agree; we should convert what we can to gold and prepare for our next move. I think I need more arrows ..."
Ai'sha |
"I think we should go back as soon as we can, It seemed like someone was there already and I don't fancy coming back to find an empty temple."
Irakelesh |
"Ai'sha, I don't know what has come over you but you seem to be agreeing with me more and more. You are right, we need to head back as soon as possible. Bright and early tomorrow morning, I'd say."
Aliva Kulthane |
"Yes after some well needed sleep." Aliva says as they hurry about the city trying to sell their items.
Really we could head back in the middle of the night depending on how long it takes us to sell things.
Haji Hamidi Musaraji |
"We should sell some of the items we have, having that curse lifted has almost taken all my funds that I had left."
"I agree; we should convert what we can to gold and prepare for our next move. I think I need more arrows ..."
"I think we should go back as soon as we can, It seemed like someone was there already and I don't fancy coming back to find an empty temple."
"Ai'sha, I don't know what has come over you but you seem to be agreeing with me more and more. You are right, we need to head back as soon as possible. Bright and early tomorrow morning, I'd say."
While you consider your next actions in the temple foyer, an imposing figure approaches you. The man is almost 2 m tall and wears ragged clothes that have seen many days and nights in the desert and maybe worse. Beneath you hear the clatter of plate mail. The slow but steady movement towards you also suggests some form of heavy armor. You can't quite make out his face under a hood, but you instantly notice the arsenal of weapons strapped to his back.
"So, you're going back to the place that wounded and cursed you? Are you all mad?" He speaks with a loud and rough voice that made him seem much older than what your first impression was.He lifts his hood and you see a (probably) half-elven face with more scars in it than most have on their whole body. His scruffy looks makes you wonder what he was doing in this temple or even in this part of the town. He would fit much better into the slums, the wilderness or a battle front.
Aliva Kulthane |
Aliva stands up straight looking at the man, pained expressions written all over her face.
"Mad maybe to someone who does not know us." Sweat continues to pour down Aliva's face, the hot air does not mix well with heavier armor. "Why is it that you talk so to someone you do not know? I will ask where you hail from maybe it will explain your manners."
Haji Hamidi Musaraji |
"You seek manners? In this place? These times? Good luck finding those..."
He pauses considers the group. "But maybe you're right. I apologize. Our manners might just be all we have left in this ending world. My name is Haji Hamidi Musaraji and where I come from is not important."
Again he pauses, thinking. "And I know who you are. I know the stories. You're treasure hunters, thrill seekers and maybe crazy explorers. But is it really worth it? What riches are worth risking someone's life, when clearly you're outnumbered to the evil down there or else you wouldn't be here?"
Ai'sha |
"Doesn't matter by how much they outnumber me, they have no chance!", Ai'sha says, proudly. "Besides, the riches are nice, but seeing Irakelesh make a fool of himself is even better! You had to see him being all corteous and nice to two undead, not noticing they were just disguised, hah!"
Haji Hamidi Musaraji |
"Well, I judged you correctly then. You fools really need some help!"
He paused again, taking a good look at each of the group. Then he mumbled "A pretty girl like you really shouldn't ... WELL, what have you found so far?"
Ai'sha |
"Yeah they definitely do, even I can't take care of them all by myself. Well, this is our third assigned ruin, so we found a few artifacts and many monsters already. Mostly undead and constructed guardians."
Aliva Kulthane |
"We could use some muscle who can swing a big blade or hammer around." Aliva says to Hajl, "I stand at the front but I can only take so much, we met some Djinn who cursed me but the Priestess here helped with that."
G'nock |
"As well as a healer; with Fitliss out of commission, we have little way to restore ourselves after a fight."
G'nock ponders the Haji's rough appearance ... In front of the party sounds like a good place for this fighter until he proves himself trustworthy.
Haji Hamidi Musaraji |
"You may have my sword. This may sound crazy, but I don't have anywhere better to be. Might as well die in a tomb."
Aliva Kulthane |
Aliva tries to track down any other adventures that are at the temple at present, going to the office of the organizer looking for people who have lost their party or are looking to join a new one.
Khufukhaf |
Khufu is sitting at a table in the Tooth and Hookah eating a meal.
He is dressed in a set of almost priestly raiments dedicated to one of the old gods of the sun, with a large sunburst stitched on the chest of his robes.
He has his dagger out, cutting bits of steak to feed to the impressive looking hawk sitting on his shoulder.
About every third time he goes to had the bird a strip of meat, the hawk nips him with his beak as he takes the food.
"Ouch!!! Watch my fingers Little Ra! Don't be ungrateful for your dinner. We don't know where dinner tomorrow is going to come from."
Irakelesh |
Irakelesh takes in the now familiar sights of the Hookah's gathering room. "That guy?" Irakelesh points nonchalantly at the man that Aliva pointed out. "You want me to go to talk with him? I mean, that's our new party member? He seems little flightly." Irakelesh chuckles at his own joke. "You know, I was kind of hoping for a prettier one, or something. But that's fine. Let's go talk."
Irakelesh strolls across the room and pulls out a chair at the man's table. He flips the chair around and plops down in it backwards. "So, I hear you are looking for a party to join. Just so happens we're looking for someone to join our party." He motions to himself, Aliva, Ai'sha, G'nock, and Haji. "As you can see, we're a pretty good looking bunch. At least some of us. So, are you the man we're looking for?"
Khufukhaf |
"Blessings of the sun upon you!" Khufu responds.
"Screee!!!!" the bird chimes in.
"Hush, Little Ra." Khufu says to the bird, handing him a scrap of meat.
To Iralelesh: "I am indeed looking to find an endeavor in which I can bring Ra's light to the dark places of the world."
Aliva Kulthane |
"What do you know of Nethy's? We are currently assigned to a old temple of his and have encountered things that to me don't seem to be what we would have expected. We also suspect someone else is there." Aliva says
Khufukhaf |
"I have some knowledge of the young gods and their worship, although I personally follow one of the gods of our ancestors."
Haji Hamidi Musaraji |
Religion : 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (2) + 7 = 9
"Nethys? That must be that magic thing god, right?"
Irakelesh |
"Well then. We're the ones your looking for. "
Knowledge(religion),free inspiration: 1d20 + 10 + 1d6 ⇒ (19) + 10 + (4) = 33
"Nethys? I know pretty much everything there is to know about him. I mean, I've certainly studied a lot. He is that magic thing god, as you say Haji."
Is there anything I happen to remember about Nethys?
