The name 'Irakelesh' means son of the kings. Families often bestow that name on their firstborn son as they rest their hopes of fame and greatness on his life. This was the case with Irakelesh, the son of Bahram and Zarishu, both members of Serbystes II's royal vizir staff. Growing up in the grand palace made life easy for Irakelesh. But while his parents had grand plans for his life, his vision was in a completely different direction. He saw little value in the haughty and arrogant attitudes that so many of his palace peers showed to the lower born. He eschewed the courtly power games as much as possible and instead buried himself in studies. He took full advantage of the top academies in Katheer excelling in all areas of knowledge, especially history.
Irakelesh's parents started to notice that their son wasn't living up to their plans for his life and tension began to grow. Soon Irakelesh's life was full of endless lectures of how he would never be able to survive in the world if he didn't start playing the politics game. Comments about 'our kind of people' only served to heighten his awareness of the injustice he saw around him.
When Irakelesh heard about the happenings in Wati he saw an opportunity. It was an opportunity to get away from his parents' overbearing pressure and an opportunity to explore history. He told his parents about his plans. They didn't take it well. He was forced to leave without their blessing and without their money. But he was not deterred. Soon he arrived in Wati. A tall, young, handsome man ready to uncover the great secrets of the Osiriani tombs.
Appearance: Irakelesh is moderately tall (6' 6") with black hair and brown eyes. He has a beard that is braided into a single strang from his chin but his cheeks and upper lip are kept clean shaven. His brown skin gives away his desert-dwelling heritage.
