@ GM:
Rediz got 3 damage from the ball last round, than 5 more damage falling.
But then he got channeled by Francis and should have been back up to full health (Which Is why I did not roll the damage)

so right now I should have 18 or 14 damage depending on how my reflex save goes.

@ Francis: What do you believe this spell will do? Best case it take he fails a 50/50 Saving throw and then has to make a 90% Concentration check. so 95% chance of no effect. or do I miss something.

That's definitely an odd spell. Cast in the middle of a combat against a spellcaster though, I could see it having a good chance of having the enemy spellcaster try and recast the same spell he already cast, forgetting he had already cast it? Maybe that's the intent? Does it seem like it would work that way?

Well if you would have healed rediz he could keep on chucking bombs instead of wasting actions on getting away from that sphere, so that would probably be the most efficient use of a spell in overall damage dealt.

Well that ship has sailed so I am left wondering if I should try to just hit him twice to end it now, but if I am wrong, I will probably be toast.

Everyone should be carrying a ranged weapon. No matter how neat and significant their whack 'em doohickey might be, it's worth exactly nothing if they can't reach the problem. This is a fundamental.

If it does stack he was hit by 5 of them so far I believe so I would have to roll even more damage but that sounds vastly overpowered.

Not for stacking, was thinking you gave me the damage from the previous round and I wanted to know what he was taking at the beginning of your turn in the next round. By 'last round' I meant Round 5, and I wanted to know the damage he'd take in Round 6 on your action.

Argh! I screwed up and left Soumral 1 point short in Spellcraft. I'd planned to go into Pathfinder Savant at 7th, but it will have to wait until 8th. I guess it's not so bad though, she will get 4th level spells right away if she takes Wizard at 7th. Maybe that's better really.

If I understand it correctly Elliander is a MAgus and as such can also copy spells from that spellbook.

He would be a Magus in Pathfinder, but he is a left-over Duskblade from Dnd3.5. I generally believe PF has more to offer when it comes to spells.

The Magus spell list is fine.
The question is if Elliander can learn more spells from that list by studying another’s spellbook, or only unlock spells when he levels up?
Looking a little at the magus, it seems the magus uses a spellbook and prepares spells in advance.
A duskblade does not use a spellbook and does not have to prepare them in advance.

I like the Magus spell list because it I think it keeps to the fighter/spellcaster theme that the duskblade was in 3.5. My ruling is that Elliander can't learn spells outside that list, with the in-game reason that they are too complicated (or maybe not important enough) for a martially-minded spellcaster to utilize. And the duskblade doesn't need a spellbook, so no worries on that aspect. I see him more as a sorcerer type, unlocking spells as he gains in power and building on the power he already has at his disposal.

Soumral, I am fine with you getting first dips, but there are two spells I would like to convert into formulae relatively soon (Invisiblity and Haste). so hopefully we can come to someform of arrangement.

There are 4 more which I would not mind in the long run but no rush on those.

By order of Khemet III several weeks back, ownership of the magical mask and anything else found in the Necropolis belongs to the party. To your knowledge, nobody can gainsay the decree of the Ruby Prince - not even Sebti nor Nakht. There are also no 'rules' about what may be taken, though the party thus far has been thoughtful about turning over historical records and the like.

I wasn't asking for the mask, showing that one to Sebti I am fully on board with. I was thinking about the jewels and the other sarcophagus in this room.

As a player it feels wrong to open them, but my character likely would suggest it.

While the mask seems powerful, Elliander will not claim it (unless nobody else wants it). I think The Biter might be jealous. I think the mask can be a resource to the team though. (Francis?)

@ Soumral, if we get to spend a whole week one trying to scribe spells from that book, I think it is fairt to assume that Rediz would hold it for about a day (12 hours) giving me a try on all of the 3rd levels spells as well as one or two minor ones.

@ GM: was there any language we came across on that adventure which felt like it was worth learning for my linguistics point?

@Loot: Rediz does like a few doses (5?) of the poison, but we can sell the rest. If I understand it correctly we get about 1000 gp/character, not a lot of money at this stage. I was hoping for a bag of holding, but that will have to wait for a while then.

Hmm... no suggestions for languages at this point. Obviously desert-based monsters would be a consideration.

Besides the money you looted, you have definitely gained favors and even a few rewards here and there for your efforts to save Wati from a terrible fate.

If anyone has a desire for a specific magic item you can't afford, let's have you give me the cost, how much you're willing to pay and either leave it to me to figure out if you pick up a favor or a reward to get the item OR you take a look at what you've done during the adventure (folks you might have rescued, other feats of daring that might have gained notice) and give me a quick narrative of how you're getting that discount or reward to purchase that item (or even get it for free!)

This will not only give you some fun RP to do while I'm prepping the next adventure, but might also get you a neat little item outside of your price range. Let's keep it reasonable though, probably no more than a few thousand gp or thereabouts. You doing it yourself with a write-up will get a better 'discount' than leaving it up to me!

@Rediz: Soumral is going to be clocking a whole bunch of hours copying spells from the book so go ahead and do yours first. I had to spend some time figuring it all out, Soumral's total costs will be 1,580 gp and she'll need 59 hours.

The good news about her taking almost everything from the spell book at once is it can be sold at the end, and should be worth quite a bit.

The diamond dust is a material component for Stoneskin. Each casting requires 250 gp worth, so it's enough for two castings. Soumral will keep it.

Sourmal can use the wand of enervation so she'll take it.

Elliander has some 110 pp already. With his cut of the loot for another 1000gp (Does that include a good price for the magic shield?), he has some 2000-2500gp.

*Amulet of Natural Armor +1, 2,000 gp, paying 1200gp ?
*Pearl of Power (1st), 1,000 gp, paying 500gp ?
*Bag of holding (1st), 2500gp, paying 1500gp ? +++
*Cracked Dusty Rose Prism (Ioun Stone), 500 gp paying 250gp ?

(+++ If money over, Elliander will help sponsor a Bag of holding for Rediz instead.)

I'll say once again, everyone should have a ranged weapon. We could have ended the last combat a minimum of 1 round earlier, possibly more, if we'd had them then.

Without bothering with freeing themselves from the obsidian both Eliander and Amenhep could have continued to attack. They both had Haste, so they could have attacked 3 times each over the two rounds they were stuck. Even mundane bows would have made a difference attacking a combined 12 times.

And we're only going to see more and more flying opponents going forward.
