Nic picks up a piece of candy, eyes the color, then pops it in his mouth. he sucks on it a few seconds.
perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
His lips pucker and he projectiles the hard candy out.

"H...HO...HOU...HOAWCK." <cough><cough> "My god son...what in the Asmodeus are you serving?

The hard candy plunks off of Alexandra's forehead.

Knowledge (Local) Syndicate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (13) + 8 = 21
"I guess if we play our cards right, we may have enough for it all" - Reknar chuckles - "And if we split it evenly, each one can do whatever he or she wants wit the respective share" - he nods at Thorin - "But first we need to start selling this" - then points to the pile of loot in the corner.
"So, we get back to Delilah and let her know what we found out - try to understand if she wants us to pursue this further. Not really in the mood to pick a fight with a group we do not know just for no reason" - he shrugs - "In the meantime we find a way to sell our findings, split it among us, and take it from there. What do you say?"

Has anyone tried identifying the scrolls? Do we need to roll Spellcraft, or..?
On a second note, we need to address the skull and spear - I have been carrying them just because I tend to be an active poster and etc. But they are not MINE, they belong to the group, and it isn't fair that I should keep all the 'cool items' :D So we need to decide who gets what. Ideas?
Nic "One-Ear" Rockborn
Nic nods his head up and down as Reknar talks about selling the loot but then he frowns. "I want t'fight the undead." He points his thumb towards his missing ear. "Ain't runnin' from destroying undead. The Syndicate must go."
Nic "One-Ear" Rockborn
Nic will spend some time and study the following items:
From gnome posse
2 scroll
spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (14) + 4 = 18
1 wand
spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22
and gnolls
4 scrolls
spellcraft: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22

Ive no need for skull or spear so no complaint from me :)
For a moment he took the opportunity to look at the dwarven cleric like he was offended, then he broke into a big smile.
"Not enough alcohol in my candies I suppose, or tobacco for that matter. I'll see what i can do. I agree with Nic, not that im particularly driven to mess with undead monsters but they certainly arent nice creatures and they dont eat candy so . . ."
Reknar

"Okok, no objections from me" - Reknar chuckles - "In any case we still need to double back and report to Delilah. Then we'll see what to do about the Syndicate. Deal?"
Alexandra Beatrix
Alex grumbles when the candy bounces off her head.
Sure she says to Reknar's suggestion.
No complaints here either.
Nic "One-Ear" Rockborn
Nic turns a chair around and straddles it, "So, th't skull yaks at ya. Let's see her." He motions to the table so it can be placed. Assuming Reknar put her on the table, Nic will study it. Periodically his bushy brows wiggle and he frowns. "Care fer a smoke?" the dwarf takes out a fresh cigar.

Delilah, your assistant's replacement was working for the Syndicate.
They were attempting to eliminate you to prevent you from taking their territory.

Bumping the game thread. Any response from either GM or Reknar?

Every time I tried to post, the site would hang, and then... Days offline...

"Don't mind if I do" - Reknar nods at Nic and chuckles, taking a cigar and lighting it - "Thought you'd never offer" - he adds with a long puff - "It doesn't really talk - I can hear it in my head see?"
MiniGM
yes Reknar that was on purpose
Delilah looks horrified at the mention of the Syndicate.
Oh god. Thank you. They have a habit of putting small businesses out of business "with extreme prejudice". They usually have small "cells" in various areas, so by killing the one, we are probably safe for a bit, until they figure out something happened. I suggest taking the trip and seeing what you can discover there.
Nic the skull grins at you from the jar
Reknar
MiniGm, sometime back you offered to put up a Google doc with some details for the game - is it too late to accept it now? ;)

We never actually got the name of the region we are in, or where we traveled to meet the undead, did we?
"Yeah... Nic is quite adamant on it, so I guess that is what we will do" - Reknar nods - "You should maybe hire some bodyguards - it is risky, but perhaps even riskier if you do not" - he adds.
MiniGM
yeah Ill make one for you Reknar
I don't think we ever did get a name for the region...so we shall pick one now! BADASSLANDIA!! no I kid...that is to the south...It is the Trenforth region
A good idea, perhaps I should also put out the word that I am holding back on the long distant trading...just as a smoke screen. What do you think?
Reknar
"Hmmmm, trade and commerce really are not my expertise but that sounds like a solid idea" - Reknar nods, taking another puff from the cigar Nic offered him.
LOL
'He is trying to communicate with you - and why didn't you tell me your name?'
Thorin O'Connel

"Well then, if there is one thing i know how to do its spin a tale or two. An hour or two about the town and this Syndicate will be following falsehoods forever."
He nodded to himself in sastisfaction. He certainly sounded confident in his abilities to lead them astray at least.
"I bet the inn has their ears about, if not there is there a general store about town here?"
MiniGM
Delilah looks at Thorin expectantly, she is deeply listening to your plan, and DM is curious about your plan...I'm game for it, tell me how you wanna do it
Thorin O'Connel

"Just you know. Hit up the trading places, complain about you stopping your long distance trading. We were perspective partners and now we are pissed that the deal went south. Pulls attention from you, puts it on us. I have a cart, may need to upgrade that, then we move elsewhere.
Someone else can put out a different rumor, like your selling your business now for personal reasons or somthing. they may swoop in and try to buy it up cheep. gives us possible leads that sort of thing.
Reknar
"Ok, I guess we can leave the commercial strategy up to you, and I'm sure Thorin wouldn't mind helping?" - Reknar nods at Delilah and Thorin both.
"From our end, and since Nic is adamant on it, we will be travelling again, once we've done some buying and selling" - he adds, then turns to Delilah again - "By the way, would you direct us to someone who would be interested in a fair deal over some second hand adventuring gear, weapons and armor? We have some stuff to sell from our travels"
MiniGM
Delilah gives Reknar some names and shops to hit up-you will be able to get the standard rates.
Thorin, we will assume that you do that, go ahead and make me some rolls. You can. Use whatever stat you like as long as you justify it.
You can assume all your prep goes smoothly
We will just wait to see what Thorin comes up with then we will advance a few days
How are you traveling? Foot or getting horses to go w the wagon? Remember you have Delilah's merch

"Right then, off I go. Dont suppose you want to come along as my lovely assistant Alex? no... are you.. no no its probably best if you dont you are right."
He began adjusting the way his shirt set on himself for a moment brushing off imaginary dust. he made his way to his cart. Adjusting previously made and stored wares inside while also humming to himself. Some time was spent mussing his hair just so before he gathered his mule, Charlie and moved out with his mission.
His first stop was of course the nearest general store, to 'procure' supplies for his operation and start the rumour mill.
"Greeting greetings, I am The esteemed Thorin O'Connel owner of course of O'Connel's Candies. Have I got the most amazing deal for you. Unlike that foolish Delilah woman I am sure you have business vision are not afraid to make a killing on my candies!"
He began chatting up the store owner's daughter/wife/ well actually owner in that order.

Nic follows along letting the others sell the goods. He happily takes his cut and promptly gives 100 gp in tithe to his church. the remaining loot that he has he will look around for goods.
DM can you remind us how much we receive for helping Delilah? I have to figure out what he wants for equipment.
Reknar
----
Reknar is in his environment when moving around the village, bartering to sell the equipment, stopping for a drink here and a chat there - he gets all the gear sold, and returns to his companions with their share.
"Well boys and girl" - he smiles widely, placing the individual shares on the table - "Here's the haul!" - then goes for a separate pack.
"And a little something something from me to each of you" - producing a cigar holder for Nic made of carved solid mahogany with a reinforced leather cover, an old sweets cookbook for Thorin with a few tips on how to cook 'unsual' candy, and a brand new starknife scabbard for Alex, reinforced and with her initials 'AB' carved onto its side - "Found this while buying and selling stuff, and remembered you lot" - he winks.
MiniGM, let me know the costs, and I'll just deduct it from my cut ;)
Also, do I find someone to id the gem?
MiniGM
. Yes you find someone it costs 10 gp and you learn it is a thunderstone that has the added bonus of dealing 1d6 fire damage. Call it another 15 gold for the gifts cause that is sick

As Thorin talks the proprietor fowns. never heard of you. Have any samples?
"Wouldnt be much of a sale if I didnt now would it? Here try one of my sour orc balls!"
He began handing the propriertor one of the sour candies.

"Ive got some Chocodrops too, they are chocolate covered candied blueberries. Very sweet why almost too sweet."
Creation DC was a 15
"Now with tastes like those its strange that miss Delilah turned away our deal. Something about not being willing to expand at the moment. Why it looked like she was thinking about getting out of town. At least it looked she was packing."
He added like it was a conversation and not at all the rumor he wanted started.
Nic "One-Ear" Rockborn
Nic nods approvingly, then sniffs the wooded case. The tip of his tongue licks the wood and leather, "Excellent wood and craftsmanship. Thanks." He opens it and begins to stuff it with his cigars, but not before offering stogie treat t0 everyone.
MiniGM
Their faces turn at the orc balls name...but they hesitantly try them, These are good...but I can't sell them with that name. We are a family establishment. The chocodrops, they try as well. [b]Good, but I have plenty of things like these.

"No need to thank me - hope it is to your taste" - Reknar nods, than changes the subject - "What now Nic - we just travel back from where we came from, and look for the Syndicate?"

Ugh oh man so close. oh well.
"I will tell you what my friend, I will make 2 batches of the sour candies for you, thats 48 peices for 5 gold, I will even restock my supplies from your store. If you toss in another 5 gold, i'll leave you the recipe for the candies. What do you say eh?"
He began already mentally trying to figure out how to alter his pitch at the next business. It seemed like he was too... obtuse here.
Reknar
'Have it your way then'
"Nic, the thing in the jar seems not to like you" - Reknar shrugs - "Says it doesn't wanna talk to you. Can't really blame him can we?!" - he claps the dwarf hard on the shoulder and laughs.
Nic "One-Ear" Rockborn
Nic shrugs, "Suit yerself...I'm a guud conversationalist." He then looks at Reknar and says, "You should ask her if my healin' energies will hurt her, given her state. If so, well she needs to be put away from my channels."

Just waiting on Thorin to finish his selling and finish his rumor spreading. If he doesn't get back to it by tonight we will just move on in the morning, and call it good. We have decent momentum I don't want to break it!

He moved next to the tavern, already prepping his chocodrops for waitress consumption and flirting. A quick drink at the bar, a mention of failed dealings in business trips before he took a seat and ordered food. Light flirting for the waitstaff, mention of his candy empire, and how it wouldnt be traveling with miss Deliliah's trading company because it wasnt going to be traveling any time soon because she was thinking of selling everything off led to another ordering of drinks....and telling the waitstaff how incredibly good looking they were.
diplomacy of spreading lies and telling rumours: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (20) + 9 = 29
Four drinks into it he would start to plan his exit strategy. No sense in overworking the crowd. Besides he had candy to cook up for some gold.
