Nic takes a few steps back and to the side. "'ave at it, jiggle and do that twisty thing." He shakes his hand to demonstrate his desire. "'nough doors and locks already." As if the Candymaker controls how many doors and locks they've encountered.

Reknar |

Reknar grabs the opportunity to listen at the door before Nic begins his 'magic'.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (16) + 1 = 17

Nic "One-Ear" Rockborn |

Just so everyone is on the same page, Nic was referrign to the Candymaker, Thorin, picking the lock.
The dwarf chomps down on his cigar butt. "You hear anything? Candymak'r go ahead jiggle the lock and git us through that door."

Reknar |

"They are going to jump us" - he whispers to the others - "Let's do this by the numbers. You and me" - he nods at Galen - "We push the door open from the sides in case of arrow fire, then we plow inside, forcing the way with steel. I will be right on your heels, like a tick - deal?"

"Are we ready to settle up with these varlets?" asks Galen making sure everyone is good to go. When it appears they are all ready, he straps on his shield, and draws his longsword. Stepping to the door, he nods once and then pushes the door open, rushing through shouting a war-cry "For Iomedae! For victory!"

initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
"For King and uh... Candy!"
He followed suit trying to bellow out some form of war cry or the like. He heroically waited for the well armored warriors to well get through the doorway.

Galen stops cold as the door slams into something unyielding on the other side. Unsure of what to do next the cavalier hesitates while others around him do not.
Initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 11
Guess I am in a holding pattern until the ambushers act. At least, perhaps the door will give some cover if it's open less than a foot.

Nic "One-Ear" Rockborn |

initiative: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
The dwarf cleric grips his morningstar. "Iomedae shine your burning light and grant us the strength to spread your glory!" He touches Galen back and a holy surge fill the cavalier.
Battle rage for one round a touched ally gains +1 melee damage.

Reknar |

Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
"Gods damn this!" - Reknar roars, scolding himself for not having anticipated this - "Push!"
STR: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (12) + 3 = 15

MiniGM |

Reknar throws his back into it and the barrier slides and the door is open enough for people to go through single file. However the pushed over table and boxes are still there so it will take a climb 10 or Acro 15 to cross it in a single move action. If you want to spend a full round action you can clamber over
1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15 init for alex
Waiting on Alex and Thoren to act. Then the baddies then the rest of you

He muttered as Reknar opened the pathway. This was probably going to hurt... As soon as the gap opened he darted through

Alex manages to get the door a bit wider, not enough to get two people in the doorway, but it is something
Thorin leaps over the barricade and finds him self somewhat surrounded, by 3 rough and tumble types with crossbows of their own, and a short gnome in robes with wiggly fingers. All of them are within 30 feet
He quickly looses a bolt at the nearest thug, it buries itself deeply in his thigh, as he stares at the candy man who completely surprised him.

MiniGM |

The wounded thug pulls out a flask and downs it
1d8 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 and the blood flow slows
The other two loose at Thorin

Thorin takes a bolt in the shoulder and another just above the ribs
2d10 ⇒ (6, 2) = 8 damage. Thorin wobbles
Meanwhile the gnome finishes his wiggling and points at Reknar and says Run away strong man! Reknar immediately has images of the horrors of the caves where his unit was slaughtered. DC 13 will of you are frightened for 1d4 ⇒ 1 rounds. make the save and you are shaken for 1 round
EVERYONE WITH INIT BELOW 15 CAN ACT ONCE THEY ARE DONE IT WILL BE TOP OF ROUND AGAIN

Seeing the brave candy-man leap over the barricades and then get peppered with bolts, Galen roars "Fall, miscreants!" and leaps into action. Slamming his shield against the door, the young hero pushes for all his might, but his feet slip on the floor, and his leverage doesn't allow much movement of the stuck portal.
STR check on door: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Facepalm...

![]() |

not sure why everyone is spending time on the door. You can get through. There is just a load of crap on the other side. HIGHLY recommend someone else get over there or you will be looking for someone else to make you candy
The prior instruction said, I thought, that Escape Artist or the like was required. In full armor, that's not a viable option for Galen, nor is acrobatics. Leaves only a STR check. If te door is wide enough for him to enter and attack a bad guy, that wasn't clear (to me at least). If so, and with your permission, I will retcon my action.

Nic "One-Ear" Rockborn |

Nic pushes through joining Thorin in the assault. Not wanting to heal the enemy he converts one of his remaining spells to cure light wound and touches the candy maker.

Seeing Thorin leap over the barrier, and unable to complete such a dexterous move himself, Galen sets to take the long slow way over. Moving carefully and sure-footedly, he is able to clamber to the other side, ready for the onslaught from the bandits.
Chose the full-round climb over upon retcon. Sorry fro the confusion earlier.

Reknar |

We don't have a map, right? I don't want to risk any AoOs, but I would want to get to Nic as he heals Thorin, and first establish a safety perimeter around them with the longspear.
"You've chosen the wrong orc to try and scare away fool!" - Reknar grunts at the caster, shrugging the spell away, and clambering over the debris to get at Nic and Thorin.
"Now we're in, it is payback time!" - he roars.

I think I am the poked one - apologies guys. Very, very busy and tiring week. Yesterday I just had some wine and crashed.
Taking a few steps forward, Reknar goes for the caster - "Let's see how tough you are if not behind closed doors"
Longspear: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
Damage if it hits: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
If I can't get to the caster, I'll settle for the closest opponent.

![]() |

I was dealing with personal issues, sorry for the delay as well
With the others over the wall finally he knelt low and began the arduos process of reloading his crossbow.
Dropping prone and reloading. Take those penalties to hit (ranged) you big bad guy jerks!

Nic "One-Ear" Rockborn |

"I'm comin', legs are a bit short'r but when I get goin' I'm like a rock movin' down hill. I'm gonna smash and bash, and stomp you guud." The dwarf just roars in a nearly incomprehensible babble towards the enemies. "You better wish Iomedae holds my hand back cause my morning star is blazing with glorious justice waiting to release your from your sin. Gosh it's been a guud long time since I bashed the last bandit's skull in....you know for justice that is."
He's not really trying to intimidate, just draw attention and plant the seed that he just may be a little crazy.

All good!
Just confirming Reknar, are you using your own longspear or that magical regular spear that you all found?

Reknar |

Done!
If it was mine, it could not be thrown I think - can a longspear be thrown? :O
In any case, I'll use the new one :D

The casts steps back and sweeps his arm at Reknar and a gout of flame flies out

The sole thug who had not fired his crossbow does so now, at Reknar as well

MiniGM, I actually said I was using the new spear... :(
It is cool that I hit though ;)

"Ohhhhhhhh...its my turn to bash someone lawless skull in." The dwarf chuckles. If there is anyone near Thorin, Nik will come to his defense. If not, he will move assist to Galen.
