Thorin takes a look see. What are you talking about. It is not remotely trapped...it does sound like there is a swamp or something on the other side of the door though. Nic, I think I have some coin. It's locked, I'll open it later.
Reknar
Actually... I always thought opening the door should be the 'meat's' job. Rogue checks > Tank opens. But we don't have a tank, so....
The 'sgt' grunts at Thorin - "Best be right about this kid" - and opens the door slowly.
Reknar
'What the heck?! You are rooting against us?!
Now is when not having a full arcane caster is going to hurt...
Reknar tries to slam the door shut.
STR?: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

'Keep at it why don't you? I can still drop you at the very bottom of a latrine - how long do you think you would stay there until someone else found you?'
"I would want to take a look at the frog room" - Reknar moves to the table to check the vials himself.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (14) + 5 = 19
"Perhaps lure them here into a clear area, then dump and light the cooking oil on them? Then you would have a decent lunch Nic" - he chuckles.
Nic "One-Ear" Rockborn
Nic nods enthusiastically. "Sounds like a plan."
"Hey, why don't we put the table in it's side, Thorin can open the door and Reknar and me can slide the table in front of the door. We can look inside but keep most the frogs out."
Thorin O'Connel
|
" If we are careful I can just sit behind the table with my crossbow and pick them off."
He paused and double checked to make sure his crossbow was loaded and ready.
"Im getting ideas for candy frogs already. Let me know when you guys are ready."
He began moving torwards the door ready to open the door.
Reknar
"Someone can get a torch or some other fire going? So we can ignite the contents in case this is nothing like it says in the labels?" - Reknar inquires, as they make preparations.
Alex still with us? She could be useful here. also wanted a 4th one to stand watch... How many are we exactly at the moment?
Nic "One-Ear" Rockborn
Seems like we have 3 active players.
Yep, lets cook the lil' froggy legs." There's a sudden rumble from Nic's stomach and anyone looking his way will see a little bit of drool on his beard. He begins to light a torch and he pulls out several pints of oil.
Nic "One-Ear" Rockborn
Nope, planning to toss them in the room once the door is opened and the table side across the opening. I was thinking that will give us a moment in time to see the swarm and make some quick decisions. the pints of oil is just to prepare and to add some flavor.
Reknar
If door has hinges on the left, we keep the table against the wall to the right of it, and slide it in front as it opens.
Reknar
Just don't heckle us when things turn for the wrong...
Reknar nods at Thorin, then at Nic to confirm if he has the torch ready, and lobs some pints of oil (or whatever it is) at the frogs.

The vial hits the ground in the middle of the frogs and explodes in a burst of fire
1d6 ⇒ 2
Many of the frogs char and stop moving, but the rest move on, and bound up and over the table, pound on Nic who takes 1d6 ⇒ 3 damage and a DC 11 will save to not be nauseated, as the biting and licking is really gross feeling
Go It would appear there are signigicantly less frogs, but still plenty, and many are still burning

I'm back
Nic pushes the table across the opening but the frogs quickly swarm him. Now this would be the time to have a bite attack. Nic tosses the torch inot the room. "OIL...THROW OIL."
Thorin O'Connel

Backing slightly away from the door, oil and frog mess The intrepid candy maker pulls out his walking quarterstaff and plays pickup game of frog baseball on any of the ugly creatures that get close.

Nic you realize the frogs are on you right?
A huge smoke ring billows from the cleric's stubby cigar, "Yeh, jus toss the oil around me. I can put meself out with the miracle's grant t'me by holiest of dieties...Iomedae."
Sure toss the oil near me. I'll create water to put myself out.

A splash weapon is a ranged weapon that breaks on impact, splashing or scattering its contents over its target and nearby creatures or objects. To attack with a splash weapon, make a ranged touch attack against the target. Thrown splash weapons require no weapon proficiency, so you don’t take the –4 nonproficiency penalty. A hit deals direct hit damage to the target, and splash damage to all creatures within 5 feet of the target. If the target is Large or larger, you choose one of its squares and the splash damage affects creatures within 5 feet of that square. Splash weapons cannot deal precision-based damage (such as the damage from the rogue’s sneak attack class feature).
You can instead target a specific grid intersection. Treat this as a ranged attack against AC 5. However, if you target a grid intersection, creatures in all adjacent squares are dealt the splash damage, and the direct hit damage is not dealt to any creature. You can’t target a grid intersection occupied by a creature, such as a Large or larger creature; in this case, you’re aiming at the creature.
If you miss the target (whether aiming at a creature or a grid intersection), roll 1d8. This determines the misdirection of the throw, with 1 falling short (off-target in a straight line toward the thrower), and 2 through 8 rotating around the target creature or grid intersection in a clockwise direction. Then, count a number of squares in the indicated direction equal to the range increment of the throw. After you determine where the weapon landed, it deals splash damage to all creatures in that square and in all adjacent squares.
