As the beam of morning sunlight falls upon the eyes of the pale, bearded man's corpse, the white skin begins to blacken and the eyes snap open! An instant later, an unnatural shadow encompasses the sarcophagus in a 20-foot radius! A hiss comes from the lips of the bearded figure, and it bears long, pointed fangs!

A globe of darkness, some 40 feet in diameter, suddenly obscures the cart, the oxen, and the driver, who gasps in surprise from within the unnatural globe of shadow....

Initiative, please!

Paddy!

Alphonse!

TBD: Hisao! Nacht!

Ooh! Ooh! Ooh!

The four riders all don goggles and spur their horses to surround Paddy!

Move action to pull their goggles over their eyes, move action to ride into melee range with Paddy, enclosing him in a semicircle against the back of the cart.... Two riders flanks Paddy, two block his escape.... Nacht is within a 5-ft shift on the cart to the north most rider, or a10 ft move to any of the other riders or the driver.... Alphonse and Tyr are both 50 feet from the nearest two riders (those blocking Paddy's escape), and Hisao is 60 feet from the same two riders....

The driver pulls a pair of goggles into place over his eyes, then picks up a heavy crossbow from the seat beside him!

Move actions both....

The pallid, gaunt, bearded man rises up from the sarcophagus with uncanny grace....

Nacht still gets an AoO unless he is flat-footed, in which case he only gets AoO if he also has the Combat Reflexes feat....

They actually changed it now, so influence... isnt all that bad especially now that it is a minor thing. That was sorta the point with Nacht in the first place however, to be changed slightly based on interactions and influence. I might see if I can even get old trance instead of all this Haunt stuff.. he will never use and makes no sense for him. The archetypes they have also dont work for him.

I don't know what the playtest version was like but it's pretty bad for some. Like having to deal with only every using Nonlethal, or having a reduced Caster Level. -2 Initiative is always bad too.

Master Edward Caldwell was a Freemason who installed wells for villages in southern England. He was successful and gained an estate near Greenwich from Humphrey Lancaster, Duke of Gloucester.... In life, he had an eccentric taste for the blood of virgins, believing it instilled youth and vigor....

To be fair it only looks that way because 90% of the time he is justified in whatever he did... and even then he generally doesnt get caught or turned out to be somewhat right even though he is quite terrible. He also really hates undead.

As the strike of Keenstar came close to tearing undead flesh, Nacht seems to resonate. His world stops and he sees the words, 'Kill, Murder, Strike, Flay, Do not let this pass' A scene plays out in his mind. They were starting to get... familiar. A dark .. warehouse? Yes that is what these being used to hold large quantities of things. Four beings around him, warily he watched them as the lead being spoke, ' While we have enjoyed your service, monsieur and are forever grateful. It seems we have come to no longer require you presence. All of the undesirables have been... disposed and I am a very thorough individual. So I must now bid our partnership adieu, Please dont think badly of me. ' The sound of a latch being pulled, a blade leaving its sheathe. Nacht could feel the being he was.. smiling. ' Alle schreien, so überrascht, am Ende. Unterhalte mich. ' His blade was already at the being's neck.

His mind returned to this time. Keenstar had opened a path for the sawtooth Sabre.. The undead dodging.. and by tapping into some bloodlust he held back... the blade returned with a Stab rather than a slash.

Surge on Keenstar: 1d6 ⇒ 2

German:
' They all scream, so surprised in the end. Entertain me. '

I prefer to think of it as: Nacht gets us into deep XP -- which is friggen great (as long as he doesn't hurt our roleplay chances with non-monsters)!

Yes, Paddy can flank with Nacht (north most rider, right in front of Paddy).... Also, the cart takes up a 10-ft square and is about 5 feet high, and a character moving on top of it would be on difficult terrain....
