Alphonse knows that magical silver weapons are normally required to harm vampires.... But he also knows that I Am will grant him the power to smite the undead in spite of a lack of silver in Foereaper, for this thing is an abomination, anathema to God....
Foereaper carves a deep, ruddy cleft in the vampire's chest! It's scream sounds like a chorus of devil-tortured victims screaming in Hell....

The fourth swings at Paddy's head 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16, but the nimble tiefling bends backwards, avoiding the blade....

Ok, got a question. Are all the guardsmen on horses? if so, can i possibly cut the belts on the saddles to eliminate the riders? that way i don't have to kill them. and second, can i hit 2 i thesame round if i use my off hand attack also?

Sure, kinda, its risky considering they are guards.. who ride horses.. they very well could be skilled riders who dont need the saddles anyway. However I understand there isnt much you can do that doesnt involve hurting them much. Also I assume Iommi said whatever in English?

Yes, all four guardsmen are mounted on warhorses.... Yes, you can attempt to sunder a saddle strap.... And because sunder attempts are normally a standard action, I'll allow Paddy to attempt to sunder two straps in one round if he takes an additional -4 attack penalty in addition to normal two-weapon fighting penalties....

Nacht feels the burning mental chains of the vampire jam into his arms, legs and very body as his will fights for control of his form. The pieces fall into the sarcophagus with a dry, rattling sound, drowned out by the ringing death-shriek that sounds like a pack of wolves howling at the moon....or a pack of ghouls howling for flesh....
The vampire is defeated.... But not yet permanently destroyed....

Reacting to the vampire fallng, Paddy reaches into his quiver and takes out an arrow. he quickly snaps the arrowhead off and jabs the shaft into the heart of the vampire.

The workmen climb down from their scaffolds on the wall they are building and hurry over to have a look at the burning remnants of Master Caldwell, the vampire that had plagued them in their sleep these past few months....
The foreman bows before The Lusty Fools and speaks: Ye have done a great deed here, sires! This was Master Edward Caldwell, who in life was not much less evil than he was in death.... 'Tis said he paid a high price for the blood of virgin maids to drink and bathe in when he was alive.... He died just a few moons beyond a year gone now, and had begun to trouble the living again on the anniversary of his death, a few moons ago! More than a few of our daughters have fallen ill after waking with much of their blood drained through bite marks on their necks these past three moons.... Ye have earned our eternal thanks and friendship for ridding us of this cruel vampire! Pray tell, what do ye call yourselves, that we may sing your praises?

"There is no harm done. Where black magic like that is involved, sometimes even strong men cannot stand against it." Alphonse says, looking a bit pale and wheezing a bit.

These men are largely from Greenwich, London, Canterbury, or small homesteads along the Thames in the local vicinity, and are all in the employ of Duke Humphrey, as of the last year or so. They have been employed to construct a wall around Greenwich Park, an area of Greenwich village having green, wooded meadows and ponds, irrigated by the meandering Thames River. They have also been promised more work in the future raising a great palace that will be known as Placentia, or Bella Court, in which Duke Humphrey will take up residence. Currently, the Duke resides in Greenwich Manor, a stately home on the south bank of the Thames where the river loops southward.
Regarding Master Caldwell, he was a freeman, a Freemason, granted his status by King Henry V, Duke Humphrey's brother, for his service installing wells throughout London, Greenwich, and hereabouts. While he lived, he was notable for two things: digging good wells, and a taste for virgin blood, which he procured at great cost from rather shady accomplices, or from the desperately poor who were willing to spill a portion of their young daughters' blood in exchange for silver and gold. Master Caldwell contracted a wasting disease in the winter of 1428, and died of it soon after. He was buried in the churchyard at Greenwich village and rose one year later as a vampire, whereupon he began to prey on the young virgin maidens of Greenwich village and the surrounding countryside.
The driver, Archibald Carter, and the four men-at-arms, fell under his dominion over the last several months, and have been his unwilling servants ever since. They were bringing his coffin (and the vampire himself, obviously), along with some of his possessions (loaded into the cart around the coffin) to London, where he was to be interred in Westminster Abbey, and would have a much greater population of virgins to prey upon, but the timely intervention of The Lusty Fools has prevented further depredations by the vampire.
English peasant
The workmen are able to direct The Lusty Fools to Greenwich Manor, where Duke Humphrey resides, or the site of the planned palace, where he can often be found planning details of the architecture with his crew of hired architects, masons, and carpenters. They can also direct the party to a local tavern on The Isle of Dogs (the area of Greenwich village north of the River Thames, within the southward loop of the river) called The Wolfhound's Den.
Michael Johnson 66
The cargo in the cart includes several possessions of Master Caldwell's, which the men-at-arms and driver readily surrender to The Lusty Fools as a reward for freeing them from the vampire's bondage:
An armoire containing five noble outfits worth 100 gold pounds each;
A gold-plated and bejeweled coffer worth 1,000 gold pounds containing rare fragrant smoking herbs and incense worth a total of 500 gold pounds;
A mahogany divan with red velvet cushions worth 250 gold pounds;
An iron-bound chest, locked with a sturdy iron lock (the key is found among the bones and ashes in the sarcophagus) containing 500 gold pounds, 1,000 copper pences, and 6 ceramic urns sealed with beeswax containing the partially-coagulated blood of virgin women;
A leather case containing a set of masterwork masonry tools worth 100 gold pounds.
Paddy
I wouldn't be too concerned over your actions while dominated by the beast. Maybe a trip to the church to ask for absolution would help assuage your soul? Paddy says to the men.
Hey Mr. GM type person....how much land is near that inn we have? is it farmable/suitable for homesteading?
Michael Johnson 66
What did the Vamp have on him?
Amid the charred bones of the vampire, Nacht sees scraps of burnt clothing (noble outfit, ruined), a gold necklace with bloodstone pendant worth 800 gp, and a gold signet ring of the Caldwell family worth 25 gp....
