Guys do we plan on doing anything in particular tomorrow? We can do Shark's mission but I'm just thinking ahead to spell lists and so on.

I'll probably take Akashic Communion, but I'd probably need people to let me know what they want me to spy (My full list is on page 11).

Kilarra, I saved the body of the sister only because I can take the spell Assume Appearance and therefore by the sister. I don't know how much of a good idea this is (actual Red Mantis will probably know its fake, non Red Mantis NPC's will probably be intimidated) but I wanted the option since all other disguise spells at this level are short duration and I stand out as an aasimar. We could probably use Assume Disguise to track down that slave trader that letter mentioned but I dont know how worthwhile that is.

I can also cast Speak with Dead, in case there was anything we wanted to ask Rix anything.

Speak with Dead, Assume Appearance, and Akashic Communion are all 3rd level spells and I would prefer not preparing anything that I don't need to.

The sailors want to go home which seems reasonable. I'm hoping if we get on the good side of Shark he can make that happen. This suggests we do want to do his mission. Questioning Rix could be useful as could the sister for that matter.

One thing that's a bit disquieting, I think the sister must have been bluffing when she said she had been expecting us. I can believe she was expecting something due to sounds of combat and with good stealth rolls Talivar's preference for cold spells could have been observed.

I find it hard to believe they know it's us yet because we haven't been squished like bugs. The Mantis could easily do that and probably would if they knew, preferably in a very public and humiliating way.

Speak with Dead would never work on the sister - its out of the question.

I'm also inclined to believe they do know we are in town - and that its just pure arrogance. Its why Talia doesn't want to rock the boat too much (ie avoid making direct trouble for the Mantis) building up our stores of information (and levels / xp) before then striking against them in a sudden strike.

Thats just her opinion tho - I'm sure others have a different tactic in mind.

Now that we're out of the hospice, I'd like to go back and figure out what happened there in between the fight with the Mantis and the bone golem. We had a lot of plans, but then it was pointed out that there was a few rooms left unexplored. Then, boom, we were all in combat.

One of the tasks was to weigh down the bodies and dump them in the canal. I had hoped we could steal all their ledgers and notes (though I didn't mention it at the time). The other big undecided thing was what we did the surviving sister. Uruelleth was not in favor of killing her, but also not really okay with just letting her go. The way I see it, either she got loose from the gurney while we were downstairs, we took her with us, or Talia gave her a forced tour of the basement to try to disillusion her. (I prefer the latter, but it depends on how much time elapsed between the two fights.)

So, thoughts? GM, is any of this feasible, or are you thinking we went from fight to fight with almost no time in between (though we had a lot of discussion).

You could have had at least a few minutes between fights. The reinforcements were relatively close, though, so you wouldn’t have had enough time to explain everything in the basement before needing to leave. If you want to say you took Sister Elena with you, I’m fine with that. If that’s the case, you’ll also need to decide what you’re going to do with her when you get back to the Murdered Manticore.

In regards to paperwork - Kilarra could have taken a minute to scoop a bunch of the paperwork into the group's back of holding, if Zek doesn't object. It would have all been tossed in without regard for what it was, though, so who knows if we got anything useful.

In regards to the Sister Elena - I'm not alright with bringing her back with us, but otherwise you can choose what you'd prefer to do with her. I'd prefer leaving her behind tied to the gurney. As Talia suggested, she can take over the Hospice and hopefully do some good.

@ Talia - Definitely prep speak with dead for interviewing Rix, please. He'll get our bag of holding filled with nastiness if we let him get old in there. We can bury him or dump him at sea once you're done with him, which would free up more space for keeping another body for you to steal the identity of, if you want, or just for carrying gear. In regards to Assumed Appearance: you only need the body once, right? Then we would dispose of it? Or are you planning on keeping it fresh with gentle repose so you could assume her form again in the future?

To do tomorrow:
- I agree with Talivar. We should help these sailors get on a ship home if they want.
- If we were allowed to collect the paperwork from the Hospice, than one or two of us should look through it (Talia maybe?)
- question Rix's corpse, then dispose of his body (bury? dump at sea?)
- let Talia work her mojo on Sister Maeri's corpse and then do whatever's necessary with the body afterwards
- sell some of the gear, and figure out what that unidentified wand does

I think we should plan on doing the errand for Shark tomorrow

One last question, guys: Who wants Sister Maeri's Ring of Protection +2? I know I asked already, but no one claimed it yet, and someone should really use it.

I'll probably preserve it with Gentle Repose so I can use it in future. Its unlikely to be useful me transforming now (unless we have a specific plan with my disguise in mind) so preserving it in preparation would be best.

I also don't really want Elena with us. We probably could have threatened her to keep quiet and left her at the hospice so that she could continue healing the poor now that we crushed the slavery angle.

We searched all the rooms Rue, as far as I'm aware, so I dont think we missed anything.

Are you wanting to go to Sharkfin Island the day after your time at the Hospice or the day after that?

You'll also need to decide how exactly you plan on traveling to Sharkfin Island. You can use the boats to physically get there, but the boats are currently in a hidden harbor off of Ilizmagorti's main harbor, so it'll probably look weird for you to just paddle them out of Ilizmagorti's harbor in plain sight.

I'm about to work on a gameplay update, but exactly how your day goes is most definitely up to y'all.

Talivar's harebrained scheme is to use silent image to disguise the dinghies as a guild sanctioned boat that won't seem out of place. The spell has duration: concentration so it could be kept up for some time. Problems with this:

1. The boats we stole may not be amazingly seaworthy - probably fine if the weather is calm.
2. Talivar needs to know what the boat should look like (solved by visiting the docks)
3. If we're not careful the time of sailing could be suspicious.
4. Something might break Talivar's concentration too soon.

Going at night might help with sneaking out but that makes navigation harder. Sailing in the day is obviously safer sailing but there's more risk of being spotted.

Anyone got a better idea?

Correct me if I'm wrong (or this game is playing it differently), but I don't think we're in danger if we carry around sawtooth sabres. Based on the Inner Sea World Guide, the Red Mantis don't restrict the use of the sawtooth sabre, seeing it as an advantage if more people use it than just their order.

Just asking, since we'll probably soon be getting a lot of treasure in the forms of magical sawtooth sabres, and as Kilarra said, we might need them to go undercover.

You are correct, Uruelleth. While I do have to fill in quite a few details on my own, I try to be accurate to what Paizo has published about them. As such, wearing sawtooth sabres around wouldn't be an issue. If you try to sell a bunch at once, though, people might wonder where you got them from.

Someone might have mentioned that as one point or another, Kilarra. >.> Of course, someone mentioning that and you being crazy are not mutually exclusive possibilities. : P

I'll mention the wand in my next gameplay post. At the very least, Talia was able to identify it.

We have yet to decide how to get to the island for Shark's mission. That's our main decision to make.

Talia had a series of missions from which we learned tons of stuff including details that boats need to be guild registered. Talivar suggested using illusions to disguise the dinghies we stole as a larger guild sanctioned boat but nobody responded. Shark suggested that was risky due to unpredictable weather thanks to the Eye of Abagado.

Talia tried to talking to the high priest of Besmara hoping for an ally but I think she mostly succeeded in scaring him.

Well, it seems like Shark/Zek is giving us a hint that maybe we want to check out alternatives to going out in the little rowboats. Uruelleth, however, isn't really one to pick up on Shark's hint.

I'm up for an alternative, but I don't see one that's not going to add more delay.

If you need to delay the mission, you still have the better part of a week. I'm perfectly fine with you delaying the mission (if you want to), just so long as you're doing something else. If that means trying to steal/borrow/beg a ship from someone else, that's fine with me. Just don't want us to get stuck twiddling our thumbs. : )

As for boats, I'm fine going out in our rickety dinghies. In comparison to accepting this suicide mission to kill a god, riding in crappy boats is WAY down there on the list of most dangerous things she's done.
