I believe that FAQ settles it, Talia. Thank you! So it is an exception, but you’re correct, Uruelleth, the second diagonal can be used for attacks and flanking.

As I mentioned, it won’t make a difference this time as Vorya acted first, but it could definitely matter in the future. I suppose that clarification does make sense, though I could see it working either way.

I’ve been doing this wrong, so I’m glad to learn how it properly works. It also makes reach weapons a lot more attractive. With this clarification, I guess that means creatures with 15 ft reach threaten the third diagonal?

Nice shot, Vorya! By the way, glaives are x3 crit weapons, unless you have some other polearm that you're calling a glaive.

I have some spells that might allow us to survive the stampede. Well lets face it, if there isn't a spell on the wizard / sorc / shaman list of a level 1-4 that won't help, I'll be super surprised.

I'm going to say no. The simplest interpretation of the feat is probably that those you communicate with have to be conscious.

GM what would happen if Vorya cast Silence (the spell) on himself?
Could he still communicate with us freely with his telepathic feat?

I would say so, yes, since Silence seems to just prevent verbal/audible communication. Telepathic/purely mental abilities should still function in the area of the spell. But again, the ability wouldn't work entirely in this situation since two of you were unconscious when he wanted to send a message.

Yup, I was just thinking about for future combats, Vorya being one of the only people that could Silence himself, ruin any spellcaster just by being in close proximity to them and be largely immune to the downsides.

Uruelleth, keep in mind Talia'a tentacles if you decide to charge. With her Black Tentacles roll for this turn, you and Vorya would get grappled charging through them unless you have some other means to avoid them.

Absolutely, Kilarra. I just deleted most of them, so hopefully that'll speed up your loading time. I deleted a couple of the older monster info slides as well, so let me know if that one also gets too slow. I have a separate GM stuff set of slides, so I still have them if we end up needing them again.

Re scouting, Talivar has a few potentially useful spells: invisibility, silent image, gaseous form. Those don't last terribly long mind you so it's probably best to rely on stealth skill.

GM does the spell Voluminous Vocabulary allow Talia to read the language of that book I saw in my vision.

The spell only allows me to understand languages not codes, and the vision mentioned that it was in a language. Just checking if its worth memorizing.

You really want to know what that page said, huh?

Well, Voluminous Vocabulary would let you understand the language and read the book... if you had access to it. You wouldn't be able to use Voluminous Vocabulary to understand the page while in the vision, though, which I think is what you're asking. For one thing, you would need to see the words for Voluminous Vocabulary to begin working. For another, Akashic Communion, as I understand it, requires your full attention/concentration (hence the 'If you lag, discuss the answers, or go off to do anything else, the spell ends' part of the spell). So no, you wouldn't be able to use it to read the book from your vision. If you theoretically get your hands on a copy at some point, then you could definitely use the spell.

Only because I don't have any way of locating said book though. Its not as if I can use a divination spell to track down a copy of it :(
Its sure to be in the Mantis home base, but I don't think we will get until then until much later, which means the book itself might contain unneeded information then.

Anyway @ everyone else

I spent most of the weekend trying to find a way to infiltrate the lizardfolk territory.

Unfortunately, there are two issues

1. Uruelleth and I don't have ranks in Stealth
2. The fact that the dinosaur grounds are in the center of lizardfolk territory, meaning it would take time to get to it.

The problem, is that I think this prevents us using Invisibility to enter because its either going to have a 7 min duration, or a 7 round duration depending on the invisibility spell. You can recast it, but I bet its going to take at least an hour if not more to sneak into the dinosaur area, and we don't have the spell slots to handle it. I can visualization of the mind to give myself Stealth, but that won't work for Uruelleth, and I need to recast everytime.

Magical disguise is also another problem, as there isn't anything longterm that would last long enough.

So we either need a way for them to bring us into the heart of their territory (and then escape) or find some other way. I can possibly cast Seed Spies / Insect Spies / Insect Scouts in the area and use that to work out what their guard / shift rotation is but thats sorta out of scope for what the spell does (and its technically divination).

Just a note as you're deciding how to proceed - I think we talked about this, but Insect Scouts (and similar spells) won't work as long as whatever is blocking divination spells persists.

It doesn't feel like we're going to be able to all sneak in. I'm not a massive fan of splitting the party or fighting our way in (and out). That suggests we either need to know the lizzardfolk much better (perhaps they have feast days where they are distracted) or we need to try this at higher level perhaps with overland flight / dominate person.

I'm hoping the Kobold quest in town is more actionable.

Just a heads up Talivar, that if you want Talia out of the situation, we need to ensure that we don't look 'weak' which is what he hates more than anything.

I bet that there is a story behind why he reacted so badly, and I *think* I can rescue the situation. If I leave right here, right now, hes probably going to think us cowards and I think that puts a nail in the coffin.

I do think its ironic though that this guy hates showing 'weakness' above all else, and showed it just now, which means whatever it is, its really bad. Hence fixing it.
