Problem with that is he needed to make the save when he delayed. Then the next time he needs to make his save at new round initiative order on turn 2. At least thats my understanding of the poison rules
Yep, this looks to be correct. Here's the interpretation from the SRD which has attempted to craft a comprehensive rule based on a number of sources...
I got bit during the surprise round and failed my save, so I need to roll again at +2 to the DC during my turn of round two.
However, so I'm going to go ahead and go, but I'd still appreciate the poison treatment from Harmini since I may need more than one save to fully rid myself of the poison.

The +2 to the DC is not correct, but otherwise this matches my understanding and how I see it.
The +2 to the DC comes when you get hit by the same poison a second time (meaning an additional dose). So, unless the snake bites you twice and you fail the initial save twice... Then the DC starts to go up, which is when it get fun... I mean yeah it's okay and all...

Since I don't see it on the list of treasure, I'm assuming that Chui has already taken the Potion of Darkvision.
Chui would like the lapis and carnelian pendant worth 25 gp for this tabby girlfriend, but other than that fluff item, there's nothing else he wants.
I think we should keep the Potion of Cure Light Wounds and the Potion of Lesser Restoration as collectively owned group resources.

![]() |

I would recommend the 2 melee characters (Chui & Wynrey) each take an Alchemist Fire so they don't have to run away screaming from the next swarm we face.
Harmini has no interest in any of the items. She'd like an even split of the loot after we sell all for 50% (Lawful Neutral makes the rules).
Also, she'll work to identify the remaining items on the list once available to do so on the following day.
I think we should keep the Potion of Cure Light Wounds and the Potion of Lesser Restoration as collectively owned group resources.
I agree that we should save the Potion of Cure Light Wounds and Potion of Lesser Restoration. However, someone in the group needs to claim them as there's no such thing as "group loot" in PF. At least, no one has a bag of holding and we don't have a "base" yet anyhow. I will volunteer Harmini to carry things for the "group" unless anyone else says otherwise.
Harmini also has other downtime activities to attend to besides buying/selling once we conclude any RP happenings.

I'll take an alchemist fire and if you don't mind I'll be taking that scarab shield as well. I'm also going to suggest that we break our loot money into five piles, with the 5th pile being an emergency fund.
If Elendra wants to carry the extra potions and scrolls and light stuff that's fine but I'll take anything heavy.
This is probably something I should already know but where is our treasure list?

I don't think I understand. What do you mean by "emergency fund"? Like if someone dies and we need to pay for a resurrection? That's why we have hero points imho. If everyone else wants to do it though... I'll play along.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

On the Campaign Information tab at the top of the page. There you will find a spoiler showing Treasure & Experience. There is a link in there to a Google Doc page for it. It also shows the current XP amount and total needed to level.

The emergency fund is for restorations, removing conditions, and yes resurrections just in case. Hero points are are a good way of avoiding death but there may come a time when we need a spell service and we don't have enough money on hand. We will probably spend our money at the same time and having even two of us running low on pocket change might mean we can't afford to remove a curse or get rid of ability drain. If this is something that we don't want to do I understand, splitting the loot five ways means we get stuff slower and there is a long list of things I want to buy as soon as I can. Shall we vote on it? I can abstain so it can't possibly end in a tie.

pjrogers |

A few thoughts/questions:
1) We're all currently at the Temple of Pharasma, correct?
2) Can we get healing, restorations, etc. there? Are they free, reduced cost, usual cost?
3) What are the restrictions on buying stuff in Wati? Could Chui buy a katana?
4) While I'm in favor of shared healing items, I'm not so much in favor of an emergency fund. Chui's a bit of an anarchist and not down with any and all forms of collectivism.
5) Chui will take an alchemist fire, but he reserves the right to still "run away screaming."
6) The downtime system is form Ultimate Campaign, right? Chui is thinking about setting himself up as a gigolo for the furry-inclined of the fair city of Wati. And since he likes to burn the candle at both ends, he'll also be pursuing his relationship with tabby "girlfriend" while staying out of sight of her very, very disapproving parents.

Harmini is perfectly willing to heal the group herself at no cost btw. Unfortunately, mechanically speaking, she spent every available resource at her disposal for the day. Come back tomorrow ;)

I personally love the downtime system from UC. It's a great way to build capital and especially great for crafters. In case I haven't said this before, I'm planning to have Harmini craft magic items for the group once we have enough money for it (and she gets the appropriate feats).
Personality-wise, she only thinks condescendingly (drawback trait) but generally acts in a helpful way. Most neutrally aligned characters tend toward good more than evil simply because it's more beneficial to have friends than enemies.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

OK, a lot to unpack here...
Yes, you are all in the temple and "healing" will be administered free of charge. Basically everyone will be treated enough to be in good health come morning (full hp, no ability damage). Unfortunately, they cannot help remove the brand on Elendra's forehead. Only time will handle that.
For purchases, the group should be able to find most normal and masterwork weapons and armor without issue. The common special materials (I know, that sounds wrong) should also be available, though some of the more unusual ones may not. Magical gear and other odd things we can discuss specifics.
You can assume that all low level healing is easily purchased at the temple.
Of course, I will honor Chui's, and everyone else's, right to run screaming from encounters. I actually encourage it.
The downtime rules in UC are almost completely available. I reserve the right to veto anything but the only thing I know I will not allow as written is the retraining HP option. So, if Chui wants to work as a gigolo he certainly can earn money or capital that way. If Wynrey wants to work on building a brewry, we can also do that. Perhaps it will lead to the Tossers opening a microbrew/brothel combination.
I will mention that the adventure path does lead you away from Wati after a while. I have already considered about how that may effect downtime and while any businesses will not necessarily travel with you, you may access most capital even when traveling. So, do not worry about that too much.
I hope this answers most of the questions.

Forget about the brewery, I'm thinking instead about opening up a swanky lounge for music and drinks, with a few back rooms for private meetings. Classy music and good drinks. If Chui want to bring his 'friends' in that's fine, I'm good at removing stray hair and stains. The opening night's act is going to be The Tuts and their Mummy, unless they are already booked...

Time will tell.
Also of note... In the downtime rules there is an option I forgot about. You CANNOT use downtime to gain XP. That one is out. Sorry.

I found the perfect place for our lounge. It's on a corner in downtown, nice foot traffic but not overwhelming. Two big main rooms with a few rooms in the back but no kitchen. It has a bar but needs a stage. Also the cellar is a bit of a mess and INFESTED with the fattest 0 XP rats I have ever seen. Lots of work. and it might be in my price range.
I think I'll call the club the Sunset Maiden.
When we all level up and you all are looking at places to put skill points I think it might be a cool idea if we all sat down and I taught you Drow sign language. Its something that can't normally be picked up but I know it and it could be a great way to silently communicate with each other in a tomb.
We just need to make sure the Drow don't find out or see us use it. They will do terrible, terrible things to us.

pjrogers |

Chui would be interested in learning drow sign language.
Have we divided up our treasure, and do we know how much money we each have? Is it the 4,919.9 figure on the Google spreadsheet?
I'd like to do some shopping. How are we doing this? Can I just buy stuff our of the core rule book, or do I need to find the appropriate store(s)/market(s) in Wati?

Talalmackk Chirronna |

Nice ideas Wynrey, we can discuss how we want to handle the club. Things like what you are looking for and the mechanics involved, but you can certainly get started on it.
As for Drow Sign language, given Wynrey's story I don't see why not assuming everyone (or at least those that want to learn it) put ranks in Linguistics to learn it. Of note, I think it actually has a name but I will have to look into it. Not sure what source it is from but I am sure I saw it given an official name.
As for treasure, technically it has not been divided yet but I think that is simply because you want to wait until the next day to try to identify the other magical gear first. We can certainly sell some now and then identify them the next morning, so here are some numbers to start. All figures are assuming selling everything not already claimed EXCEPT the unidentified items.
TOTAL PER CHARACTER with a Group share (dividing by 5): 471.41
TOTAL PER CHARACTER without a Group share (dividing by 4): 589.26 and 1 remaining copper
- 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
- 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
- 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
- 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
- 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
- 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22
- 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
- 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
- 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
There are two significant magic items still to include so it may seen like the treasure is a bit lower. Please take a look at the treasure list as it is now. Specifically the Items To Sell list. If there are any items on there you wish to keep, such as the masterwork bows or other weapons, let me know and I will take them off. Please let me know by the end of today so we can move on tomorrow at the latest. Thanks.

1 day would be nice.
#1. We can make new attempts at identifying the remaining items and sell/buy new gear.
#2. Harmini would like scribe 3 scrolls onto her Wyrd's not face.
I'd say no more than 3 days depending on what the others would like to do. Harmini can certainly occupy herself for any length of time.

Chui Nyeusi |

I'm good with three days.
Chui will spend...
One day at the market buying stuff.
One day courting his tabby kittenfriend. If we play this strictly by the Ultimate Campaign rules, he only has a Relationship Score of 2 with her (aka Association) (pp. 176 of UC). Maybe, Chui hasn't been getting as much as he's been claiming.
One day being "just a gigolo." Since, Chui is technically untrained in this "skill" area (though I'm sure, he would beg to differ), he would earn a whole 5 sp! Alternatively, maybe he could use his +2 Diplomacy (Bluff is the same) for a skill check?
I'm sure that Wynrey's club will be magnificent in the near future, but I think I'll entertain my kittenfriend and clients elsewhere for the time being.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

Ok, it seems like we are taking 3 days of downtime. This is fine for me. Which means we should make sure we understand how the downtime mechanics work if people want to use it. Please read the section in the PRD, DOWNTIME, and if you have any questions let me know. Below I will address each of you with what needs to be considered.
As a group though I would like to move along the actual play of the game, as there is an important RP event next. It takes place back at the Tooth and Hookah, so we will return there.
Back to downtime...
Selling and buying gear does not take any specific time so each of you can do that and still take one downtime action each day.
Chui, I will have to get back to you on the "courting". I have not read that section, heck I didn't know it existed. Let me read it tonight and see what it is. As for "gigolo" work, yes you can use diplomacy or bluff to earn gold in that field. You can also use it to earn possible capital (see the downtime rules) if you are interested in that.
Harmini, teaching your rock a spell does not take any specific time, so you would be able to take downtime actions if you like as well. I need to review the rules on witches familiars and learning from scrolls, but other than a possible roll I don't think there is an issue. EDIT: Yep, I am wrong. It will take 1 day of downtime to teach him... I guess he's a little slower than I thought.
Elendra, Gathering Information is one of the Downtime actions you can take, or you can simply make one check per day and still take a Downtime action. Or you could spend a day or two earning influence and then use that influence to make a better Gather Information action.
Wynrey, I am not sure if you are simply using the club as a story element or if you actually want to use the Downtime mechanics to own a club. I am honestly okay either way. We can work together to figure out the cost if you like. You can spend the three days earning money, capital, or whatever, which can be used to build a club or you can simply pay gold and wait. Your call, let me know.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

Chui, so I read the RELATIONSHIP section. Pretty interesting. I am cool using this. Also, given the story elements you have worked in I will give you a bonus point, so you will start as 3 points into it. Now, let's work out some details.
And of note, just because you are "associates" doesn't mean you haven't had success. Woman have needs as well.
Elendra, cool. We can handle the rolls after the RP scene. And we will handle it one day at a time to avoid issue with making unnecessary checks. If you rock the first check, not need for the "influenced" checks.
Wynrey, the specifics will take me a little while to work out. Give me a day or two to check into it. Are you serving food and drinks, or just drinks? Is it also an inn? What purposes are the rooms for, just private meetings? It will also take some time beyond money, and there are options to make it a little cheaper if you try to earn capital as well. Take a look over the downtime rules while I work it out.

Chui Nyeusi |

Well, at this point, I don't even have a name for her. She's just Chui's "tabby kittenfriend," and her dad doesn't approve of Chui (yeah, like no one saw that coming).
Besides her name, other things to consider:
1) Is she also a follower of Bastet? I'd say "yes," and that's probably why her dad is so cranky. At the risk of being stereotypical, he's probably a nice respectable member of the Wati community who worships Sarenrae or Pharasma.
I've never been sure how worship of the old Osirion gods fits into contemporary Osirion society. I suspect that it's a semi-underground activity that's officially disapproved of. The older Osirion Land of the Pharaohs book has a potentially useful section on "Cults of Osirion," though these are slightly different from the Ancient Osirion gods who were, I think, introduced later.
2) Is she cool with Chui's gigolo gig? If she's a follower of Bastet, probably "yes," as Bastet has some Calistrian elements.
3) Chui is planning on giving her that piece of jewelry he found in the tomb. According to UC p. 177, this is generally done when a PC goes up a level, so Chui will wait just a little.
I think that's about it for Chui and his tabby at this point.

Chui Nyeusi |

Chui . . . As for "gigolo" work, yes you can use diplomacy or bluff to earn gold in that field. You can also use it to earn possible capital (see the downtime rules) if you are interested in that.
Chui generally looks for the bored, trophy wives of rich Osirion merchants, government officials, members of the clergy of respectable religions, etc. Maybe there is a nice tearoom in the Morning Sun district of Wati that he can cruise. His gigolo gig is part fun, part making money, and part spreading the good word of Bastet.
I'm going to try for Influence Capital Earned.
That was a close run thing. I spend 15 gp on drinks, a nice hotel room, etc., and I earn one point of Influence capital.

Talalmackk Chirronna |

I am working on some details, including name. Should be coming soon.

Yes, she is a follower of the old gods, and tends to think Bastet is more her style. She would not be from Wati but the rest makes sense.
As for the old gods, it isn't so much underground or frowned upon as it is misunderstood. In the time when Osirion was a vassel of the Keleshite Empire, the old gods were replaced (kind of like how Christianity replaced the old Roman and north faiths). I will see if I can download the one section of the Mummy's Mask Books that detail all of it.
2) Is she cool with Chui's gigolo gig? If she's a follower of Bastet, probably "yes," as Bastet has some Calistrian elements.
I envisioned the gig was kind of how the relationship started. Kind of a reverse Pretty Woman.
3) Chui is planning on giving her that piece of jewelry he found in the tomb. According to UC p. 177, this is generally done when a PC goes up a level, so Chui will wait just a little.
What piece of jewelry specifically? The holy symbol of Pharasma or the gold scarab clasp that Elendra is currently wearing?
Otherwise, yeah that works.

OK, this will be the next day's activity. Downtime won't happen the day after the exploration.
