What's it like where I'm from? Well I grew up in Fangwood Keep which is on the boarder of Molthune and Nirmathas, my Mom kinda sorta runs the place when she's not off on one of her adventures and tries to keep the peace which almost never works. Growing up there was OK I guess. The keep itself was huge and I loved playing around the grounds and the woods. I could do whatever I want except leave. Mom and Dad said that people wouldn't like me and would want to hurt me so I needed to get ready. The really cool thing that I loved were the people that would stop by and say hi. My god-mother Candi, a HUGE half-orc, taught me how to fight and tried to teach me how to 'rage' or something but I can't get mad like she wanted to so she just told me how to hit stuff. This insane guy with a crossbow would stop by and taught me to think on my feet and 'just roll with it?' and this nice Sylph named Nick and his niece would stop in and bring me books to read so I wouldn't feel so cooped up. Right now Mom is on some big 10 eyed adventure and my dad is super busy being the administrator that he was born to be so I told him "I want adventure in the great wide somewhere, I want it more than I can tell" and he said that he knew I was ready and would find a way to keep in touch. Oh wow, have I been talking too much? I'm sorry.
Oh and thanks for the bone Chui I can tell Rosa loves it , is that...is that nip? Buddy, lets put it in this hookah! Roman has told me that if you smoke it , the shit gets wild and I wanna try it. Now where did I put that...

I just had a thought so I figured I would bring it up. Considering that a few people don't seem to have done the PBP before, it is not a safe assumption that you all have access to Roll20.
Roll20 is the site we use for the mapping of the game. It is a great tool but you do need to sign up. It is free, unless you want to run a game with all the bells and whistles. I have a paid account so this game will have some of those bells and whistles (but not all), specifically the Dynamic Lighting. This function is interesting (in my opinion) because it adds in visuals to include actual line of sight and length of vision.
So, feel free to sign up. I am adding in a map of the Tooth and Hookah soon and adding tokens for each character. Once you have an account, let me know and I will send an invite for the specific game. Then you can go on and play with it to see what I mean.
One concern that people may have with this discussion and that it isn't on the actual Game Play thread. If something important to the overall story, a question or something, I may hold an answer and ask that the question come up when we actually play, and I will keep a list of such questions to poke people when we start. So, keep it up, get into character and see how the character mix together. None of this is "official" in my mind so if you ret-con a few aspects don't feel it will screw things up.

Once you have an account, let me know and I will send an invite for the specific game. Then you can go on and play with it to see what I mean.

Chui's tabby-hued fantasies were washed away in a wave of half-elven exposition and replaced by a throbbing in his temples.
Alas my good lass, it's CAT-nip, not "grey-tinted half-elf"-nip. And one sniffs it. I suspect smoking it could lead to severe brain damage and eccentric, psychotic behavior, and I hope this fate has not befallen this "Roman" individual.

MROW! My dear, there are NO other cats quite like me. As for my story, it's rather dull - top marks at the Academy of Assassins, idiot aristocratic father arrested for plotting treason, late night departure from home into the wilds of the Mwangi Expanse, a rather tiring year as gigolo for an orc witch queen, and now the lovely tombs of Osirion. There's not much to tell.

I have added a link to the Roll20 Map to the top of the threads, this way the map is easily on hand at all times.
I have also added a spoiler hidden list of other links related to Wait. Currently there is a link that shows the City Stats of Wati, if anyone is interested. The other one is the map of the city of Wati, showing the relative positions of things. Not much is shown yet but I will be adding more (as evident by the #'s going 7,8,19, and 24). I also intend to give descriptions of each on a seperate link.

Wynrey looks around after sitting alone for a while. Slowly she takes out a book and pulls out an odd necklace that she is wearing.
Well I know for sure that its not magical and this book tells me that it similar in construction and style to other artifacts from around here. I'll have to start searching again tomorrow morning.

So, something new to check out for those who may not be as familiar with Roll20.
I am changing it to a new map for the moment. This is a map that I have set up to show how the dynamic lighting kind of works. There are several enemies hidden in the map but you may not see them. I have set up each character to see what they should normally see. So in your current positions you could not see most of the enemies.
Yes, this take darkvision into consideration, as well as low-light. So, those with darkvision should be able to see a full 60 ft out clearly as well as those things in independent light (such as the gnoll). Those with only low-light will only see the light as defined by their settings, so the area you are currently in is pitch black, but the area of light is a little bigger.

Hmm, they're all chicks. And they'll have friends who are chicks. So, I can make passes at their chick friends. Plus, I'll look all sensitive and such by hanging with a bunch of adventuring chicks. I LIKE THIS!
Chui straightens up, runs a paw through his hair, and wipes the partly congealed goat blood from his chin. He did well in the etiquette and courtly manners courses at Murraseth Academy of Assasins, and he can turn on the smarmy (Cha 15) charm as needed.

Wynrey turns around and looks at cool catman, the mysterious magic user, and a small charming girl that knows her way around. When she looks down at the glass in her hand and sees her own reflection, a wide smile slowly stretches across her face.
I don't know if everyone is here, but I can tell you that this is everything that we need. We have the brains and we have the brawn, we have the stealth and we have the sorcery, we have the tools and we have the talent. I mean just look at us! I can't think of a puzzle we can't solve, a trap we can't break, or a situation we could't talk our way out of. And if that thing does exist well...I can hit it with my sword pretty well. We're so good we could scare a zombie, make a bugbear shit his pants, and make a mummy cry 'uncle'. If we did want to group up we could do some real damage together so I'm asking, do we want to go out and toss some tombs?

That sounds perfect! If this is really going to be a thing, we should talk about what we are all going to be doing if things get bad.
Lets say that we are out in Wati and one of the dead things gets up and starts shambling towards us. I would pull out my sword and try to get in its stupid face

My friend from the temple taught me some blessings that may help. but I would rather not be near the undead. and we don't really need to worry about being thirsty she taught me how to make water appear to. and I have noticed that I don't need to strike flint to start a fire which is a bit odd. in all honesty I feel like you and mr. chui are more than capable combatants.
Chui observes Wynrey's "wiggling" and makes a mental note to always have a clear withdrawal path while in the necropolis with his fellow adventurers
It goes without saying that I shall be in the heat of combat. The motto of my old school was "First In! Last Out!"
Chui is quite confident they will never travel to Murraseth and are thus unlikely to learn that the real motto of the Academy of Assassins is "Don't ask for credit as a knife in the kidneys often offends."

Hmm, she uses divine spells but she can create fire? Well Penny does stuff like that, except that Penny channels weird space magic instead of fire.
Or maybe its some type of Sarenrae worship stuff? I don't know. Chui will claw things to death and I'm guessing that Harmini has crazy cool witch powers, but Elendra seems so young. I'll have to keep my eyes on her if combat starts, I hope she can stay safe.
