Ha! An ally within the pirates of the shackles? Good luck! Even the best of them would gladly cut a Chelishman's throat before aligning with them.
As a player note to any who might be pondering: I'm playing the Princess as a Witch.

A witch? Oh. I just assumed that she was a Mythic Bard/Rogue/Ninja/Pirate/Witch. It is comforting to learn that Her Majesty is a merely a normal Witch.

Well, there is one more, but GM-Protean isn't a valid class, so.... Lol!
| GM Leviathan |
I thought it was fitting. She's meet been outside the nation for educating, but it's beginning to become obvious that she's a powerful mage of some sort. Oddly, she's never seen with anything resembling a familiar though.
And I'm settling on her other bits... I think it'd be more fitting for a noble, but not what you would think for the Princess. She will be Gestalted.
Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher

Hmm, I am glad that the Princess is on our side!
She's not Gestalting with Gunslinger, is she?

"Father will heartily disapprove."
Eh... better a pirate than a Chelaxian.
Meanwhile, my Kingmaker character, working as the royal treasurer and economic advisor, is a professional tailor/architect who occasionally throws fireballs, constructs most of the barony's new buildings with the power of his mind, and is turning the local kobolds into an efficient silver mining operations. Yay for clerics of Brigh.
My Skull & Shackles one, on the other hand... is a Lore Oracle, who uses applied knowledge of engineering to fire siege weapons with perfect accuracy at maximum range, specializing in deadly alchemical ammo. Because... pirates?
Pathfinder gets weird.

Meanwhile, Lady Gabrielle may turn out to be even more normal than the NPCs!
That might be a problem. She might have to get wierder, so she can blend in.

I did a quick edit to my last post just now. I thought of a clever way to insert the secret word into her speech.
| GM Leviathan |
I feel like the Soiree was just some light fun, but here's where things start to get interesting. lol!

Uh oh... Valignatir's post just now was post #666...
RUN!!!
| GM Leviathan |
Ok! For suspense reasons... And my sanity. I'll be going out tonight, so I won't be posting untill tomorrow. I think we're making great progress in the story. The quick fire posts weren't as taxing as last time.
| Lord "Inkwell" Rook |
Well, then, this can only end well
Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher

I think a Princess Eutropia alias will be very appropriate for this game. It means that our game will get more exposure, as she'll show up as a Paizo Person.
Also... Is an invisibility purge actually running when we all meet up?
Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher
|
Oh, it's cool. It'll add some flavor to an upcoming post, and elicit some eyerolling.
But true sight isn't up, is it?
| Lord "Inkwell" Rook |
Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher
|
It is? Well, that means you'll get 250gp worth of 100% pure eyerolling.
Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher
|
Well, once Valignatir comes out to meet his guests, he'll see what I'm talking about!
| Lord "Inkwell" Rook |
Err, I believe everyone else just sort of walked into the house? Are y'all awkwardly standing around outside?
The problem with AMF is that there's no way to stop it, and it takes all magic out of the fight. But eh, everything has its counter.
If Val was being really paranoid, he'd have cast Protection From Energy: Electricity.
Just make a tinfoil hat, should be fine
| Lady Kyra Rubicon |
Sort of waiting for Nev to post but whatever.
Also, there's an excellent way to stop AMF. Be an anti-mage who doesn't let spellcasters ever cast anyways! (Argos is basically a spellcaster's nightmare, he teleports, he doesn't let them step away, his f$&~s with their defensive casting, and he can nuke them with Intensified spells).
| Lord "Inkwell" Rook |
Eh... Argos can certainly annoy an NPC caster. Then again, I think of a "proper" Anti-Mage as something like a Silenced Tetori or Maneuver Master with a bucket of Dispelling and Spell-Storing Darkness Shurikens. (The more intelligent spellcaster NPCs you fight, the more paranoid you get...)
| Valignatir |
Forbiddance, Magic Circle Against Evil, Magic Circle against Good, Nondetection- Val, True Seeing- Val, Freedom of Movement- Val, Invisibility Purge- Val, and False Vision.
| GM Leviathan |
I'm going to make a Eutropia NPC profile tonight, so I can continue this is a better manner.
Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher
|
Whoa! The claws are out! I want to see how Lord Rook reacts.
Oops... I posted that first in the Game play thread. Doh!
Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher
|
But... The Lady... Is looking for him for support... Don't abandon me, old man!
| Lord "Inkwell" Rook |
Back you up in suggesting an invasion of Cheliax? Seems a little tetchy, maybe we should just move on with the conversation.
Of course, if we wind up needing someone to assassinate Valignatir, I'm probably a decent person for the job.

His words, not hers. Constantine, you've got my back, right?
| Ser Constantine Rook |
His words, not hers. Constantine, you've got my back, right?
If it happened at the soiree or in private, of course! But straight to the Chelaxian asp while in his own villa surrounded by his soldiers and magic in a place that was shrouded from scrying? Not so much. Constantine doesn't care that the Princess seems to trust him, he treads carefully so not to encourage the asp to strike while he rests in its den.
Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher
|
Gotcha, gotcha. It seems that Lady Gabrielle has um... Brass balls? Hehehe...
The exchange has Gabrielle wondering why the heck we are in the asp's nest in the first place, though.
Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher

Pfeh. You gentlemen, always assuming the worst about women with ideas. Clarification post made.
| GM Leviathan |
Happy 4th everyone!
It's family time for me, so I'm doubtful I'll be posting tonight, but if I do, hurray!
