Lord "Inkwell" Rook
Hmm, Dimension Door would get us 2/3 of the way, but I only have a +19 to follow tracks, which is probably not enough to be useful.
My mount is strong and dextrous enough to overrun or vault over any carriages that get in the way, and I can boost its speed to ~80' (320'/round running), but this is the kind of thing that gets you shot at by palace guards.
Valignatir
Yeah, Kyra, what he said. I had no idea, really.
That's, what, 1500 feet? What's the range on your Dimension Door?
Also, Gabrielle, it's the basic secret door from the villa, like a DC 25 perception to find.
Val understands the need for secrecy, and would certainly let you pass.
He'll just wait until you go through to cast the Shell.
GM Leviathan
Gabby can hear the conversation from behind the door.

Lady Kyra Rubicon
Argos can just cast the spell twice, since he has that awesome spell recall ability.
But that's limited to 4 people aside from himself. As for 12th level jump PCs, Kyra has a pretty ridiculous Initiative modifier and can expend Heightened Awareness to boost it...then cast Mad Monkeys or Slow to disable everyone.
...or y'know. Dance. And have everyone calm the f&*! down.
GM Leviathan
Prepare for transportation tomorow(irl) once Blackwell has decided this is the most secure location and he knows exactly where the Princess is, his next priority is the Emperor.
I expect that this will split the party, but as said before this game began, large combat isn't likely to happen if you aren't prepared.
Lord "Inkwell" Rook
Remember that there's just been an assassination attempt... so anyone blinking in via teleportation (or just running into the palace) probably triggers a "shoot first and ask questions later" panic option.
GM Leviathan
Something of note, if I forgot it on earlier posts, the Black Widows are linked to Ustalav some how
GM Leviathan
I'm also taking liberties with the equipment available/on the named NPCs. Tbeard, Commandodude, if you will be joining the scene as your alters, please PM me about the particular needs of the situation.
Valignatir
You're probably right, Lord Rook, but what if we take the Inspector with us?
He was sent out to get the Princess, and if we bring her to the castle, then surely they wouldn't attack?
As for Ustalav, I think you did mention it somewhere.
Kinda makes me wonder why you mentioned it now, however...
GM Leviathan
Was an option open to you if you so choose. If not, no harm nor foul.
GM Leviathan
Twas midnight till 1am for me
GM Leviathan
Arguably, most of that was me on multiple characters.

Hmm, I seem to have committed the classic Stealth Blunder. If we are looking at teleporting, I'll just have Lady Gabrielle chill out where she is then emerge once people leave the room.
Although... What's behind the secret door, Valignatir?

Valignatir
Well, nothing big.
Tiberion
Valignatir
Umfortunately, even though I thought about it, I decided not to.
I do, however, have access to the cure spells I prepared, along with Lesser Restoration, Remoe Blindness/Deafness, and Remove Disease.
With an hour of prayer, I can switch into ultra-healing mode.
That's the versatility of the cleric!
Also, I'm planning on leaving one slot open from 4th level and down from now on.
I'm kicking myself for not doing so.
Edit: if Argos will take Val, Tiberion will stay behind to protect this who don't go, along with direct his summons.
Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher

Nev, are you heading to the palace or staying with the Princess?
-Posted with Wayfinder
Lady Kyra Rubicon
It is a sin to never leave a spell slot open! Unfortunately all Kyra can really do is heal hit points. Toilsome Chant can't be used with Inspire Heroics or Greatness which is a shame.
Lex does have a 3rd level cleric he can call on to memorize any 2nd level spell that becomes necessary. Janus will probably be more capable though.
Valignatir
Yeah, I figured.
I'm not sure why I didn't, I usually do.
Just looked through Val's sheet again, and Sisenanna, who I haven't really even figured out who is, has a scroll of Neutralize Poison.
I kinda assumed everyone important in my club would be at my villa for this, can that include Sisenanna?
Cause that gives us the methods to get rid of poison.
Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher

OK. I'll have Lady Gabrielle meet up with the two of you at an appropriate time. She is eavesdropping and checking out Valignatir's secret lair first.

Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher

I did. Any particularly interesting pieces of writing down there?

GM Leviathan
Sisenanna... Isn't that Val's sister who's minding his estate in Cheliax?
Also, consider very carefully, there actually hasn't been time to search and secure the entire palace, and Nev is quite correct in her observations. There is a reason why Val's Villa was chosen as a secret meeting place.
The princess is too stunned to give commands at this time, so she will do whatever you recommend is the best course of action.
Lady Kyra Rubicon
Unless Val makes a case where he thinks he can render immediate assistance to the Emperor, he'll probably take Nev, since A) He likes her more, B) She's the Princess' sworn sword, and C) He doesn't 100% trust Val.
Edit: Ah, I didn't know that. Combined with the other information, Lex might reconsider taking her there immediately.
Valignatir
Ah! That's right! I remember.
She actually is Val's sister, but not in Cheliax.
She's in his castle south of Cassomir.
And alright, when I get back to my computer, Gabrielle, I'll send you a PM with some of the stuff down there.
It's not really story-specific, so I think I'll just tell you there.
Man, everyone is digging into my secrets xD
Kyra, maybe we should leave Eutropia at my villa for now?
There are quite a few people who would give their lives for her there right now.
Me not among those numbers, of course.
OOC, Tiberion just did some stuff outside the room, it's probably defensive stuff.
Maybe even....summoning?! :O
GM Leviathan
I thought I was going to be able to post tonight, unfortunately I'm not. I'm sorry. Kid stuff.
Lord "Inkwell" Rook
Hmm. My cohort would've been sent to the palace. If we're splitting the party in half, Lord Rook could stay behind (especially because a lot of people don't seem to know who Atticus is), although he might be the best at perception and tracking, so if the party wants to send him to the palace they can.
Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher
|
Gotta protect against teleportation somehow, right? Else, why have walls or guards in the first place?
-Posted with Wayfinder
Lord "Inkwell" Rook
Well, this changes some things. Lord Rook can't do jack in an antimagic field. Maybe Nev should go with that group?
Meanwhile, anyone who wants to can borrow my "horse"—but he's only trained to respond to battle commands in Ancient Osiriani, because Lord Rook thought that would be funny.
Lady Gabrielle d'Apcher
|
Hmm... So who's going where? I'll have Lady Gabrielle meet up with Nev wherever she ends up going.
-Posted with Wayfinder
Nev Atropa
Nev can go. She doesn't oppose going to the palace where she is 95% certain that there are assassins hiding, just opposed to taking the princess there. She would prefer to stay with the princess and where she is fairly certain Gabby is hiding, and she is comfortable here as well, but if she's asked, she will go.
GM Leviathan
Alright, give me a check who's going?
Kyra (disguised)
Argus
Lex
Val
Who else?
Doctor Janus of Oenopion
Janus, I'm assuming, will meet up with people there, for maximum storyline ease.
...I'll send the monkey, though; he can carry messages and things.
Valignatir
I will go, but Tiberion is going to stay behind, in order to protect the Princess and those who stay.
Kyra, if you want a Misdirection, Tiberion will give you one, choosing the Princess as the object detected.
Edit: Kyra, all magic, beyond a few effects, will be supressed, if within the field. Now, actual Antimagic Field is a 10' emanation, but I'm not sure about GM Fiat Antimagic Field.
