Depending on where you live, it's over 17 hours for me. If the GM is from the US it's at least 23 hours and that's midnight.

Or you live in Alaska and its 28 hours until 00:00 wednesday. :)

Corerue/Chi here.

Here is my second submission.

I present Teldrin.
Lapith Paladin/Magus (Kensai, Bladebound)

A Paladin in service to Desna and a crusader in the war against the demons of the Worldwound.

It took me sometime to drop Gunslinger, Cavalier is a definite dip for this setup and I will be going for a Dervish build. Its not the most optimal but, just like Chi, its full of RP goodness. Its also a fun experiment to see how Paladin/Magus does together. :)

Kensai/Bladebound was an obvious choice for Magus Arch's

I couldn't find anything decent enough for the Paladin Arch wise, but Bonded weapon at lvl 5 + Bladebound weapon will make for a powerful combo in itself. :)

I am working out his story however Chance Encounter remains my favored trait the others just dont fit quite right.

His background, appearance and personality will be up shortly.

Followed by his potholes and mythic path. :)

done & done.

Potholes = Plot hooks. My phone loves me. :p

And done, will update the profile page with the crunch from earlier when I get back home.
Any feedback is welcome, I'm always willing to improve.

Background:

Ing grew up in an orphanage in Kenebras toget(her with his twin brother Ieru. They did everything together though Ing usually was the optimistic one of the two, while Ieru sometimes struggled with darker thoughts. Once they got older they left the orphanage and lived together, taking small jobs to come by and, if the situation left no other choice, they stole some food to survive.

On one of their errants that brought them outside of the city they got captured by a group of cultists. They were brought to an encampment and locked up separately. The next days the cultist slowly starved them and tried to convert them to join their cause. Eventually when Ing was close to hallucination from the lack of food a woman had infiltrated the camp and managed to save him and several other prisoners. When she tried to save Ieru however, he refused to come with her. He said he had seen the light and knew his purpose now. Ing passed out shortly after and woke up in the temple of Desna in Kerebras, vaguely remembering the amulet of Desna the woman was wearing. When he asked around about the woman, the acolytes couldn’t tell him anything useful however.

In the next years Ing trained to become stronger so one day he could go and search for his brother and free him from his dark fate. Not only that, he’ll make sure no one else will have to go through that experience ever again.

Personality:

Ing is a Tiefling from Kenebras and as such has learned to accept his roots rather than hide them. After all there are plenty of Tiefling crusaders. He knows he will need friends to reach his goals as his strengths lay more in stealthy support and information gathering than in getting up close. He’s good-natured and will go through fire for those that have earned his friendship.

Appearance:

For a Tiefling Ing is fairly small and skinny, with an intelligent spark in his eyes. For the rest he looks a bit like this, but less menacing. He wears a sling around his waist and a starknife at his hip.

Plot hooks:

The lady that saved him: she might know more about the whereabouts of Ieru.
The cultists that captured and converted his brother.
Converting his brother.
Freeing other prisoners of cultists (be it the same group or other groups).
Any promising opportunity to bring a major blow to the Demons and their worshippers.

Mythic Path:

Trickster

as far as Gestalt goes in hero Lab, I just do the same as Rednal suggested.

I actually made an archetype in herolab that added all the stuff from rogue to the ranger. Only the rogue talents I cant seem to fit in there yet.

For those without herolab, sCoreForge is also quite nice to add it, at least if they support all the abilities you need. There I could just create a new class and load everything from battlescout, then add the rogue stuff at appropriate levels.

Khenbish, my Arcanist|Cleric is done and has a ton of money left to spare. He simply doesn't need it.

As far as my second entry goes,, I´m still working at the details but I´m looking at a Witch (Scarred Witch Doctor) || Bloodrager with the Celestial bloodline.

If allowed I'd like to make her an Angelkin Aasimar born from Orcish blood, thus explaining her Scarred Witch Doctor archetype. If Not I'll go Half Orc.

Basic idea for the background:
Khayalani does not remember anything about her early life. The only thing she remembers is that she should be dead as she remembers being sacrificed to a demon lord in the Land of the Mammoth Lords, where she comes from. The rest begins after waking up in a bed in Kenabres where she was found by crusaders, wrapped in red silk with a pure white porcelain mask on the face. While they should have been scared by the odd appearance the clear celestial nature called them and caused them to bring her in. When the healers unwrapped the silken bandages they found her entire body covered in scars that suggested dismemberment and evisceration.

When she awoke she carried within her a need for vengeance against the demon cultists and a deep hatred of demon kind. In addition she started receiving visions from and about the empyreal lord Vildeis who encouraged her in her new found hatred for demons.

Associated plot hooks:

- In her past Khayalani actually was the Orcish head of a demon cult devoted to Sifkesh. Her death was a ritual suicide forced upon her when her pupil took control of the cult.
- Vildeis pulled her soul from it's path towards the boneyard to prevent her from ending up empowering Sifkesh and remade her, turning her into a vessel of her own cause.
- The cult has moved into the Worldwound and works from there now to corrupt any remaining pockets of barbarian resistance.

The story feat will be Arisen and the she'll be Dual pathing, going mainly for Champion but supplementing it with Archmage abilities (boosting hexes and bloodline).

Cuan, the Scarred Witchdoctor is allowed for an Aasimar descended from Orcish stock!

In about 24 hours, I will select characters!

GM MotA!

Sounds good! Also that is my last entry, I am pretty happy with my two entry. Thanks for letting us use 3pp, tried to not go crazy with it but Lapith was an idea I have been wanting to do for a long time. Same with Ratfolk. :D

Also fyi (if needed) Lapith comes from SGG Races of Horn and Hoof. :)

Edit....

Maybe you could run two games... >.>

<.<::
___________________________________________________________________________

I'm pretty happy with the two characters I submitted. :)

Chi Gunslinger - Gulch Gunner, Musket Master/ Alchemist - Grenadier:
A bomb throwing, gunslinging ratfolk alchemist is just plain fun! Especially if I went more skaven with it. With it being a 9 rp race it'll be interesting to add more to her if I get a chance...

Maybe some more arms, since you know... Alchemists love their mutagens but a four armed gunslinger? Talk about reload time!

Tedrin Magus - Kensai, Bladebound/Paladin:
A lapith Paladin/Magus is an experiment to see if it can work well. I thought Smite + Spell combat would be an interesting combination.

Coupled with the black blade at 3rd lvl, dervish dancing and bonded weapon at 5th lvl it'll be very interesting to see how it turns out. :)

And he serves as his own mount, no need to take the mounted feat tree and that saves on what I need to branch into.

Originally I was really set on Cavalier/Magus and may still dip in it.

Cuan

That looks like an interesting character, I will be interested in seeing how it turns out.

Lune

Hehhe, I know how you feel.

Looking forward to how it ends and its gonna be great either way! :)

Cool. Just as a side note, since I figured it wasn't quite clear from my post: She was born an Orc but became an Aasimar when Vildeis revived her and infused her with some of her own essence.

Well, that's still an Aasimar from Orcish stock lol. :P

Hmm... that reminds me. I should probably get back to work on my other ideas for Legendary Items' abilities...

I look forward to your legendary item combos Rednal. I have been looking into it as well! :D

What I have done is things like these, though I'm still thinking about tweaks and getting more people to review them. XD The short version, though... is that items need more things to spend Legendary Power on. You get TEN abilities if you go all the way to Major Artifact, and quite frankly, that doesn't do very much for most items. o wo;

So I started coming up with added powers following a few criteria - a Bonded creature should be able to control them, they should be flavorful, and they should be very powerful but limited in the number of uses. Hence the following.

Lots of Text:
New Abilities for Legendary Items

The Legendary Items of Mythic Heroes are some of the most powerful tools in all the realms... so it should be no surprise that many of their varied abilities are equally powerful! The following is a selection of some of the abilities that have been known to exist on the weapons of heroes.

Atoning: This ability allows the user of the legendary item to remove the burden of misdeeds from others by touching them with the item, as the spell Atonement. If the act committed was unwilling or the result of any form of compulsion, this ability does not have any cost and the atonement is made immediately. If the misdeed was committed intentionally, activating this ability requires one use of legendary power. However, instead of providing a cost in incense and offerings, the subject may choose to accept a Geas/Quest (as the spell) for some specific task, goal, or action. That spell does not need to be prepared or on your list of spells known; it is cast through the magic of the legendary item. If the person seeking atonement accepts the Geas/Quest, they are treated as having atoned while performing the task and are freed, with permanent atonement for their misdeed, once they fulfill its requirements. However, if they willingly and intentionally stop trying to fulfill their task before completing it (which is not always the same thing as not obeying it for a given time, and subject to GM interpretation), the temporary atonement is immediately removed and they take two permanent negative levels (to a minimum of 1 level; no saving throws or resistances apply, and these negative levels cannot be removed except by means of a Miracle or Wish spell cast by someone other than the person previously seeking atonement). A legendary item must be at least a minor artifact to select this ability.

Banishing: This ability gets rid of extraplanar creatures as the spell Banishment, but the item must make physical contact with the being(s) that are being banished. When this option is selected, choose an alignment and being either for or against it (against is prefixed as "Non-"). For example, an "Evil Banishing" weapon would activate upon touching any Evil extraplanar creature, while a "Non-Good Banishing" item would activate against any extraplanar creature that is not good. Clearly displaying any items or substances that would improve the caster level check (as qualifying for the spell Banishment) will allow the same bonuses for this ability. Activating this ability requires one use of Legendary Power. A creature Bonded to an item with this ability can choose to not activate the Banishing while holding the item, but if a legendary item with this ability is unattended or held by a creature that is not Bonded to it, it will always activate this power if it is able to do so. Save DCs are either equal to the Bonded creature's (if there is one, whether or not the item is being held by them), the last creature Bonded to it (if not currently Bonded), or the creator's DCs, in that order of priority. A creature that successfully saves against this ability cannot be targeted by it again for 24 hours. A legendary item must be at least a minor artifact to select this ability, and a creature Bonded to the item cannot select an alignment for this ability that would banish them if they were extraplanar. If this item changes to a different Bonded creature, or the original creature changes alignments, that creature may select a new alignment for this power, following the restrictions listed above.

Burdening: This ability makes the legendary item feel extremely heavy to anyone who touches it except for the creature Bonded to it. If the Bonded creature is not touching the legendary item and any other creature does, the item immediately becomes too heavy for them to lift - and will adjust its weight as necessary if the creature touching it enhances their strength somehow. The Bonded creature may select one or more criteria to allow others to hold the item, such as "everyone in my adventuring party except the Rogue" or "any Good creature". The legendary item cannot be fooled into thinking that a creature either does or doesn't have permission to carry it.

Cursing: This ability curses others as the spell Major Curse, activating when the item touches a creature. Activating this ability requires two uses of legendary power, and a creature cannot be affected by more than one curse inflicted this way at a time; attempts to add further curses will automatically fail. A Bonded wielder may choose to not activate this ability while holding the item, and may give others permission to touch the item, but the legendary item will always attempt to curse those who touch it without the permission of its owner unless told not to. A Cursing legendary item does not need to be present when permission is given; it always knows who has permission to touch it and who does not. A creature that successfully saves against this ability cannot be affected by it again for 24 hours.

Enchantment Breaking: This ability helps to remove effects from others, as the spell Break Enchantment, activating when the item strikes an appropriate target. Activating this ability requires one use of legendary power. Unlike some other spell-like abilities legendary items may have, an item with this power will not automatically attempt to break enchantments it comes into contact with. The wielder of the item must intentionally try to break an enchantment, and they do not need to know what the enchantment is. If the attempt to break an enchantment through this power fails, this ability cannot be used on that creature again for 24 hours (even for an attempt to break a different enchantment).

Firecalling: This ability grants the Flaming property to weapons that the user and their allies hold, as the spell Call of Fire with a duration of a number of rounds equal to twice the user's Mythic tier. Activating this ability requires one use of legendary power.

Locating: This ability allows a Bonded creature to locate the legendary item, as if using Find the Path (as the spell) with the ability to find this item instead of a location. Activating this ability is a free action, but will automatically fail if the legendary item is on a different plane. The magical knowledge given by this ability is not stopped by areas such as antimagic fields unless they are created by a mythic creature of a tier equal to or greater than the tier of the creature the Locating item is Bonded to.

Memorizing: This ability allows the user to add a spell to a legendary item and have it triggered under certain conditions. When you select this ability, choose a spell that you have prepared or that is on your list of spells known - this spell must be at least three levels below the highest level of magic you are able to cast and may not have material components of more than 1 GP or a casting time greater than 1 standard action. Afterwards, select a specific criteria for that spell's activation, such as "when the item touches an enemy" or "when my health drops below half". Criteria that are too general (such as "whenever it would be bad if the spell didn't activate") will not work, and the GM may deny any spell/criteria combination for any reason (for this reason, you should ask them about the combination you want before selecting this power). Once the spell and criteria have been selected, the legendary item will attempt to cast the memorized spell at every opportunity at a cost of two legendary power each time. A mythic creature who is Bonded to an item with this ability can suppress the activation of this power as long as they are in contact with it. It is possible to change the memorized spell (and/or activation criteria) through a special ritual lasting 8 hours - however, a Memorized spell cannot be changed any more often than once every 30 days. A legendary item must be at least a minor artifact to select this ability. A creature that successfully saves against the spell cast by this ability cannot be affected by it again for 24 hours.

Repelling: This ability prevents others from approaching the item's holder, as the spell Repulsion, but with a duration of a number of rounds equal to the user's highest ability modifier. Activating this ability requires one use of legendary power. As a free action, the creator of the field created by this power can dispel it. The repelling field created by this power attempts to affect all creatures within its range, though those who make a save against it cannot be affected by this power for another 24 hours (even if the field they saved against was dismissed and a new one created).
Seeing: This ability grants the user the power to see the true form of things. While in contact with this item, the bonded creature is constantly under the effect of True Seeing (as the spell). This is a persistent ability.

Spellstoring: This ability allows magic to be stored as if casting Spellstaff, but this ability can be applied to any legendary item (regardless of shape) and the item may hold a number of spells equal to half of the owner's mythic tier. A legendary item must be at least a minor artifact to select this ability. This ability can be taken a second time, increasing the number of spells that can be stored to the number of mythic tiers that the owner possesses. The item must be a major artifact to take this ability again.

Poke :-D

18 hours left!

That's a nice set of abilities, there's definitely a need for more (and especially flavorful) item abilities.

One thing that bugs me with legendary items as they are now is that the only way to add SLAs to the item is to make it intelligent. Not all legendary items are intelligent, but having special abilities in the form of spells has always been a staple from what I can remember.

Another is that you're severely limited in what kind of legendary magic items can do what. Want a caster whose bonded item is a legendary sword? Great! Forget about having any useful caster abilities or getting caster bonuses with your item surge ability though. Instead of organizing legendary abilities by item type, they should be organized into categories like "combat", "casting", "skill". Then you could choose a primary category for your item, (and possibly secondary and tertiary categories for minor and major artifacts) and pick your abilities based on that.

Also, on an aesthetics and organization note, I feel like Paizo messed up by not having the entries like this:

Quote:

Foe Biting (Weapons, Minor Artifact): When this item deals damage, its...

Sczarni

Alright, so....I probably should have asked this before...but what's with the legendary items? Do we choose which ones we have or want? I don't remember them being explicitly stated, so I'm confused.

Legendary items are an option for Mythic heroes to select.

Rednal is just creating additional abilities as what was provided for the items in the official book is nice but few.

At least that's what I think Rednal is doin.

@Tryggve: Legendary Item is one of the Universal Path Abilities that the Mythic rules offer - as in, if you're Mythic on ANY path, you can take it. There are various benefits to doing so, the most notable being the Legendary Surge - a permanent, cost-free bonus to certain types of checks (depending on the type of item). Legendary Items also have a selection of extra abilities... unfortunately, the list is VERY limited, though they are useful. One power lets you summon the item to your hand from anywhere, another lets you ignore armor on attacks, et cetera. Very useful... just not a lot of choices. I'm hoping Mythic Mania's full release will expand on that a lot.

Generally, you're allowed to choose both the item and the abilities it has (at least, GMs will usually let you choose it yourself, as long as it's appropriate - I actually made a custom one based on official material, and would be happy to help others do the same).

@Serra: In this case, yeah, I just tried to adapt spells into spell-like powers that were thematically appropriate. I don't think the overall system they made is too bad (the intent seems to be for players to turn something that's already a staple of their build into the legendary item, and there's enough variety in the choices to suit pretty much any style), but it definitely needs more options than it has for the abilities.

If so Rednal/I dont have you on the list. :(

That is a good question... do you have a character ready, Rickmeister? I know you ran the basic concept by me, but I don't remember a fully created version. It could have gotten lost in the wave of applications and PMs I've received over the past week, of course.

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE.

Did you make that list of legendary item selections yourself? 0.0;

Yes. In fairness, though, most of it was just looking through the spell lists for effects that sounded cool and appropriate, then slapping on some rules text to make them work as abilities instead of spells. XD I wouldn't say I did all that much, really - past a certain point, they kind of write themselves.

Lol nice and humble too. :)

Still I might steal it though...

If you dont mind lol.

Go ahead. XD I don't mind at all.

Karu is not a Monk/Oracle. Just a Monk/Paladin. He will take a level in Oracle mostly for Sidestep Secret and Mighty Fist of the Earth (spell), as well as having to wait for 6th level to cross into Champion of Irori.

Backstory:
Lazar was born the bastard son of a well-known King of the River Kingdoms. He was loved and cared for, but always knew his place. He served as his aide-de-camp and shieldbearer for many many years, living with veterans of several wars just so he could be close to his father. When the old king felt his end nearing, he passed the crown onto his oldest son, and, in true Erastilite way, decided to go for 'one last hunt'. Once they learned where he was going, Lazar begged and pleaded to go with him, as did a high number of his army friends.

Solovei Borga decided it would not be right to do this on his own, so he handpicked some to join him while they went to the Worldwound. Lazar was brought with him only because he would have followed anyway, and this way someone would be able to report to the new King what exactly had happened.

One day, Solovei was training and waiting where they could be deployed, when something went wrong. Not understanding magic all that much, he later learned some of the protective magic was breached and demons came flooding into camp. Solovei and his men did not hesitate, and a bit foolishly, decided there was no time to properly don their armor.

The fight was over quickly, but Solovei did not survive. He died on the corpse of 3 demons, kneeling and praying to Gorum that he might have fought hard and long enough.

Lazar was hurt in that fight when one of the claws of a big dark one brushed against his chest, right next to the lung.
To this day, he wheezes if he has to run...

Plothook:
He woke up with a ring on his finger, and has been unable to get it off... People say it's cursed!
Mythic Path:
Guardian probably, could roll into trickster if need be.
Quote:
Guardian: None can get past the impervious guardian—those who threaten this devout hero's charges are doomed to fail. The powers of the guardian allow her to hold her ground, protect her allies, prevent enemies from moving past her, and survive hits that would defeat lesser heroes. Characters that have a high Constitution score and frequently find themselves in the middle of combat gain valuable powers by becoming a guardian. The path of the guardian is suitable for those who routinely sustain massive amounts of damage.

Here is my Witch|Bloodrager, Khayalani

I grabbed the Orcish language instead of one of the standard Aasimar ones due to her history.

Thanks Lune!

Final update!

Thanks Lune for helping Rickmeister.

Added Cuan's finished character to the list.

Added Rickmeisters character to the listing.

Looking forward to the end, most definitely will keep an eye on this game if I don't make it. :)

Its been a lot of fun and Gestalt has taught me one thing, its very hard to make a single choice let alone two choices lol. xD

Good Luck everyone, thanks Rednal for starting this list. :)

Prepares a party bomb

"Dis better den fireworks! I don't remember what it will do though..." Shakes it, while simultaneously peering into the beaker and trying to determine its contents. She waggles her tail appreciatively at the thought of using her first bomb.

Good luck all :)

Good luck, all!

And... SELECTION COMPLETE! It took me a bit longer to decide, because all of the submissions were great! I am sad I can't take a bigger group than 6, but such is one of the downsides of being a GM on the messageboards. Here are my selections, in no particular order.

1. Korlina, Female Human Oracle/Summoner by Rednal
2. Lune Shikari, Female Tiefling Primal Host/Righteous Warder by Rysky
3. Tryggve, Male Human Barbarian/Soulknife by Simmons Harmon
4. Ellismus Rayne, Male Fetchling Inquisitor/Rogue by Dark Netwerk
5. Chi-Chi, Female Ratfolk Alchemist/Gunslinger by Corerue
6. Khayalani, Female Aasimar Bloodrager/Witch by Cuan

Congratulations to those who were selected! I think the gameplay thread will be 'Unlikely Heroes: The Story of the Fifth Crusade' lol!

Those not selected, I MAY be opening a new recruitment if the Kingmaker campaign I have a character in disintegrates, which it looks like it will (About 1/20 have dropped, the GM has not been on in quite a while, and the threads have been relatively devoid of posts for over SO long,) . Know that my decision was a difficult one and ALL of the submissions were great, so keep your chin up! I wish you all the best in finding amazing campaigns!
