Given how close the race is, let me see a short (About a paragraph-long,) blurb from everyone on what sort of character concept they have. This may push the decision in a given direction.
Don't mind if I do!
Born in the capitol of Risur, Slate to a retired Colonel and a well-known opera singer. Raised to follow in the footsteps of her mother, she attended and graduated from the Royal Academy of the Arts in Slate with classical training in singing, acting and various styles of dance.
Being the type who is always looking for something new, Sophia quickly became bored with her choice of profession. After some thought, and due to having picked up fencing as a hobby from her father, she applied to and was accepted to study at Jierre Sciens d'Arms in Danor. Her dissertation, Deconstructing the Risuri Gavotte: The Applications of a Traditional Dance in Swordplay, while initially drawing significant skepticism, has become widely cited and sparked an interest in what she termed the "Battle Dance". Her renown led to her being offered a professorship at the Banhaman Academy in Slate, funded partly by the Royal Homeland Constabulary where she now does her martial research.
Mechanically she'll be a Human (or Aasimar perhaps) Martial Scientist Swashbuckler/Bard (Dawnflower Dervish) re-flavored for the setting.

ok here goes: not to familiar with the setting though.
razor coast:
(very short version)
Tabby was born to a traveling carnival (circus), she never knew her father but was close to her mother. She was an acrobat, but also had a knack for magic. until that fateful day when her mother's secrets caught up with them. the circus was attacked searching for tabby's mother.
Making use of magic they escaped. and soon were left destitute, living on the streets. Tabby ended up an exotic dance/prostitute until she was witness to a murder. now she is wanted by an Assassin's guild she has to use her street skills and magic to survive. her only hope is to find her missing brother given to adoption several years earlier with no money to take care of him.
appearance: still working on that...
tabby: half-elf Bard/Rogue (preliminary choice of classes)
Zeitgeist
Former military guerrilla trained killer. she was considered a demolitions expert but not too shabby with a pair of pistols. Rose had a falling out due to a conflict of interest with her superior officers and ended up leaving the service. she occasionally does freelance work but wants to put her assassination days behind her.
unfortunately that is easier said than done, old enemies want her dead.
idea: Human gunslinger (pistolero)/alchemist (concentrating on bombs and explosives)

Zeitgeist
I'm thinking of some teacher that tinkers a lot in his off-time. He loves to gain new knowledge and even has some contact with the unseen court to learn more about magic. Being part of the RHC also allows him to gain a lot of knowledge while on assignments, things he can experiment with when back home. Would be a Magus/Armored Engineer
Razor Coast
I'm thinking of some kind of former pirate that's trying to better his ways, maybe even converted to one of the faiths and got accepted in their ranks? I'll work out more details if this campaign gets chosen, classes would be a swashbuckler/inquisitor or maybe just a falconer(having a parrot xD)/something, i'll prolly play around with some ideas for the classes to fit the story.

I am very taken with Rangers at present, particularly the Witchguard archetype. I would love to be a Witchguard to someone else's witch.
Razor Coast
Assuming this character doesn't get picked for another campaign, I would play Chantif. He's an overweight Witchguard who became a sailor after failing to protect his first ward. Although he was once proud to be a witchguard, he is ashamed of his failure and is looking to redeem his name or at least get killed trying to do so (not quite suicidal, but he values his life maybe a little less than others). He is loud and a little rough. Although he was kind and friendly (even boisterous) before his ward was killed, since then he has been more gruff.
If Chantif gets picked for another campaign (unlikely, but I did submit him), I might play another Witchguard, but probably will come up with something else.
I think the Witch class is cool, as well as the Hexcrafter Magus. I like the Stonelord archetype for the Paladin a great deal, but I don't think it would work well for a sea-going campaign, since many of their powers depend upon touching the ground. I could see doing a Magus, a Cavalier, a Paladin/Vitalist, a Maenad Barbarian or Maenad Bloodrager. Maybe a Skald or a Hunter. Whatever I pick I will probably RP as a sailor.
--
Zeitgeist
I haven't given much thought to this one, nor am I sure what I would play. Maybe a Stonelord/Vitalist, or a Skald/Cavalier, or a Fighter/Magus. Not sure what would best fit the setting. I like Martial characters though, so I would play something with Martial skills. Maybe a Ranger with Constructs/Golems as his favored enemy?
Rednal
If I were to even try submitting towards Zeitgeist, I'd probably look for some sort of nanomachine-using character. It looks like the ability to be sneaky and stealthy will be valuable within the campaign, and I think I could work with that (and the allowed materials) to create something fairly fun. ^^ Maybe mix something from one of the 3PP books with psionics...

Alright, Chantif got chosen for another campaign. Disregard my previous paragraph.
Razor Coast
I would play a Swashbuckler (APG)/Magus, I think. Not sure I'm in the mood to play the charming, preening type, though, so I would RP it differently somehow. I like the Swashbuckler Not a pirate (historically, the black flag meant "we give no quarter and ask none;" I am not a fan of pirates), but maybe an officer or noble who became a sailor because he loved the sea. I might play a halfling, maybe a Maenad, or maybe an Elf, but would probably play a Human.
Zeitgeist
I would play an Aegis/Psychic Warrior. Not sure about race, yet. Not sure how I would RP it yet--probably a quieter type, protective of his friends and allies. Good-hearted. No idea about backstory, but I'm sure something would come to me when I look at the Zeitgeist player guide.
Strife Ayrhart
|
If you decide to go with Razor Coast, I'd like to resubmit Strife, assuming similar character creation guidelines. His backstory would be changed a bit.
He made a deal with a devil to save some loved ones, but that tainted his blood, hence the sorcerer bloodline and penchant for whips. Now he is on the run from that shame, trying to be a good guy.
Tirion Jörðhár
I have no real interest in Zeitgeist, but Razor Coast looks like fun.
I would like to toss in my character thoughts. Swashbuckler(ACG)/Sorcerer (Rakshass, Aquatic or Stormborn bloodline, possibly crossblooded).
Character is was found washed up on the shore near a small pirate frequented village. She lived the life of an urchin stealing food to survive and sleeping where she could. She was caught on more than one occasion, but her charming personality usually won over whoever caught her causing them to feel pity on the homeless child.
She would spend hours watching pirates and others train with their nimble cutlasses and slowly taught herself to fight with a style similar to theirs. Although she usually used nothing but sticks, enough practice taught her the basics of how to fight with pointy sticks, and blades.
As she turned into a teenager, and a young woman, she began to slowly develop magic powers which she assumed were drawn from the ocean near which she lived and from which she had been washed up many years earlier.
Just some basic thoughts, will develop more as the decisions and recruitment progress.

If Razor coast I will resubmit my Lapith Paladin/Magus.
Still reading the setting so I cant provide a super detailed account just yet~
For Zeitgeist I will submit a human paladin/machinesmith. Who I am still working on atm. :)
As discussed before my character would be on the standby list as a substitute. ;)

My Razor Coast character would be an Urban vigilante.

I'm going to say up-front that if I'm not feeling better by halfway through the recruitment for either, I won't submit a character. Just spending too much time asleep due to this cold.
As it stands, I'll have to wing it once recruitment is up. Razor Coast would be easier to wing it with than Zeitgeist.

For Zeitgeist I'm thinking some sort of monstrous humanoid from Ber, maybe Half Giant, Half Dragon. A race that when you look at him you immediately think, he's going to bash my brains in, but when he speaks you'll think of Da Vinci, Tesla or Edison. He'll be a technical specialist for the RHC in both technology and magic. His theme will be Technologist, and I'm thinking Machinesmith/Wizard for classes.
Hope everything is well with GM Master of the Abyss. Haven't seen him on in a few days and he usually seems rather prolific in his posting.

Campaign: Razor Coast 1-10, Zeitgeist 11-20: 1d20 ⇒ 15
Zeitgeist it is! I couldn't decide on my own, because I did not want to disappoint a particular group. So, I put it up for the fickle whims of the Paizo diceroller to decide!
Everyone, I will have a recruitment up by 24 hours and 6 minutes into the future!
GM Master of the Abyss
Xentik, yes they will be essentially the same as here, with maybe a few changes. It's safe to say that you could start building a character and only have to worry about minimal changes.
Tirion, I will keep you in mind. And Kentik is correct... it's basically Pathfinder with a magitek steampunk feel. You're missing out! :)
After I finish going through all of my campaigns and doing logistics on my concept of the one-stop nerd shop, I will put up recruitment. Going through PMs and discussions right now before posting gameplay stuff!
Tirion Jörðhár
Thanks. Still need to figure out the whole steampunk stuff. Have another campaign where the DM created a whole world which I am pretty sure is steampunk - Rhune by Storm Bunny Studios.
Still need to read up on that and get a character created.
Edward Sobel
My character concept will definitely need some help to flesh out, as I am not to familiar with the actual setting. like nations, and how I can make my concept work without disrupting anything in the setting itself. (like assume a war that isn't really happening, or worse yet not realize some conflict was resolved like 100 years ago and create a background around that.
Edward Sobel
Since things have been quiet here and it seems Zeitgeist has won
here is a little video intro to the campaign to get in the mood
GM Master of the Abyss
Cartmanbeck, no restrictions on class combinations. I wouldn't even care if someone was a Synthesist Summoner/Paladin godmodder lol. So long as it makes sense with your background, it doesn't matter. That is, don't use the above combination if you have been living a life of thieving and murdering as a cruel pirate lord up until the campaign begins. That much is just good character building 101.
Once my cousin leaves from her visit, I will get recruitment up.
Ed, if you have an idea of a focused type of gun combat, let me know. I have access to classes like Sniper from some 3PP books.
