Racial Traits No Ability Modifiers: In their biped form, lapith have no particular strengths or weaknesses. Medium: In their bipedal form, lapith are Medium and have no bonuses or penalties due to their size. Normal Speed: In their bipedal form, lapith have a base speed of 30 feet. Adaptable: Lapith are born able to see multiple points of view, in part because they themselves experience life in two different ways. As a result, lapith are good at understanding the motivations of others, and finding common ground with them. Lapith gain a +2 racial bonus to all Diplomacy and Sense Motive checks. Unmounted: Lapith never receive Ride as a class skill. If a class would give a lapith Ride as a class skill, the lapith instead receive Acrobatics or Swim as a class skill (player’s choice).
Formshift (Sp): As a standard action, you can assume the form of a centaur (though your appearance may vary from a typical centaur, as noted under Physical Description). This acts as a transmutation (polymorph) spell with a spell level equal to half your character level. You retain the quadrupedal form until you take a move action to change back to your normal shape. You may use this ability once per day, plus once for every four full character levels you possess. The head and torso of your quadrupedal form matches the head and torso of your bipedal form. While in quadrupedal form, unlike a normal centaur, you do not have a natural hoof attack and have only a 40-foot move rate (though you can change this with the Stamp and Swift Form feats detailed below). You retain all your racial lapith abilities and gain a +2 bonus to Strength and Dexterity, plus darkvision with a range of 60 feet. You also automatically gain the centaur Undersized Weapons ability.
Background:
Teldrin is a rare creature known as a Lapith, a mix of elven amd centaur save for the fact he can choose to be a bipedal if he wants. Being what he is comes with the rejection from his parents and being sent to an elveen enclave to grow up. Aside from rejection he also suffered from a badcase of wanderlust. As soon as he was old enough to hunt on his own he started to range farther and farther from the elven enclave he called home. He wasn't originally from Mendev but he wandered into the area by chance as a youth and became lost deep in the calmer parts of the Worldwound. He was lost for days and was forced to subsist off the abyssal warped creatures that roamed the wilds. No matter how well he cooked them or how he selected the portions of meat. Even eating the plants made his guts turn foul. He wandered for days, suffering from some debilitating sickness before he ran afoul of some demons and narrowly escaped thanks to his tauric form. However by the end of his quick escape he had finally reached the end of his endurance and collapsed in a field. He lingered there for some time, too exhausted to move and in his human form to try and make himself less noticeable. He had been there for nearly two days when a mysterious woman found him, he was so weak by then that he wouldn't have stood a chance if she had been an enemy. Surprisingly she turned out to be a friend in this harsh and unfriendly land, she nursed him back to health. Providing him with food that didn't make him sick and when his strength returned she helped him to make his way towards the border. It was slow going and in their time together Teldrin slowly but surely fell for the mysterious woman that had saved him. She was as more beautiful than anyone he had ever seen and he couldn't help but give her a dreamy smile whenever she talked to him. He was a youth who had never felt love and the way she had helped him had made him fall head over hooves for her. He remembered vaguely the holy symbol she wore, the far traveler, Desna, and how she clung to her holy symbol absentmindedly at times and at the time he didn't have the understanding he did now. Her faith was important to her and he never learned why she clung to it so tightly. Their time together was far too short though, it seemed only a few days and he was found by a patrol from Kenebras. The patrol helped him reached the city and he has remained there ever since. Waiting... In vain for a woman who never came, a woman whose name he never heard. Now it was years later and he looks back on the inexperienced youth he was and can't help but shake his head in regret. When he was old enough he joined the church and became a disciple of Desna, rising to the rank of one of her holy warriors far quicker then most. He dabbled in the local magical academy as well, seeking to combine Magical form with physical prowess. His training proved far more successful than when he first started and now he stood as a testament of what ones will can achieve. Except for the fact he didn't do it for just himself, he had a woman to find and the Worldwound had expanded since he last stepped foot there. So this time he planned on cutting down everything that got in his way until he found the woman he seeked. And, Desna willing, he'd take her far away from the Worldwound... Appearance:
Biped form He appears to look like a half-elf in all respects, bearing a more human lineage in the broadness of his shoulders and his toned chest. However his build leans heavily towards athleticism, he was lean of frame and dexterous. He has shaggy blond hair, blue eyes and a youthful appearance despite being an adult. Centaur Form His athletic form becomes more graceful, more defined in his true form. His muscles expand as well but it gives him a more beastial appearance as well. His face flattens out some but he doesn't lose his looks entirely, taking on a more mythical appearance like a creature from the First-World made flesh in the material plane. His otherworldly appearance aids him in his fight with the demons but he is limited in where he can reveal it as he has yet to change in front of the people of Kenebras or his Crusader companions. His centaur body, along with the horns on his head, appear to mimic the same looks like that of a gizelle. His underbelly is dominated with white downy fur and his sides are a mixture of dark brown with black lines that break up his colors in sections across his body. A pair of large, broad and flat horns jut from the top of his head, giving him an intimidating look.
Plot Hooks - Mythic Path:
Mythic Path Champion or Guardian w/ Path dabbling possibly. Still learning the system. 1. Per his story feat he fell for a woman whose name he never learned and it is his hope that she still lives somewhere in the Worldwound and he has a burning desire to go and find out if he is right. -Despite it being the longing of a youth suffering from fever, he still wants to try and find her. To show her who he truly is and see if whether or not she could accept him for the monster he was. 2. He is still refining his form and will seek out places of knowledge that will further aid him in strengthening his combat ability against demonkind. 3. He remains on the lookout for objects of power that can help turn the tide and perhaps weaken the abyss's hold on the ancient lands of Sarkoris. So much so that he is willing to commit to a suicide mission to reclaim such powerful relics. 4. If he lives long enough he plans on commanding a squad of his own, if not an army and hopes to recruit more of his own kind to help aid in the war effort. -With such success his kind may finally be able to come out of hiding.
