It’s out of my bomb range, so I’m going to make for his lair. That should bring him down soon enough.

Zoreck the Unclean |

Hey, folks.
The US holiday of Thanksgiving is this week. I'm heading out tomorrow after work to spend several days at my in-laws' place. The wireless coverage from my carrier isn't great in their town, and I don't know the status of their wifi. Even if there is reliable service, I'm not sure what my posting schedule is going to be.
Long story short: I expect to be able to post tomorrow, but I'm not sure about my posting rate after that until next Monday (11/27).
(Not that it's been good at all lately...)

GM Zed |

So... you folks have been running on four players since Mayenyi didn't come through the gate with us - and I have decided to wind up the parallel game. And therefore, it is time for you to make some new friends!!! Ravboom (Goblin Gunslinger played by mdt) and Palomia (Human Summoner played by Lady Ladile) will - through some trickery and retconning of reality - be joining our game... hence Wuli wanting you folks to meet someone :)

Ravboom |

Hola.
I gotta level Rav up.
@Zed - I did this in a game I was running where there were two tables in two worlds that merged. We did a 'reality wall' thing where a bit of a magic snafu opened a doorway between realities temporarily and 'duplicated' someone from the other side (literally a mirror image, heart on the wrong side, handedness reversed, etc). So the original was left in the original world, and the 'duplicate' continued on in the active game world.
Gates would work well for something like that?
Also, Zed, is it ok if I do a full rebuild on Rav? Given Rav will need new equipment and everything, it might be better? I'm thinking of retraining the gunslinger level back into a barbarian level? It took the gunslinger level back when I thought Rav was going to switch into Gunslinger going forward, but he ended up changing and going a different route...

Palomia Kasic |
Helloooo~
Many thanks to Zed for allowing Rav and I to hop from the goblin game into this one! No other introductions are really needed since I either play with or have played with every single person already at this table :)
Palomia comes in as a vanilla Unchained Summoner with a panther-like eidolon named Relas. As far as personalities go, well...you'll see, hehe.
Since we're dealing with wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff Zed, do you think it might be okay for me to drop Palo's Sorcerer VMC when I start working on leveling her up? It was a neat idea at the time but it wasn't especially useful and so it'd probably work out better for her to have those feats back >.>

Awesome! Welcome to both of you!!
I’ve always loved playing with LL and I’ve not checked to see if I’ve played with Rav ‘s person before. New blood is always welcome here!
Edit: oh yeah, I’ve gamed with mdt several times as well! That is an awesome crew you are bringing in, Zed!

Drancis Mordaron |

As Rikkan has said I am familiar with both LL and mdt, and I think both players are really awesome :)
Not if we could only get a dedicated healer... :P

Ravboom |

Rav now makes magical clockwork trinkets, if that helps. :)

Ravboom |

@Zed - World is still 'Guns Common Place'? Meaning that firearms become Martial weapons, gunslingers lose gunsmithing, guns become crafted weapons like all other weapons, etc, same as the other game? Or is this one 'guns everwhere' instead, meaning guns drop to 10% cost?

GM Zed |

If anything... this world is guns virtually unheard of!!! But, for the sake of simplicity, we'll stick with guns at the same level as Argosa...

Yeah, no problems...

No problem - one of the original selection dilemmas that I had with this game was having two savage technologists proposed in the recruitment - Zoreck and Ravboom... so, if there is anything whilst rebuilding him to make sure you don't end up treading on each other's toes?

Ravboom |

Ah, ok, didn't realize you had another savage tech. I was going to rebuild back to savage tech. But, I can go the other way, instead, and go to Gunslinger/Artisan instead.
I've looked over his build, and I think I can go for a sniper gunslinger build that won't interfere with his too much, he seems to be much more built toward a melee type than Rav is (although he's been mixing it up in melee more than I'd like in the other thread).
That ok with you Zoreck?

Ravboom |

@Zed - Would you be ok with Ravboom taking a martial flavored archtype from a 3rd party publisher (Rite publishing)?
Not reallly looking to turn him into a samurai. Just the mechanics, not the flavor, basically turning him into a sniper? He'd use his BoomGar turned into a LoBoomGar, Lever Action Revolver Rifle. :)
I think that will make him significantly different from Zoreck?

Let me have a look to make sure it's reasonably balanced - always a little cautious when we stray into the magical world of 3rd Party ;)

And I think, although I am happy for you to fill in the gaps for something similar to have happened here - maybe in jumping through the gate at Garsilt, parallel universe Palomia and Ravboom went on to defeat Lomrick on Argosa... but, in this universe, a strange alignment dumped them in Rythes... so they will have similar experiences to the rest of the group up until escaping Lomrick's prison...

Ravboom |

@Zed - Sounds good on the backstory.
Alternate looks for the LoBoomGar
Number 4 down, with all the gears

I think it should be fine. If we throw out the 'struggle of honor' since it's not appropriate (it doesn't replace anything, and just gives a penalty and bonus that cancel each other out) it's no more powerful than any of the other archetypes, just more focused on long guns.

Ravboom |

Ok, so, done with Rav update if you're ok with the archetype. If not, I'll need to redo a few things, but mostly done even then. :)
Skill Monkey's, Ho!

Locke Lestrange |

Hey Ladile, fancy seeing you here! I'm glad to have some new party members!

Hello, newcomers!
Lady Ladile/Palomia: we meet again! I think you'll find my character here to be a little different from my character in Zed's Shattered Star game...
Gav/Ravboom: Hail and well-met!
I think there is plenty of room for two Savage Technologists here! Zoreck is still very much a melee character who wades into a fight with a sword and pistol (via "Sword and Gun"). I do plan to take more levels of Gunslinger eventually—I want Trick Shot at Gunslinger L3. I'll probably pick up Two-Weapon Fighting on its own sometime soon, so that I can keep up the sword-and-gun tactic even if he runs out of rage. (That hadn't been an issue with Mythic Rage, but that seems to be off the table for now.)
Zed: As for the tech level: I had assumed all along that we were still in an "Emerging Firearms" level of technology. If that's not the case, let's figure it out now, so that I can retool Zoreck if necessary.

Ravboom |

Yep, Golarion was emerging firearms. Rav basically build a 'cap & ball' revolver from scratch in game (hafl way between black powder and advanced). Then in the other game when we hit Argosa, they had bullets and rifles and revolvers, so he upgraded it from a C&B to a full on bullet.
Not sure if you did the same thing over here though.
Any feedback on that archetype?

Zoreck the Unclean |

The Savage Technologist archetype is pretty strong, especially how we re-tooled its modified Rage ability for the Unchained Barbarian.
Rage, Savage Technologist's (unchained) (Ex) (14 rounds/day): As a free action, gain 12 temporary hp, +2 bonus to melee attack rolls, melee damage rolls, firearm attack rolls, and Will saving throws. Fatigued for 1 minute when ended. Any Rage powers that normally affect thrown weapons affect firearms instead. (This modifies the standard Unchained Barbarian's Rage ability.)

I think the archetype is fine... lose the Honour thing as it makes no impact on the character but other than that, not seeing any huge issues.

Ravboom |

And Rav is now up to date. Character sheet in the 'goblin' link.

Palomia Kasic |
Still here of course, but I do want to give a heads-up: all of my days from now through next Friday (sans Wednesday) are spoken for with work and other RL commitments that actually involve me leaving the house and on top of that, I've still got a bunch of Pathfinder Society engagements that I'm juggling in addition to my regular games. So my posting might be a little sparse for a few days though I'll do my best to keep up :)

Ravboom |

No problem Palo.
@Zed - New character sheet, realized I'd miscalculated the cost of metal cartridges (7.5 not 1.5). While redoing my sreadsheet, I found a bug in my formulas, and realized I was over WBL. *sigh* Reduced number of bullets to 100 from 500 and got rid of the ring of sustenance.

Locke Lestrange |

Have the message boards been absolutely awful for anyone else lately? Or is it just me?

Drancis Mordaron |

Drancis would look for some healer's kits, also some antitoxin and antiplague to help with poison and disease.
What is available for purchase Zed?

Locke Lestrange |

Locke would love to get his hands on a wand or two, but I am guessing Fort Buckle isn't the best place for that?

Zoreck the Unclean |

Hey, folks.
So sorry for disappearing again. My life has gotten complicated recently, and I've had scant little time for gaming.
I *think* I'm through the storm and will resume posting shortly.
Thanks again for your patience with me!

GM Zed |

Just want to push this little nugget of goodness into the light where you good folks can see it... Frog God Games are, for 24 hours only, giving away free downloads of the Blight adventure, Bloody Jack. I have run the module here on the messageboards and, I'm sure my players will agree, it is a deliciously twisted monster... I can heartily recommend that you head over to the FGG website and download it.
Holiday Season, Free Download of Bloody Jack
You might need to set up an account with FGG and log in before it works... I tried to add yesterday's festive treat without being logged in and it didn't work - logging in cured that particular problem...

Merry Christmas and happy New Year to everyone!
My Christmas was wonderful, and New Year's Eve is shaping up to be a lot of fun, too. I'm tapping this update from my new Kindle Fire.
My December has been rather trying otherwise. I'll spare you the details, but some things beyond my control have been taking up practically all of my spare time.
I think that the worst is behind me now, and that I'll be able to return to regular posting after New Year's Day.
Thanks for bearing with me!
Happy New Year!

Ravboom |

Sorry all, holidays ambushed me. :)

Ravboom |

Is Zoreck's pistol a single shot metal cartridge, a revolver metal cartridge, a Cap & Ball single shot, a C&B revolver, or a black powder muzzel load?

Zoreck the Unclean |

Black powder single-shot muzzle-loading pistol. Alchemical paper cartridge at the moment.
Zoreck has Rapid Reload, so he can load an alchemical paper cartridge as a free action.
We were using the "emerging guns" rules at the time I built the character. Nothing in gameplay indicated the existence of higher-tech weapons until you showed up with a revolver rifle. Which is pretty cool, by the way!
We briefly had a deadeye hexer in the party, and she also used a single-shot muzzle-loading pistol.

Ravboom |

Rav started off with no gun, then built his own 'Cap and Ball' revolver, which required several turns to reload, but could then fire 6 rounds before running out.
When we hit the higher tech areas, Rav built a real revolver with cartridges. I wanted to check before Rav offered to build a revolver for Zoreck. Depending on your build, it might not make a difference, but aesthetically at least, it gives you more of the gunslinger look. :)
Then again, Rav's idea of a nifty pistol might not match Zoreck's idea of a nifty pistol.

Zoreck the Unclean |

Zoreck's pistol carries a LOT of emotional weight for him, and he's probably not going to give it up easily, even if a higher-tech option becomes available.

Drancis Mordaron |

As for a watch rotation how about Drancis and Zorek on the first watch, Ravboom and Rikkan in the middle, and Locke and Palomia last?
