Cavalier vs. Lore Warden is a choice that depends on what you want to do; Lore Warden (potentially crossed with Martial Master) is one of the best tank archetypes in the game, while Cavalier is much more "simple damage," though it varies a lot with the archetypes you dump on it. Both are good enough options that going full-hellknight would probably mean a reduction power, although I'd say your dexterity is low enough that you wouldn't be going with the standard lore warden build.

Easy to enter, yeah, but somewhat devoid of features (the commander, at least). You get armor training, smite chaos, and... that's basically it (except Fearsomeness, which is amazing on the right build), but just a few levels of dip gets most of the cool bits.
Signifier actually seems more interesting, but its not a good fit for everyone (though it could be hilarious combined with rage prophet).

I am back! :) Yay! Good job you guys on the ooze thing.
The weekend was awesome! I made my teenager roll her eyes at me so many times!

I think a book is coming out soon that fleshes out the Hell Knight a lot more. Kind of a add-on for the upcoming AP.
Oops, sorry GM-Gathrix, just saw your last post. I'll shut up now.
GM-Gathrix
So the AP should be out tomorrow. I have already begun getting the campaign set up. I bought Cheliax : Empire of Devils and I have shared some of the highlights in the campaign tab.
I am going to invite the seven of you that stuck with it. Seven is more than is typical, but in my experience having a few more helps for these things since people drop off because, well life. Also because I think all seven of you deserve it and did well. If you would rather I will do two separate games and possibly recruit some more, but I think this group had a good dynamic unless I missed something.
More to come on that, I just wanted to put that out there.

Sounds good. Still deciding class plans, whether it would make more sense for Margaletta to go Unchained Monk with the Hamatulatsu feats or take the regular monk archetype.
When does the player's guide come out?
Jerax Hellfire
WOOHOO! But GM Gathrix, it begs the question, will you allow me to play the 3pp class I wanted to play?
GM-Gathrix
Congratulations for surviving the adventure. Each level I like to do an AAR (After Action Review) in hopes of recognizing the good and bad and giving credit where it is due.
I awardHero Points for three categories. Best Roleplayer, Best use of a Hero Point, and MVP which is chosen by the players for whatever criteria they choose. You can not choose yourself for MVP and I only vote if there is a tie. This is meant to be a positive thing, and I think this group is mature enough to see that.
Since the roleplaying was exceptional, particularly between Izrail/Jerax/Meridian/Ileosa and the quality and frequency of posts was high especially from Kirk and the afore mentioned, I am granting the entire party a Hero Point.
There were no hero points used, but since you made poor Kirk carry all the Vegepygmy heads, and draw the map, I am granting him a second Hero Point.
So that just leaves MVP. Who earned a MVP for this session and why?
Also this is your chance to have a voice about the game. What did you like, didn't like? Did I get a rule wrong or roll something you did not understand?
As far as 3pp stuff goes let me know if you had something in mind. I am looking over yours Jerax, there is a lot of material associated with that one so it will take me a bit, but I will know before end of the night for you.

Hey, GM. I forgot that Unchained Monks can still take Hamatulatsu feats, and was thinking of going Unchained with Margaletta. Would it be okay if I replaced her level in Warrior with Commoner upon doing so?
(Also, I just realized that Hamatula Strike + Ascetic Style means that at level 9 I'll be able to impale people on bludgeoning weapons, which is pretty hardcore)

I would like you to retain the NPC class you already played, but you can make minor tweeks like traits, feats ect.
Jerax Hellfire
I liked it all. From the adventure, to the interaction of other players. I like the group dynamic. This was a great adventure to introduce everyone in the party.
GM-Gathrix
Discussion for Hell's Vengeance Post when you have gained your level and are all set to start. I will do a once over and we can start as soon as the AP and Players guide drops(Hopefully midnight).

I was going to get into a lengthy speech about what I've learnt about RPing during this short intro and what I loved... but Jerax summed it up. Now I really know who is Izrail, and I'm even more confident than before to play him till the end.
And @Margaletta: I don't like it that much, so we can sell it... I will need the gp to help Kirk buy his fredom!
Ileosa Albus
I really enjoyed this! I do have one question though, how much time are we having pass between this and Hell's Vengeance?
@ Izrail: Right we need to talk about that! XD Yeah, my plan was to buy Kirk... Or well Ileosa's plan it to buy Kirk.

@Ileosa: We can buy it together! Seems like a nice first date: a fancy dinner, a walk by the moon and buying a slave. All in all 10/10, would date you again hahahahaha!
Ileosa Albus
Cool, just let me know because if it is longer than a couple weeks I need to talk to Izrail about a few things.
Kirk Hetfield
Oh wow. I honestly I did not think I would get picked so I am very excited. Thanks for the props with the Hero Points. I loved the interaction between everyone and I am sure that Kirk will love his new masters. Will make for great game ideas and interesting role play. Like Izrail, I have a better idea how to play Kirk now. Burning down the forest was awesome, or part of the forest, or whatever. I am now imaging Kirk as being kind of a pyromaniac. Trying to think about how his bard magic will begin to come into the game though. As for an MVP? That is going to be real tough. I thought Jerax posted often so I guess I will vote for him despite the small jokes in the beginning.
Meridian Anterian
My vote for MVP is Ileosa. Her interaction with Meridian managed to pull the character I had imagined to life in the game. I love this introduction, even the surly Sister Margaletta.
I loved this introduction and the group dynamic. I hope you guys had as much fun as I did. By the comments, I have nothing to worry about.
As to the knife, sell it. We could use the boost at first level.
@GM Gathrix - are you still okay with the Warlock class we discussed?
Meridian Anterian
We are all good! :) I will update and join you all shortly!
Jerax Hellfire
Although Jerax would clearly vote for himself as MVP, I nominate Ileosa for MVP. Before play, it was her idea that Jerax and Ileosa would be friendly before the adventure, drawing out aspects of Jerax's personality that probably would have been buried. Mold free, Jerax would pursue other interests other than the knife. I will likely alter Jerax's backstory to fit better with the ideas presented in the Player's Guide and to incorporate what has transpired during the adventure.
Jerax Hellfire
From behind a bush walks Jerax wearing what appears to be a horribly-made Sister Margaletta mask made of leather and plants.
In a unconvincing voice, "Sister Margaletta" says, "You know what guys. I changed my mind! I'm voting Jerax for MVP. It's so cool and doesn't have a body odor problem at all."
Faux Sister Margaletta walks back to bush "she" came from.
GM-Gathrix
1 for Kirk (Izrail)
2 for Jerax(Kirk/Alicia)
2 for Ileosa(Jerax/Meridian)
1 for Meridian(Ileosa)
So I will be the tie breaker. In this instance I will vote for Jerax because a few of his posts drove the party to continue the story and as the GM I appreciate that. It is always better if a player takes that initiative instead of me having to railroad the party.
So everyone starts with 1 Hero Point. Jerax and Kirk get two. Congratulations. Now lets all move to the Other game discussion from here on out.
