Quince Medvyed |

"Sorry Saren did not mean to leave you hanging." Quince takes the pint. "I guess the rest of us should make for the Black Fur. Though I was serious about tracking Dalvik down now. Dealing with a bandit here might just weaken those we may find in the Greenbelt. If we have the choice I would rather face my enemy at a time of my own choosing."

Kevros Droverson |

Kevros making sure not to get drunk replies to Angeus ... "We really need to get going" ...then replies to Quinces suggestion ... "If we move quick enough, perhaps Stalker can help us track him?"

Angeus |

Angeus looks up at Quince and Kevros with a frown. "I think you misunderstood me earlier. Dalvik isn't a bandit, he's a thug that lives in the slums, extorting protection money from the unfortunates down there. He has nothing to do with the Greenbelt, except his ambition to participate in the charter that is" She takes another pull from her tankard.

S'ala |

S'ala is grateful for the kind words from Kevros and he gives him a silent nod of understanding. He initially retreats to the corner for what appears some sort of silent meditiation. Once complete, he rises and joins the group at the bar.
"This One may not partake of spirits at this stage of the Great Journey. But this One does not want to offend. Please accept this One's tankard as thanks." He brings the full mug to Saren and gives a small bow to the warrior.
"This One is quite worried about that Dalvik fellow seeking revenge on this esteemed company soon. Others would be wise to watch behind and to trust as few here as possible, but he has proved sly in his dealings and confronting him in his own maze, may not be prudent"
"This One's mount and gear are prepared for the journey. This One is ready to depart when the company makes that decision."

"Ah ha! Now this one I will like, may Cayden Cailean watch over your travels!" With that Saren accepts the tankard from S'ala and slaps him over his shoulder in an one arm embrace.
S'ala you gain a temporarily hit point if at full hit points, otherwise heal 5 hit points.
Everyone needs to be adjusting their hit points when you take damage, Thank you Kevros.
S'ala did you get any other healing before?
"Angeus, do you think we have any chance of finding him, or did he likely scurry into one of his holes? Once I finish all the drinks at the bar I will get ready, where are we meeting? The Passing post just out of town or the Black Fur?" Saren asks weakly.

Quince Medvyed |

Quince looks over at Angeus. "I think we would all sleep better with one less extortionist in the slums. But if cooler heads think setting out is a more prudent choice I understand."

Kevros Droverson |

Kevros looks at Angeus with concern and to keep the peace, he decides to hold in his thoughts of Delvik being a thug today, and a bandit tomorrow. Kevros replies, "OK, thanks for the round Saren, it definitely took off the edge. Time to go or we will be on the road at dusk. Masota, shall we retrieve the horses and either head for the magistrate's office or the Black Fur?" Kevros heads for the Lass' main entrance and when he reaches the door, he looks back at Masota waiting for a response.

Quince Medvyed |

Quince nods, "We will see you at the black fur."

Masota Kaedin |

"Very well Kevros, let's make our way to the magistrate's office while the others collect whatever supplies they need. I've already purchased everything in preparation for the journey so when we return to the Black Fur we can leave immediately."
As she's walking out the door with Kevros she turns to him with a teasing smile. "Stalker is going to be heartbroken when his new best friend doesn't show up."

Masota and Kevros collect their horses and walk them to the magistrate's. You have two options simply get answers(Diplomacy check) to your questions or roleplay it out. Nothing too important at the magistrate, a few guards and clerks.
S'ala do you follow Kevros and Masota? Quince who do you follow/stick with?
Angeus you go take care of some business and meet up with the group at the Black Fur?
Otherwise you all get to the

S'ala |

S'ala chooses to go with his new brother-in-arms Kevros to the Black Fur rather than accompany the rest of the group to magistrate. He is feeling anxious to get the show on the road. He grabs his pack, spear, and little horse and follows the former soldier in silence.
Upon arriving he defers to Kevros to speak on the group's behalf.

Kevros Droverson |

Psst S'ala it's the other way around, Masota and Kevros are heading to the magistrate's
Kevros snickers at Masota's teasing comment ... "Masota, since your diplomacy with words is better than mine, by all means please talk to the magistrate in regards to Delvik."

Quince Medvyed |

Quince accompanies any of those who are heading to the Black Fur.

Masota Kaedin |

Don't know how everyone else feels but I'm perfectly fine handwaving the magistrate visit so we can actually get started in the stolen lands. I just want to set up the bounty thing before we leave to keep Davlik in check.

Quince Medvyed |

Quince leans over to Angeus, "I have trained horses, if you don't mind I can help you pick a sturdy one." Quince ties up his own horse Scram.

![]() |

There is presently a bounty of 5 gp on Delvik's Head, half-orc barbarian for extortion and assault.

Masota Kaedin |

5 GP? That simply won't do. Let's make it something crazy like 100 GP. Masota would have a few stipulations though. Davlik would be brought in alive to be tried for his crimes. The bounty hunter that brings him in would receive a writ from the office and instructions to travel to Oleg's to receive payment. I'd pay them there provided they have the writ as proof and send a messenger or something back to Restov, paying the magistrate's office 10% of the bounty for their assistance. Would that work?

Angeus |

Quince leans over to Angeus, "I have trained horses, if you don't mind I can help you pick a sturdy one." Quince ties up his own horse Scram.
Angeus cocks an eyebrow at Quince, "Please, be my guest" she says with a smile.

Quince Medvyed |

Quince looks at the man and asks to see the horses he moves among the horses checking muscle tone hooves, teeth and such. He approaches the sales person and asks "How often do the animals get exercise? How have they been trained?" After listening to the sales person he then approaches the horses. He calmly walks among the stables making various horse noises, stomps, headshakes and nasally snorts.
Quince is using his speak with animals (horses) ability trying to figure out pecking order of the horses, what horses are friendly with other horses, and so on.
Handle animal to evaluate the horses: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15

Kevros Droverson |

Oops, wrong avatar post ... Anderlorn = Kevros ... :-/ I wanted to fix it but it was too late to edit

![]() |

Masota please do a Diplomacy Check for your magistrate visit.
Quince you come down to three choices though most of the horses are in good conditions. A chestnut quarter horse, a dun heavy warhorse, and a white light horse. Though it also may depend on what Angeus has in funds and what she wants in a horse. The horses get ridden once a day, typically taken out by hunters or the guard who rent them. About half of them are trained for combat, the rest of the horses are trained for riding. Only a few are just trained for pack riding, we have five mules for that.
Stalker is back with the horses.

S'ala |

My apologies for the confusion on who I was following. Let's say S'ala went with Quince to the stables right away..
S'ala led his lithe horse following the others to the Black Fur. He is slightly amused at Quince's antics around the horses not understanding his behavior, but no smile crosses his grim visage.
He stands back and watchs the horse-trading, glad he already had a serviceable, if not flashy, mount.

Stalker of Vengence |

Once everyone gets to the Black Fur, Stalker collects all of you in a side room. There is two tables full of misc. gear, each of the tables reach from one wall to the other. "So each of you need to go through the pack, that is before you. If you already have all the equipment just leave it. This is your basic survival gear. There are extra kits over there on the round table. One of the kits should be in the group, as well as the extra items besides the kits. Don't worry about money for I will pay for what is used and we will take it out of your loot or your cold dead corpses." Stalker keeps the same straight face until he sees your expressions, then he laughs and is smiling. "I doubt it will come to that."

Quince Medvyed |

So the horses have nothing to say lol
Quince looks over to S'ala, "I am speaking to them they find our words odd."
Quince points out the three horses to Angeus and explains the differences. He does his best to present temperment.

![]() |

The chestnut quarter horse has a very easy going temperment and enjoys to eat more than anything.
The white light horse enjoys to frolic and plays tricks on all riders especially those who don't get the good rub down or are mean when riding.
Is this what you were looking for?

Quince Medvyed |

lol thats great

Kevros Droverson |

"Once everyone gets to the Black Fur, Stalker collects all of you in a side room.
I take it Masota and Kevros are at the Black Fur as well? Just making sure, no assumptions.

S'ala |

Nodding to Kevros, S'ala says, "With your leave, this One will begin loading the mounts for travel.". He starts to load all the packs, tents, and gear onto the mounts waiting to see if a mule or other pack horse will be added to the caravan.

Stalker of Vengence |

In response to Kevros Stalker smiles and says, "Yes, there are a few crossbow grappliing bolts, no, I have not searched for such things but a few of the weapon smiths may have them."
So S'ala are you grabbing all the stuff on the round table or all the tables?

Kevros Droverson |

Kevros bows his head from the neck and replies to S'ala, "Thank you S'ala."
Kevros nods to Stalker, "Thank you for the information Stalker. Now there is one thing I am curious with, can the grappling bolts be used more than once or are they a one shot deal?"
I actually do not know if they can, I can see arguments for they can and can not. And there is nothing in the rules to support any idea

Masota Kaedin |

Masota walks around the small room, visually inspecting everything and occasionally stopping to pick an item up for a better view. "Impressive work Stalker. We can use what is here to supplement our own equipment as well as provide for our allies who may not have such gear. And this..." she motions to the map making kit, "would be wise to bring as well. If we're going to explore all that land we might as well map everything as we go. It'll make things much easier once it comes time to start settling the area. I don't suppose any of you secretly have a passion for cartography by any chance?"

Stalker of Vengence |

"The grappling bolt and arrow both are a bit sturdier, than the average. If you hit a target rather than over shoot it and them pull the grapple to secure it, there would be a 10% chance of it being useless after the use of it."
Stalker laughs at Masota's last comment, "Actually you do, Quince if I remember right is quite the scholar or expert on map making."
Now understand I need to know what items you take, or the entire kit provided, then add the items to your cruch/gear. Please post the items selected in discussion.
Moving things right along, the group selects what items they need, packs the items away, I am sure that with two saddlebags on each horse, you won't need to get a pack mule, 'but what about all that treasure/loot?' ;)
The group gets together on their horses as Stalker comes around on his Gray Horse. Narcissa comes arund on a simple white light horse. Down the way you can see Saren coming down on a massive lizard.

Quince Medvyed |

Quince looks pleased with the map kit and goes over its contents eagerly. "This is great. I can map quite a bit with this."

![]() |

"That is Diamond, also Serria, her most recent renters choose to call her Diamond, we don't know where this name came from but alas. Any other questions?" The gnome says to Angeus.

Angeus |

"Serria....that's pretty. Yes you're pretty aren't you?" Angeus asks the white horse, its ears swivelling towards her. She slings her gear over the horse's withers and climbs into the saddle with ease.
"No more questions, my thanks!"she says ,tossing the gnome a bag of coins she nods and joins Stalker and Saren. "Saren! Where did you find a dragon willing to hoist your wine soaked carcass around" she calls happily, obviously glad the group is almost ready to set off.

Saren Elken |

"He enjoys the company of a strong one, let alone one that saved the village he was protecting, something about a debt to be paid. He is more trouble than a horse, but he ate the last one I rode instead of him." Saren responds with much mirth and patting his mount with love.

Kevros Droverson |

Kevros is a little frustrated that his question went unanswered but before making a fuss, he consults with Stalker while holding a tent in his hands ... Stalker should we get Pavilions instead of tents and are they available? In addition, I will take the grappling bolt over the grappling hook with the silk rope.

Stalker of Vengence |

"I am not for sure where pavilions are, but you are welcome to go look for some in town."

S'ala |

untrained knowlege arcana: 1d20 ⇒ 17 max 10
untrained know. nature: 1d20 ⇒ 16max 10
S'ala is impressed by the lizard mount and the arcane beauty of the Gray Horse. His respect for Saren and the Stalker have gone up immensely.

Kevros Droverson |

Kevros shakes his head to Stalker ... "We are behind schedule enough as it is. I will also take this tent." ... Kevros lifts the tent in his hands and places the grappling bolt inside his pack, and both the tent and rope will be attached to the saddle bags.
Notating in inventory

Kevros Droverson |

Kevros finishes packing his gear and then addresses the party ... "Is everyone finished packing and taking inventory*? Does anyone need any assistance?"
* - And marking their new inventory in their personal and saddle bag locations on your character sheets.

S'ala |

S'ala answers "This One's belongings are all packed. This One is ready to depart".

Angeus |

Angeus cinches up the buckle of one of her saddlebags, ensures that everything is secure and not causing Serria any discomfort. With a rub of the horses shoulder, Angeus mounts with one graceful movement.
She trots the horse by the Black Fur a number of times allowing the steed to get used to her and the weight of the equipment.
Then she stops and sits comfortably while the others make ready.

Quince Medvyed |

Quince makes ready taking time to talk to the horses and get a feel for pecking order. He mentions to the others which horses to keep separated. He stores the map kit in his saddle bags. "Ready to get underway Angeus. It will be goid to be in the wild.
