Kevros Droverson |

Ah no Quince, I am not going to be used as an Ogre mop ... :-)
"Ok, the cave is a moot tactical advantage at this time and hopefully the forest adds a slight noise dampener to the the sound of combat."
Kevros nods and follows Stalker to get into position.

S'ala |

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18
Intiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (15) + 5 = 20
Wolf- how far away?
S'ala whispers to the group, "There are enemies ahead, ware yourselves." and points to them. Speak = Free Action, holding until I know range for the rest.

Angeus |

Angeus's horse manages to look sheepish after being scolded by Quince, as Angeus gently pats the horse's next , giving Quince a nasty grin "I'll do my best!"
ninja'd by a bunch of posts ;)
Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (19) + 9 = 28
"I see them..." Angeus says lowly, pointing them out to Quince.
Initiative 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (16) + 6 = 22

Quince Medvyed |

perception: 1d20 ⇒ 12Curse you dice
Surprize Round
Following S'ala's guidence Quince tries to make out the bandits not really sure if he sees. "What I don't see anything."
Initative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16

Kevros Droverson |

Initiative Roll since everyone else is rolling
Init: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25

Masota Kaedin |

Perception: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Masota will nod to S'ala and Angeus, slowly drawing her sword as she does so. She'll let her sword hang low in one hand while the other holds the reins of her horse tightly in preparation for a charge to lead the ambush.

GM Wolf |

The three bandits are 30 feet away, everyone is still on their horses. They just kinda came upon you as you came upon them. None of them notice you initially.
Kevros I thought you were staying over with Tristan, Siph, and Narcissa?
Bandits Init:
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
1d20 + 1 ⇒ (19) + 1 = 20
Stalker Init:
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (17) + 5 = 22

Kevros Droverson |

Sorry Internet without a map confusion. Yes, I will stay with Tristan.

S'ala |

Surprise Round
S'ala dismounts. If possible, since BAB is +1 or better, he readies his spear..
Not sure if you need Stealth: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (10) + 5 = 15

Kevros Droverson |

Are we all surprised on our horses because I thought we were getting into position?

Quince Medvyed |

I think we have split. To get into position. The south side crew; Masota, Angeus, S'ala and I ran into 3 bandits away from the camp as we were getting into position. The 3 bandits are not aware of us yet. If we made our perception rolls we could act in the surprise round. We broke the code. Split the party.

Kevros Droverson |

I wouldn't really call that splitting the party. Now if one group went back to the keep or attack the "fortress" and the second group attack the camp, that is splitting the party. Or make it simpler, one group went into the cave and the second attacked the camp proper, that would be another example of splitting the party.

GM Wolf |

Yup you are not splitting the party. My post earlier got eaten, let's see...
Sala do a ride check DC 10 to dismount without any problems, then you may move up to the bandits while pulling your spear out.
Angeus do you do a standard or move action?
Stalker shoots one of the bandits with an arrow.
***Round 1****
Angeus you are up!
Stalker puts two more arrows into the same bandit dropping him. They are not on horseback, just walking.
Post accordingly as surprise round or round 1. Feel free to post when you can.

Angeus |

Surprise Round
Seizing the opportunity, Angeus brings her crossbow to bear on one of the bandits.
Attack 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
However , her unfamiliarity with shooting from horseback causes her shot to go wide.
Round 1
Re-thinking her strategy, Angeus slips off of her horse and wraps the reins around a convenitent branch.
Ride DC 10 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
Yuck ! :)

Kevros Droverson |

Surprise Round
Kevros gets into position and waits for Tristan to engage the enemies, "Looks like South group has already engaged the enemy, ready when you are Tristan!"
Kevros has an Init of 25

Quince Medvyed |

The more the merrier. LOL the post asking for perception had the South group so I figured we were further apart. Should everyone make perception checks to act in the surprise round then?

Masota Kaedin |

Surprise Round
Masota spurs her horse as the others engage the bandits. The horse gallops full speed toward the group of bandits as Masota swings down at one of the surprised bandits with her greatsword.
Non-lethal Power-Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
Damage: 2d6 + 10 ⇒ (1, 1) + 10 = 12
Basically just using a standard action to charge up to the horse's speed. I'd prefer if I was kinda off to the side instead of charging straight forward and blocking everyone's ranged attacks. I'll post a round one action later based on what happens since I'm pretty sure I'm last.

S'ala |

Dismount DC 10: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (17) + 1 = 18
S'ala is dismounted and has a apear prepared for the Surprise Round
Round 1
S'ala throws his spear at a remaining target.
Spear Throw: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 2 = 3
Sadly, the monk fumbles the spear which drops to the ground. S'ala will draw and ready his nunchuku.

Kevros Droverson |

I believe a natural 1 no longer officially equals a fumble because really how many times do you see a fighter of any type just accidentally drop their weapon? I never dropped my M-16 when I was in the Marine Corps unless the sling malfunctioned or one time I got it caught on the barb wire when a flare went up and left it on the fence. Better not to get spotted than try to extract your weapon which mostly likely will not be seen. However, it does equal a natural miss.

GM Wolf |

Recon Kevros post. Kevros your perception is a 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10. Which means you do not see nor even hear any action. Kevros, Tristan, Siph, and Narcissa are all getting into position. Tristan what exactly are you doing right now?The action going on now is about a 1/4 mile away to the SE and nothing loud has happened yet.
Angeus you are not as successful as you thought you might have been, you are dismounted not graceful at all, though you did not fall off your horse, you quickly tie the reins to a branch, though your crossbow is now on the ground.
Masota I thought your surprise move action was to pull your weapon, the most recent post would be Round 1.
Sala has his nunchuku ready at the end of Round 1.
***Round 1***
Initiative
22 Stalker*
22 Angeus*
20 Bandit*
20 Sala*
16 Bandit*
16 Quince
10 Masota*
The bandits are startled by the appearance of others, let alone others that are attacking, shooting at them and throwing spears, one of their friends is down! "Run!" one of them says as the other just screams, "Ahhhhh!". Neither can do a run action for there is no clear area to run, so they both do double moves to the South.
Masota's ride checks... DC 5 Ride with knees, DC 15 to spur mount as a move action. That will allow you to make your standard attack still.
I could do these checks, but you do not have your skills in a spoiler for easy access.
There is difficult terrain every other square. So the bandits get 45 feet away from you, so now 75 feet from the group.
Quince what do you do?

Quince Medvyed |

Curse you refreshing internet thing.
Are the Bandits fleeing toward or away from their camp.
Round 1
ride: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (17) + 6 = 23
Am I able to charge or can a double move gets me to them?
Scram Dam: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Quince Morningstar: 1d20 + 4 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 4 + 2 = 22
Quince Damage: 1d8 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9

S'ala |

I must confess to being a little confused by setting. Can you reset the people and places at some point? I don't think we need a map, but just a reset will help in my mind.
S'ala stares after the fleeing bandits in frustration as he has no ranged weapons that can reach them. He goes to the fallen bandit and checks him over for gear or ranged weapon of any type. He also will try to address his wounds (perhaps in next round?)
Perception, searching bandit: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
Heal: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6

GM Wolf |

A double move would get you to them Quince, if you think your horse can bull rush down a dozen trees you can try a charge.
Sorry Sala.
The bandits are 75 feet away from Angeus and Quince before he double moves.
Masota has her horse double move and knock one of the bandits out.
Sala the bandits are 45 feet away from you. You find a sling and 5 bullets.
Quince double moves his horse then smacks the last bandit and he drops as well.
All the bandits have now been subdued!
Out of rounds... What do you do?

Angeus |

Sheepishly, Angeus picks up her crossbow and dusts it off, ensuring it still work properly. She then takes up a position near S'ala, watching for any other patrols.
Perception 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (13) + 9 = 22

Quince Medvyed |

Quince looks about. To see if he has attracted other attention.
Perception: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
He looks back toward his companions to see if they are heading toward him.
Is there a time table to get into position we are dealing with or do I think I have a minute or two spare, that I would use to bind any survivors.

Stalker of Vengence |

"Well Tristan is to get into position, this group to the south, then Stalker is to do the arrow whistle to tell everyone to attack. I think. " Stalker says as he joins you Quince, since you asked.

Tristan Morgan |

Yeah my thought was we came from the north so the south group needed more time. I was planning on stealthing toward then charge in when close enough. Stalker would then signal the rest to start the assault with me being the diversion. So when I feel they have had enough time to get into position say 10 or 15 min's based on Stalkers suggestion. I would attack.

Quince Medvyed |

That was my thought as well. I was trying to gage if I felt I had time to spare to bind them. Irrelevant if I think both are dead.

Kevros Droverson |

Kevros continues to follow Tristan in getting into position.

Masota Kaedin |

Masota will dismount so that she can attend to any bandits that are still alive. She'll also help Quince in getting them tied up as well assuming we have time to do so.

Quince Medvyed |

Quince Medvyed |

heal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (8) + 1 = 9
heal: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
I dont bind what I think is dead.

Tristan Morgan |

I am not. I thought the initial plan included allowing time for the south group to get into position. So after 10 mins or so I attack with Kevros as my ranged support. As the Bandits turn to face me and overwhelm me hopefully the south group will jump in. No one said it was a good plan :)

Quince Medvyed |

Quince mounts his horse. Smiles playfully at Masota and comments in celestial.
He chuckles and moves on toward the camp.

Kevros Droverson |

I am not. I thought the initial plan included allowing time for the south group to get into position. So after 10 mins or so I attack with Kevros as my ranged support. As the Bandits turn to face me and overwhelm me hopefully the south group will jump in. No one said it was a good plan :)
That was the plan but a chance meeting ruined the plan and we don't have CB radios, high enough level mages, or telepaths in our group to act as radio men or women.

Quince Medvyed |

Ruined is premature 12 seconds of combat. If we felt we had a minute to spare tie them, if they lived. So depending on noise, proximity to camp, and such it might just be a speed bump.

GM Wolf |

LOL, true true on to the finale...
The South group starts to approach from the South, now that they have circumvented the whole camp and had their detour. Are you coming up the path or just staying to the foliage? Is everyone staying on their mounts?
Tristan you have waited quite a while, if you counted you are now on your 11th set of 60. what do you do?

Tristan Morgan |

Is my mount war trained? If so I will charge in and start the slaughter. If it is not I will stealth as close as possible trying to single out a bandit to charge.

GM Wolf |

Tristan did you get the mount from Oleg, if so it is not war trained.
Everyone check out the Map.
Post if you are wanting to be mounted when charging in or coming in on foot. Feel free to move your token where you want your character to move, but understand I will likely move you appropriately once I know what you are thinking.

S'ala |

Nice map. Are we across the river yet? I thought we were south of the camp, but not sure where in relation on the other axis?

Angeus |

Angeus will definitely sneak up using the foliage as cover; moving into position near where the compass rose is located. I don't see her on the map, she should be with S'ala
Stealth 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (16) + 9 = 25

Quince Medvyed |

Quince gets reasonably close awaiting Tristan and the signal. He hangs back counting on the horses speed to bring him at the right time. He will attack from horseback.

Kevros Droverson |

Kevros dismounts and follows Tristan to get into position. Kevros would love to shoot from horseback some day but today isn't it. In addition, horses are not the best at stealth nor is really Kevros hence the reason why he is staying a little behind Tristan.

S'ala |

Angeus, I added your token and put it by me, not sure if we're in the proper place or not.
Before the shooting starts, S'ala will take a look around and see where any bandits are or if there are traps or ambushes in play.
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
Not sure if we can see the bad guys on the map or not but just trying to square IC and OOC knowledge and see if you have any surprises in store.

GM Wolf |

Siph and Narcissa slowly follow Kevros.
Sala on your way in from the South and in the 'bush' you begin seeing traps and point them out so that both you and Angeus do not trip them. Neither of you are on the map yet, nor do you see any bandits. I am assuming you are moving very slowly to be sneaking and looking for traps, am I right?
Tristan after your counting do you start your sneaking to the camp or do you wait? You said you were going to act and wear bandit wear to get into the camp, did you decide not to? Tell me what you are thinking and doing. As you begin to leave the other three behind, you can easily hear Kevros being near you and not being very sneaky at all.

Tristan Morgan |

I will walk the road, in my bandit disguise. Outfitted in the stuff from the ones I encountered in my backstory not the ones from Oleg's. I will also start to sing a song loudly to try and cover everyones approach. I will try to appear drunk as well.
perform: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10

Kevros Droverson |

As you begin to leave the other three behind, you can easily hear Kevros being near you and not being very sneaky at all.
Hey! What do you expect! I am wearing heavier armor. The question is, can they hear us during daytime hours surrounded by a tree noise buffer and during daytime noise?
